After reviewing different places to stay in Pattaya, I decided to chose the View Talay Villas in Jomtien Beach. Although it was not very much info about this place, I thought the website pictures and reviews listed were nice. Luckily, I was very impressed!
I wanted a place that was not too close to the action. I wanted privacy and something a little bit luxury. Since this was my first Thailand trip, I didn't want to spare any expenses. I wanted to go all out! I figure....if I am going on vacation, it has to be better than where I am currently staying. I also wanted this to be a memorable experience.
The Villa was about 7500 baht or close to $200 dollars a nite. Each Villa was secluded in a private secluded Community. The grounds were very impressive. Each Villa had its own swimming pool and even a area to have a private barbeque. Each Villa was beautifully furnished.
I stayed in about 3 different Villas during my initial stay because I wanted to experience each one. Here are some of the pictures of Villa and grounds.

I have liked the look of these villas for a while and intend to look at them with the thought of buying one. Do you you think they would be suitable for living in semi-permanantly? How far in terms of time from the action are they?

Wickedwilly....I was also considering the same thing, as their condo units were very nice. Pete, the owner of Classroom Go Go owns a unit as while and he highly recommends them.
A lot of people believe it is too far...but it's only a five minute bike ride, as this is in Jomtien Beach. If I was living there or had this had a summer home, I think it would be perfect as I like my privacy and this place is very secluded and safe. It is not that close to the action.....which I would prefer, as you would not want to live near a bunch of noise or go gos. IMO.

I am hopefully going to Pattaya in June and will have a good look at buying here. These properties should have good rental potential, which is important to me as I want to spend part of my retirement in BKK and Rio also.
There are also two other similar developments to View Talay Vilas:- View Talay Residence and Majestic Residence both look good too. Have a look at:-

I will check out all three if I get there in June and report back here.
