Once through customs, I went to the kaha travel desk to pay for and receive my hotel voucher (Melia Panorama). The hotel was per Epi’s recommendation. There was confusion with my reservation with Kaha travel. After a 20-minute wait, they told me they “didn’t have the room rate” and to go directly to the hotel and check in as they had my reservation. I was still a bit foggy about the purpose Kaha and the other travel agencies played… Did I mention that I did not research this trip at all? No Kaha = $$$

At the hotel, I stopped by Epi’s room to say hi to MX (he was visting), Epi (his room), and take my first look at three indo girls who were “entertaining” epi and MX. Everyone appeared jovial at first. Soon after tho, a couple of the girls looked to be dazing off in outer space while Epi toyed with his factory girl (Miko). Miko was real cute and had a nice personality (lively, attentive, a tad bouncy), while the other two left a little to be desired… Perhaps it was a long night—who knows. I was excited to check out the town, so after chatting for a few minutes I went to my room to drop my bags and shower.

I checked in at the Panorama and no one asked for the neither voucher nor cash. Good start! The hotel amenities were quite nice, the rooms decent and very livable, and the staff was friendly and helpful. They had a business center with Internet access for a small fee as well. Location wise, it was centrally located and easy to find as it towers above the surrounding buildings. On day two here, the front desk mentioned that I was only booked for 2 nights instead of three. After another round of confusion, they said the rate was 150SNG/night for the room as they couldn’t go through Kaha (contract wasn’t in place for 2005 yet!). I hemmed and hawed a bit and they dropped the rate to 110SNG and I agreed to it, as I wasn’t getting far in terms of price reduction while expending a fair amount of energy. During this time though, I talked with a front desk clerk (Bebe) a while and we hit it as far as hotel front desk staff and clients go. She was youngish and cute. I assume she’s over 18… more on her later.


First order of business
Went to a shopping center (Name?) and picked up a SIM card. FYI Money changers are abundant here and rates appeared better than most.

Day 1
Us three amigos made the booking joint rounds. I was sorely disappointed as I found nearly all of the girls unattractive and the few I did think were decent enough to screw, showed little to no glimmer of life. We walked in and out of around 7-10 places—I don’t recall the names as they were in quick succession. The last one we visited (Hollywood) showed the most promise as they had a few nice looking gals and the place actually had a little energy.

There were several girls staring me down, but one in particular caught my eye. Once we locked eyes, she was a little bashful and skittish then began pointing to her friends flanking her. I kept shaking my head and pointing to her. She spent the 10 or so minutes I was looking at her smiling, blushing, and whispering to her friends. She wasn’t the spinner type I usually go for and was around 5’4-5’5 and had a very nice body to go with it, although more of the “fit thin American” body type. The place was shutting down for a few hours so a dozen or so girls came out to the lobby to flirt and her friends told me that she “likes me” but is very shy because she speaks no English and has never gone with a white guy before. The English part didn’t bother me at all, but I was a little nervous about the “no white meat” before statement combined with her appearance of being bashful and skittish.

I decided to take her and MX inquired her price for me. They came back with 280RUP and a spirited discussion took place between MX and the pimp guy about the pricing. The place locked in at 280 and wouldn’t budge, much to MX’s chagrin. He asked me what I wanted to do and I said I would pass and not take her. Mind you, I could care less about the 8 bucks, but I strongly believe in solidarity amongst us and backed MX in terms of what was deemed unacceptable pricing. As far as I was concerned, this was MX territory and he brought me here…they should show a modicum of respect and thanks to him (at least in appearances) for this and they didn’t…

The rest of the evening was spent eating, strolling around the center, back at the hotel, and then off to the Discos.

Town First Impressions
While definitely 3rd world, the town struck me as having relatively decent infrastructure, clean enough that it didn’t bother me, and folks were always friendly. There were scattered street markets, small convenience/grocery stores, pharma’s, and of course the fast food chains (McD’s, Pizza Hut, KFC, etc). Communicating in English wasn’t too much of a chore and hotel, food, and taxi drivers seemed to understand it fairly well. The girls ranged in their ability to communicate greatly tho. Overall, girls are not as conversant as their counterparts in LoS let alone PI.

Food
I’m not a seafood eater (besides lobster and crab), so I had a little bit of a tough go in Batam. I enjoy an assortment of chicken, pork and vegetarian dishes cooked either Chinese (preferably Sichuan style) or Thai style—I like spice. I also like lightly flavored Asian soups (e.g. tom yom mu). The Pujaseras we went to seemed to offer 99% seafood. On the second night, I ordered a soup that I had custom made, which was quite tasty. The other dishes (largely seafood) weren’t really too my liking, so I won’t comment on them. Epi and MX seemed to like them a lot tho. I’ll have to investigate further, as I’m sure I can hunt down as excellent noodle house, Chinese restaurant (by Chinese I am referring to the Han culture), and also check out some vegetarian Indo places (I was a vegetarian for 10 or so years and still enjoy it).


Pacific Disco.
WOW. HUGE, dark, crowded, and LOUD…so damn loud my cell phone felt like a vibrator in my pocket. I met up with MX as Epi decided to turn into a hermit. As I chilled at the bar beside MX, an assortment of girls walked up to him to say hi, with a few asking “whose your friend?” He definitely had some real lookers around him over the course of a couple hours. A couple of note was Rezah (nice head to toe) and Ayu (looked to have a smokin' bod).

There was another little spinner with a VERY sweet body that latched to me fairly quickly. I don’t recall her name-- her face was below average at best, but she looked damn good from the neck down. She also seemed to enjoy her work as she grinded me for an hour or so. On the downside, she smoked like a chimney—I think she went through at least 1 pack, possibly two packs while she was grinding. I grabbed her pack and stuck it in my back pocket to drop a discreet hint I was suffocating. I didn’t faze her though, she ordered another pack. She also had a friend talking to MX who kept sneaking over to me tell me she “liked me” and for me to sneak my cell # in her pocket without the other girl noticing. Although she had an OK body, her face was even rougher than the one on my lap so I just kept smiling and nodding when she talked.

About this time, MX wanted to check out the other disco and had Rezah and one of her friends in tow. Rezah was a definite cutie and her friend was also easy on the eyes. I told my grinder that perhaps I’ll c her later. She got darn nasty and demanded that I pay her tip and barfine now. I laughed it off and repeated, “perhaps I’ll c u later” This went on for a few minutes, but I couldn’t shake her, She followed me outside and kept demanding I take her… crying… saying she liked me… she had to pay rent… the whole works. It soured my mood considerably and I finally told her to beat it. I got in the cab and shut the door. Drama seems to find me everywhere!

Funny how Rezah and Ayu seem to be the two that everyone seems to be attracted to right away. It would be interesting if yet another bule succumbs to their charms.

Not I. Although quite attractive, she didn't do much for me in terms of desire and chemistry. She knows she's better than the average ho and acts like it. My attitude is and will always be that they're the one that needs to make the sale and entice me to bite. If that's not their attitude, I have little use for them. Perhaps it was due to my sour state of being after my nasty girl ordeal (it just begun in part 1). She was friendly enough, spoke great english, and good looking. Vibes and chemistry was lacking tho.

When did Rezah become this superstar courtesean? It was a mere six months ago that she would close the deal in the disco with a gratis blow job on the dance floor, and then do the ST in the bathroom of your hotel room while your regular LT slept in the bed.

Actually Rezeh -- the chicken formaly known as Toilet Girl -- is a real sweetheart, attractive, and a lot of fun to hang with. I must be bitter cause the new high falutin' version of Rezah won't fuck me now. Guess I am just bitter.

I don't know why the Hollywood guys were insistent on price gouging. I have certainly brought them business and I stand out like a fat white man in Indonesia. However, I hope DM didn't feel pressure to turn down the booking because of my little discussion with them. Of course, as I suspect we will see in Part 2, I do owe DM an apology for dragging dumped misery back to him. Sorry about that DM.

i think it's because they are in fact, attractive...and definately know how to dress themselves up. The ability to speak a little english is also a big plus.

Last weekend, I ran into :

Reza two nights in a row at Steps where she seems to be "plying her trade".

With respect to Reszah, what is that cliche about working women? Oh you never lose the the girl, just your turn. Well I seem to be losing about fifty turns. grrrrrr

Well, Ayu was kind of silly cos my friend is a mild nice guy who is usually over generous beyond expectations!

In any case, I sent him Dewi that morning after I did her the night and morning and he happily kept her occupied while I did my revenge on Miko, one of Epi's new favourite spinners cos the last time, I did not do justice to my reputation! It was otherwise a most worthwhile weekend!
