Years ago I introduced Fobu to the cheap termas. Now he knows them better then I do. Fobu is a regular in Rio, he can often be seen at Meia Pataca selling Pimsleur and other portuguese language CDs.

148 Rua Mexico is pretty nice, although one of the elevators is broken so, at lunchtime, Rich and I had to wait like 5 minutes for an elevator to come. Yeah, I know it's only 7 floors, but I'm convinced that those narrow, dark, spiral staircases in Rio buildings are deathtraps

There were four units working last Thursday. I ended up doing, well, I did a maid, or at least that's what she was about 3 weeks ago before joinging the world's oldest profession. Great BJ and fuck, though. The facility is nice - the entry area is hardwood floors, nice lighting, they have coffee and some other drinks. The room I was in was good, there was a rickety massage table to one side that looked like it had never been used. We ignored that and pulled the futon right out. Nice shower in the room, very clean and spacious. Nicer than some of hotel rooms I've seen guys stay in in Copa.

The current price is R60 for a half hour, R80 for the hour.
