Okay...I tried to get Pattaya out of my mind and give Bangkok a try. I walked out of the hotel and decided to walk around and see if I could buy anything for my family back at home. I just remembered....I promised everyone a souvenir. I found a few things...then decided to return to the hotel and prepare for the evening.

As I was walking down one of the main streets...I seen a bunch of police cars approaching me with their lights flashing. I stopped to see what was going on....and to my surprise, I believe it was the Thailand King's motorcade. Man....they were travelling at high speeds and believe the King was in one of the three mercedes. It was an interesting site. Nothing like our Presidential motorcade....but still very impressive.

After returning back to the hotel, I decided to get some rest. I didn't sleep too much in Pattaya. I must have been tired....because I didn't wake up until it was dark outside. I decided to hit Nana Plaza. I remember seeing it during my walk earlier...so I decided to walk. Big mistake! But I thought the traffic was so congested....that it would take me forever to reach the Nana plaza by cab. Well....I was completely lost after about a hour of walking. I tried to look for buildings I recognized and walk that direction....but this didn't help either.

Realizing this could go on forever....I end up flagging down a cab. "Nana Plaza...please". Luckily...and to my surprise, the cab driver could speak very good english. "You look for lady.....huh". I started to think it was a mistake getting into this cab....because I heard how cabs will take you everywhere except the place you want to go."No....I'm meeting some friends at Nana Hotel". The cab driver paused....then started again, "But you like lady.....huh". I told him not tonite because I had other plans. I really wasn't interested in hitting any commissioned massage parlors.

Little did I know, but it is now way after 2:00 am and we were stuck in traffic trying to get near the Nana Hotel....and all the traffic was leaving in the opposite direction. It appeared that Nana plaza was closed and people were leaving. I thought....great!....what a perfect first nite in Bangkok.

I gave the driver my hotel card and told him to take me back to the hotel. He looked at me confused. I told him I probably missed my friends because I was late. He tells me "no problem"...I know a good place that is still open....beautiful ladies...police no problem. I told him, thanks..but no thanks. I didn't feel too comfortable about going to any strange places.

After we arrived at the hotel, he gives me his card and tells me that anytime I need a ride....just give him a call. I started to ask him about some of the tourist attractions and he started rambling on and on about different places to go and things to do. Despite his rambling, I decided to take him on his offer to see some of the attractions and took his card. I really did want to see some of the tourist attractions. I neede some good pictures to take home.

He refused to take any money from me...and stated I can pay him tommorrow. I arranged for him to come around noon the next day.

After he left, I went back up to my room. As I was walking past the reception, they indicated that my Penthouse suite was not going to be available.....so therefore, they will upgrade me to a two bedroom Penthouse Suite on the top floor for the same price. Great....maybe my bad luck streak is over.
