Sunday (Gums)
Everyplace except Samba was supposed to be closed on Sunday, so I picked this day for a visit to Antigua. I decided to get some photos of clubs I had not taken yet because the streets were mostly empty. I was off to a late start after my very late night, but when I finally did crawl out of bed, I got dressed and crossed into Zone 9 towards Caprichos.
I was seating on the curb across the street from Caprichos reviewing my map when I saw Cruiser walking near the entrance. She spotted me and waved, then made some other hand motion I didn't understand and quickly disappeared into Caprichos. I was unsure of what she meant or what to do. I was tempted to go knock on the door and invite her to Antigua with me, but then I'd have to explain why I was sitting across the street from Caprichos and I'd be unable to get pictures of the rest of the clubs I needed. I also figured that if she wanted to hang out, she'd cross the street to see me or call me over and not disappear so quickly. I waited for a few minutes, then continued on a route covering the rest of the clubs I had not yet photographed.
When I was done, I rode a bus into Zone 1 and wandered around looking for the bus to Antigua. Foolish me, the location was in my Lonely Planet Guide, but instead I relied on the directions of gentleman at the front desk of Suites Reforma and spent half an hour waiting at the wrong location. I did not work up a map, but the location is described in my post under Transportation: Buses.
The bus when crowded and made for a longer trip than it would take by taxi, but at 5Q, about 63 cents, it was a hell of a better deal than whatever insane price a cab driver would try to charge.
I spent the next few hours wandering through Antigua, a very pleasant and interesting excursion from Guatamela City. From my understanding, this is where most of the "regular" tourists spend most of their time. Antigua is also a good place to go to study the Spanish language as it's known for its language schools.

The bus ride back was a bit more uncomfortable with more people stuffed in, although that was possibly because it was one of the last buses back to GC that day. The heavier traffic and poorly lit roads also made it seem a little scarier to come back by bus at night.
I got a little rest and cleaned up after the long ride back from Antigua before heading over to Samba. I was hoping to get a little look around the place, but the brunette from the previous night spotted me as soon as I entered and was quickly by my side. We grabbed a couch in the back where I unhappily shelled out 200Q ($25 US) for our two beers. Fortunately, she drank hers slowly so we spent good deal of time together with her dancing, grinding, and caressing me.
I suggested the short time room near the end of her beer, and off we went. Like the drinks, the session fee was the most expensive at 700Q ($88 US). I really would have liked to communicate to the management that I would be slamming the place for a hefty number of readers, but I would never do that as I think it could cause potential problems. (rules are different than the US, especially in these kinds of venues)
There were two rooms available, both lit very poorly. The room we entered was lit by a red bulb. I searched for another light switch, but there was none, and my date confirmed that it didn't get any brighter than it was. She left to use the restroom or grab protectin, so I snapped a quick picture and noticed that there was a large gap above the door which would show the flash going off from the hall. Fortunately, no one was in the dark hall so I wasn't too worried, but figured I should be a little careful. I wandered into the room lit by the blue bulb and noticed that it didn't have the gap. When the brunette returned we started to move our stuff over, but had to return to the red room when we discovered there was no lock on the door.

We had a fun time together, but my own enjoyment was supressed a bit by her lack of hygiene. There was a slight odor eminatating that made DATY completely out of the question. Sex from the rear was also less enjoyable because the odor was stronger. I had a good time with her overal, but resented the fact that I was paying the most money for this. I really hope someone will tell us or discover better Sunday alternatives so I can say to avoid Samba completely. Right now I have to say that Sunday at Samba is better than nothing.
In looking over her photos, I was suprised by how much worse the brunette looked in her photos. She has gorgeous eyes and other nice features, but her smile, especially a wide one for the camera, exposes a lot of her upper gums. Believe me, she was much prettier in person.
I decided to get some food before heading back to the hotel so I walked to the nearby Cafesa on 6th street. I had discovered on my earlier quest for late night food that Cafesa restaurants were supposed to be 24 hours. I arrived to find a 24 hour sign and a closed restaurant. I then walked over to a nearby pharmacy that was supposed to be 24 hours, but it turned out the guy didn't have access or wasn't allowed to sell anything from the section of the store that had food and drinks at this time of night. Frustrated, I asked a nearby security guard about any 24 restaurants or markets nearby. He told me I would find one near the south end of the street I was on (5th or 6th, I forget) so I started walking in that direction.
I was nearing the end of the deserted street with no open buildings in site when I saw a lone cab approach from behind. It passed me, then slowed, stopped, and backed up. In the passenger seat was Cruiser. She asked what I was doing and I told her I was looking for someplace to buy food. She told me to hop in, and we drove to a gas station with mini market that was 24 hours.
I wasn't long in the car before she started complaining about why I didn't wait for her earlier in the day. I explained to her that I didn't understand that she wanted me to wait, but she didn't seem to understand to well, either because she was still too annoyed, or on something, or most likely both.
At the gas station, I bought a small bag of food and drink for myself and a beer for Cruiser (I would have bought it for her, but she gave me the money). After receiving her beer and change, she asked where my hotel was. Off we went to Suites Reforma.
We talked some more and she told me that she was just being driven around the city with nothing else to do. I was tempted to suggest spending more time together or inviting her over, but I wasn't getting the right vibes from her. I also felt a little like a third wheel as she seemed to be on friendlier-than-average (though not necessarily romantic) terms with the cab driver.
With zero vibes despite some subtle openings I left (I wasn't tired and didn't have anything to do either), I decided to call it an early night. Besides, I wanted to make the most my next day which would also be the last in Guatemala. I gave the driver some money despite being offered a free ride and thanked them, giving and receiving a goodbye kiss on the cheek from Cruiser.
Upstairs, I gobbled up my food before hitting the sack much earlier than average.
I was in Guatemamla City over the Memorial Day weekend and Samba was closed on Sunday night.

Photos integrated into report.
Maybe the Sunday opening when I was there was an experiment and they found they didn't get much business since people were staying home that night and they didn't promote it well.
If the Sunday closing is permanent, then Samba is a waste of time and money to visit.
