At about 8:30am, the phone rang and someone announced that a driver was downstairs to pick me up. I'm usually very punctual and normally would have waited for the driver downstairs, but I needed every minute of the three hours of sleep I got. I should note that sleeping is one of my favorite hobbies, but on this trip, between the girls at night at night and golf during the day, I got substantially less sleep than I usually get, but I was never really tired. Until today. I told Paw she could sleep as long as she wanted, that I'd be back around 4 or 5. [I know some of you will think it stupid to leave a girl alone in your hotel room, but I put all my valuables in the safe - what's she gonna steal? My beauty products?] I dragged myself downstairs and the driver was waiting for me. The poor guy had gotten here at 7:30 but only had my first name - which was not much help to the front desk. But eventually they figured out who I was, and I was on my way to my first fishing trip in years. I booked the day at Bungsamran Lake through www.thaifishingguide.com. They run all types of fishing trips all over Thailand, but since I was staying in Bangkok only, Bungsamran Lake (telephone: 02-676-1000) was the closest option. This lake is a stocked lake that's located an hour outside Bangkok on a former Tin Mining site. The water looked reasonably clean, but it was catch-and-release anyway. I had pre-booked the trip with a 25% deposit by credit card and the balance was due the day of the trip. Total cost was 5,000 baht. The price included car service, admission to the lake, bait and tackle and a fishing guide. It seemed a little steep, but service and organization comes with a price. We pulled into the parking lot and I'm immediately greeted by my guide, a friendly guy from Denmark, who spoke perfect English. The set-up is simple, there's a 500-yard dock on either side of the lake and connected to the dock are rows of fishing huts. There's a pretty good tackle store where you can buy anything you need to fish, and there's a convenience store with snacks and drinks. Each hut had a couple of chairs and a lounge chair, a table, a fan and a scale. You cast out from your hut. They say they have over 50 species of fish in the lake and more than 10 world records were set last year. The two main fish are the Siamese Giant Carp and the Mekong Giant Catfish. The carp can reach 9-10 feet and weigh up to 300 pounds. The catfish can measure 12 feet and weigh over 600 pounds, although the lake record is 210 pounds (still a very large fish). The Mekong Catfish also puts up a great fight. It was a hot day and I was tired, so I only fished for about 5 hours. In that time I hooked 20 fish and landed 10. 9 were carp, between 10-15 pounds and the last fish of the day was a catfish weighing 25 pounds - it took me over 30 minutes to land the fish. My guide said it can take 8 hours to land a 100 pound catfish - they just don't give up. The guide was really informative: he's been working the high season in Thailand for 7 years, arriving in October and leaving in April. He just loves to fish. Then he returns to Denmark to "make money". He's lives just outside of Phuket and came up by bus (12 hours) to be my guide today. Then it's back to Phuket for some sport-fishing. He said the Marlin and Sailfish are incredible down there, but it takes two days by boat from Phuket to get to the hot spots. He was surprised that I wanted to leave after "only" five hours - but I assured him I had a great time and tipped him 1,000 baht. We woke the driver up (he had been sleeping in the hut the whole time) and the driver brought me back to the Omni. It was a great experience and I'll definitely do it again, but differently next time. The place is open 24 hours, the night fishing is supposed to be great and it's cooler. Plus, now I know the name of the place and phone number, so I'll have Julietaxi.com bring me and a girl or two - the price of admission plus rod is only 500 baht. Here's all the info:
Got back to the Omni around 4, then went immediately to WinWan Massage for a nice three-hour Thai massage. I just love falling in-and-out of sleep while getting massaged. Walked back to the Omni, took a shower and got ready to see what kind of mood Nat was in at the Long Gun. Got there around nine as was greeted very enthusiastically by Nat. I paid her barfine and we headed out to dinner. I wanted to go Ratchada Seafood, but she was hoping her friend Bum could join us for dinner and she couldn't leave the bar for long, so she asked if we could all eat at the Dutch restaurant right at the entrance of Soi Cowboy. I have to say, although I would have never chosen that restaurant, the food was very good and the prices reasonable. We had great conversation throughout and I realized why I put up with her moods - I find her very attractive, great in bed and a total GFE. We drop Bum back at Long Gun and head over to the Omni. While we are in the taxi, she asks me why I'm not married. So I tell her, I like to be my own boss, come and go as I please. And that I like to be alone. She agrees and says she likes to be alone too. I then start laughing and she asks me what's up so I compliment her on her engagement ring and wedding band. She gets all embarrassed and admits that she "met" an Amrican who is a nice man and has a good business but she insists she isn't married. Takes balls to say that while your wearing those rings. I tell her as long as she's happy, I'm happy. We get to the Omni and had a tremendous session. This is one energetic and sensual girl. We went to sleep on the early side - I think it wasn't even midnight. It was just like old times.

I'm learning. You can see as the trip went on the shots got better. I'm confident the progression will continue in the next trip

Didn't know about the fishing stuff, especially the availability of Marlin & sailfish in Phuket. Two of my favorite activites--fishing & chasing girsl. If you like fishing, you should try Costa Rica (MahiMahi & Sailfish) and San Jose has some hot girls (pricey though). I'll have to try them out.
