Day Seven: Can I Get a Copy of That?

Woke up around 8:30am and just like last time, Nat was in the living room watching television. Told me I still snored and I sounded like her father when he passed out after drinking. Don't think that was meant as an insult. She asked if it was ok to go back to her place - she was going to accompany her mother to the doctor so they could look at her arm again. I told her no problem, although I had hoped to see some temples with her later that afternoon. This was my second trip to Thailand and the closest I had come to a temple was the shrine in the parking lot of CP2 Massage. She said she should be done by 2:00pm and gave me her cell phone number so we could hook up. I put 2,000 baht in her hand - we never discussed money on this trip or the previous one - and we went downstairs. Nat jumped on a moto-taxi parked across the street and I checked emails and used the breakfast voucher for the first time at the Omni lobby restaurant. They have a decent selection ranging from American and English Breakfasts to a dozen or so Thai dishes. I had some spicy Thai dish (yep, at 9:30am) that was more than decent - and went great with their iced tea. I'm a big iced tea drinker in the States and I think the Thai version of iced tea is the best I've ever had, except maybe at a couple of mom and pop joints in the South, where brewed iced tea comes already sweetened. Even the Thai iced tea with milk was interesting, but I prefer their lemon version. With breakfast out of the way, and at least a few hours to kill, this was my first non-golf/fishing day. I had heard about Pantip Plaza on this board and didn't make it over the last time. Pantip Plaza is a multi-level (three?) building that houses multiple vendors selling computers and everything related thereto. There are kiosks with multi-national companies like Canon and Sony, stores that sell all types of brands, and then there are the software pirates. All over the plaza are these booths where you flip through catalogs listing every type of software imaginable from every software house. I sat down at one kiosk, and basically ordered a copy of every piece of relevant business software I saw: Every Adobe program, every Microsoft program and for both Mac and PC. I paid 180 baht for every Mac program disc and 130 baht for every PC program disc. In all, I bought about 40 different programs and paid just under 6,000 baht. I paid up front, and the "salesman" asked me to come back in 45 minutes. They obviously don't keep the originals on premise, and burn the discs as they are ordered. I spent some time looking at different computers and prices - a lot of deals to be had here. Picked up my merchandise an hour later and I can tell you, every piece works, not that I've had time to use every program. I don't play computer games, but anyone who's into that must stop by Pantip Plaza. I then left the plaza and walked around a bit, checking out stores and buying some things to take back home. Saw a stuffed animal that I figured Nat would like; she said she has a doll/stuffed animal collection of over 150 pieces - they take up one room in her two room apartment. It was nearing 2:00pm, so I figured I'd head back to the Omni and drop off my purchases before hooking up with Nat. The taxi line by Pantip Plaza was long - people with boxes of computer equipment all waiting for a ride home - but there were a couple of tuk-tuks available, so I opted for one. A tuk-tuk is a covered tri-wheeled motorcycle/golf cart with room for two in the back seat. I had heard they were dangerous, but so is crossing the street. Told the driver the Omni and he said 80 baht, exponentially higher than a taxi, but we're talking a total fare of less than $2.00 - still a great bargain.

We made it to the Omni in good time. I dropped off the packages and called Nat - who did not answer her phone. I tried a couple times more, then went to Win Wan Thai Massage for the last time this trip. I was a very welcomed customer by now, all the girls are fun over there, though nothing to talk about in the looks department. Had another great massage and then asked the manager to call Nat's number, maybe I was doing something wrong. No, still no answer. I really wanted to go to a temple with Nat, but it just didn't look like it was in the cards. So now it's 4:30pm and I figure I'll give CP2 Massage another try. I had an ok session there on my last trip, nothing to write home about, but then I remembered all the accolades awarded to Thip, #35 in your scorecard, but #1 in your heart. Took a taxi over, knowing CP2 doesn't shell out commissions, and was there in a flash. Unfortunately, I was told that Thip had left to go home for a few days [and now I read that she's retired from the scene] and there really wasn't anything jumping out at me from the fishbowl, so I left. Went back to the Omni, checked emails and finally got a hold of Nat, who said she was taking a nap with her mother and had turned off the ringer. She said she would stop by at 8:00pm, so we could head out to Ratchada Seafood for my last night. Then she asked if Bom could come along, and since my policy is the more the merrier, said it would be fine. Took a shower, got changed and went downstairs at 8:00. At 8:15 Nat and Bom, on two moto-taxis, pull up to the Omni. Greetings and kisses are exchanged and we walk across the street and jump into a taxi. I give Nat the Ratchada business card that has the address and directions in Thai. She gives the driver instructions and off we go. She sees a handwritten phone number on the back of the card and asks who it is. I then remember that one of the managers from the other night gave me his cell number and said to call him and he would insure that I got good service. She calls the number and the guy says to call when we pull into the parking lot, and he'll meet us. We get to the parking lot 15 minutes later (Ratchada Seafood is about 20 minutes from the Omni - of course, depending on the traffic) and Nat gives the manager a call. We wait a couple of minutes by the right side entrance, but the manager doesn't show up. I then suggest we walk to the left side of the parking lot. Khun Mor had recommended eating on the left side, because they had a pool where you could fish for giant prawns. Well, sure enough there's this huge pool and people with rods trying to hook these prawns. We sit down and order some food and one of the female managers comes over and sets us up with rods and bait (looked like little pieces of liver). This proves to be great entertainment until the food arrives: the girls really enjoyed catching the prawns, bringing in about 6 total. You put them in a basket in the pool, and then they wrap them up and let you take them home. Nat was ecstatic that she was able to bring home her catch. We had another great meal, dish after dish of fantastic seafood. The manager really took care of us. The only knock I have on Ratchada seafood is all of the seating is outdoors and it's not always comfortable to sit in hot and humid weather. But now I have the solution to that problem. There are about 7 VIP Karoke rooms that line the Prawn Pool. Nice, air-conditioned private rooms available with advance reservation. These rooms can fit 8 people and you can draw the curtains closed and lock the door. The wait staff knocks on your door when the food arrives. Are you thinking what I'm thinking? Great place for an orgy. Lobster and blowjobs - lust think of the possibilities - and all in air conditioning. I was disappointed that I discovered this on my last night, but that's the first spot I'll hit when I return.

So the meal is over, we're all full, and I settle up the check. It's under 3,000 baht, plus I save 10% with my Ratchada Privilege Discount card. I leave the manager a 300 baht tip and she literally shrieks with joy like she won the lottery. The service here is just great and the quality of the food matches the service. I highly recommend this place. We jump into a cab and head towards Soi Cowboy to drop off Bom, who has the night off, but isn't feeling well. Bom lives above the Long Gun, apparently they have rooms up there for the girls. Nat stayed there until she found her apartment. We have one drink and head over to the Omni. I had wanted to stop at The Living Room, heard it was good, but Nat said "I want to fuck you now", so who am I to argue. We get to the Omni and before heading upstairs, I settle my bill. It took a while to check out the last time, and I want to be able to walk out the door in the morning. Get to the room and Nat sees the Winnie the Pooh I bought earlier and was ecstatic. I paid 200 baht for it and she treasured it like it was gold. We had another great GFE session and she said she would help me pack in the morning. Watched some tv, her watching the Miss Thailand Pageant in the bedroom and me watching an NBA game in the living room, just like a real couple. After the game, I climbed into bed for another round, then went to sleep feeling content and sad at the same time.
