I read a few posts about Jakarta and thought I would share my insight with you. First of all,
Stay at the Meridien or Shangri La if you can afford it. In the basmenet of the Meridien Hotel on Sudirman there is a club called Put Tiga Pulluh (Means Club 30!)...this place is all whores, all you can fuk and dont over pay them, gnenrally 300-400 thousand rups is enough, but u can get better. Bareback fucking is also allowed. Then in the Shangri La Hotel, Batts, FULL OF WHORES...but the whoes here act a little bit more stuck up and u dont get the hotties as much as u do in Tiga pulluh. Finnaly once all the pubs are done, ie after 1-2 am, u go to a place called "My Bar - Sports Bar" if the taxi driver dosent know it, find one who does, this place is packed with everything from underage to over age. here they are cheaper too, 200 - 300 and bareback fuking is normal here (duno about the dissases though!). There are a few other places also which are karioki joints but they rip you off too much its hardly worth it. I forgot the full name, but this club Stadium or something 2000 has a wide range of girls 300 USD but u will find AMAZING indo, Chinese and Russian girls here....its the biggest karioki joint its 4 floors and each floor has something to offer.

You are right about Tiga Puloh and Bats and My Bar (Blok M) except you missed out CJs at the Mulia Hotel.

Stadium (with 4 floors of Pub & Disco) is next to 1001 which is a perhaps the Karaoke cum Disco entertainment complex you referred to.
There are numerous such places around Jakarta and my recent visit tells me that 1001 is losing the business to some of the newer places somehow.

If you don't mind, this is my take on high priced places in all of South East Asia including Jakarta.
The fact that 1001 (and similar clubs) are priced high is because it is targetted at the wealthy and "haves" of Jakarta's business community and visiting Asian businessmen who MUST flaunt their wealth because it is part of the "quaint" behavior of Asian businessmen.

Its always "willing buyer willing seller" so perhaps should not be referred to as "rip off" but rather, HIGH PRICED. I do know there are some visiting Western businessmen who do pay these same prices because they are hob nobbing with these same Asian businessmen.

"Barebacking" is the norm in Indonesia rather than exception because local Indonesian men prefer barebacking. Probably because the "fear factor" of HIV - Aids is communicated less in this huge country than others.

In Medan, I once partied with a local Chinese gentleman for a few nights and he expressed that "higher end ladies are normally clean" and I was astounded by his belief!

This was a gentleman who partied and screwed his brains out all night for most of 10 years! And he claimed never to have contracted any disease over this same period. I asked him why and he said he believed it was also because his immune system was also very strong. Hmmmmm I wonder, and certainly would not encourage others to have the same belief so lets not start another heavy debate on this!

There are some of CH members here who do seek out and want barebacking. However, I personally think it should be a private and personal risk behavior that should remain private?

Mongerx who we are all expecting to furnish his report will surely deliver on his perspective of Jakarta's "fucking fest" as you put it and I am quite excited to read about it. WHERE THE HELL IS IT?

Another CH member is currently there right now and I understand that in these few days of a lengthy stay, has already succumbed to the "SPELL" which is the city of Jakarta!

We await his TR too provided he manages to extricate himself from this haven for men.

Jakarta, as I think of this city, I am looking at my calendar to find some time when I can hop on the short plane ride to one of my favourite playground in South East Asia.

AUTO 69, (or anyone else who can respond ASAP) I need help on finding this club, "My Bar-Sports Bar." (Perhaps, Monger X, Are you out there?) I read this post last night and have repeatedly tried to locate this nightclub, with absolutely NO success.

Where the F%#* is this place? The language barrier is driving me bananas and reading these TR's as a guide to get around Jakarta is a big help.

My Bar is on Jalan Palatehan in Blok M. Jalan Palatehan is a small street lined with bars, mostly expats. My Bar is kind of on a downswing and Top Gun is reported to be the hottest bar. These bars aren't really great until after 11PM


To get there, just tell your taxi driver Blok M, if they don't know Jalan Palatehan. Then once in Blok just have himask any Bajay, Ojek, or Taxi driver where Palatehan, My Bar, or Top Gun is.

1001 is also called 1K1 by the locals. I've spent some time there guzzling JW Gold, Tequila, and singing terribly.

Things have changed SF4dfish. In Kota joints you are required to purchase and use a condom these days. Atleast that is true for the bules.
