On this day I took things a little slower and took one girl LT from Bintang Mawar. Seena, I had taken for an onsite ST before and she was fantastic. While her face is lacking, her body is unbelievably banging. She is a little taller than average and when she wears those low riding oh so sight jeans. Dammmmm.

After a little pre-night out session in my room we had dinner with Porker and Chinngis and hit two new night spots for me. Chinngis has been spending a lot of nights in the Jaya Pub (Jl. MH Thamrin 12, Gedung Jaya) in Central Jakarta. So we went to check it out and it was a mixed place 70-30 expats to locals housed in a pub chuck full of atmosphere. They had two different bands that alternated on 45 minute sets. One band was geriatric and did a decent jon on classic rock tunes, the other band was a younger more hip and played current R&B tunes. The music was good and not at the usual deafening Indonesian volume. Also the place was well lit too.
As the progressed, more and more dressed to please the eye ladies showed up. Clearly this was a meat market in the making as I would say as most of the girls were in that 25-35 year range and definitely trolling for bule males 20 years their senior. I don’t think these are working girls, or if they are they are much more subtle about it. Also, there were more bowsers than beauty queens. However, my first impression is that this is a great place to pick-up for a one night stand or kick of a night and then head to Blok M or elsewhere after midnight. Unfortunately my little Kota kampong chicken was out her element in the blazing lights, uncomfortable near silence, and this strange brand of older sleazily dressed indo ladies throwing themselves at more bules than she had ever seen in her life.
So on to the next stop Crown Disco just south of the Glodok on Hayum Wuruk. Evidently Crown is another one of the multistory humungous dens of sex and entertainment. I saw that they had a health center (supposedly very upscale), the floor of Karaoke rooms, the music floor lounge, and the huge disco.
The disco cost 30K each to enter. Saturday is the night that most males go to the Disco, so on this night the place discos are always packed and the ratio of guys to girls present is bad. However, most locals are buying while many girlsare selling. I thought Crown Disco kicked ass, and is about 2/3 the size of Pacific Disco in Batam. Unlike Pacific disco, the Free lance girls did physically molest you to get your attention. However, I saw tons of really hot chicks; the average looks standards was higher here than Pacific disco. Every time, my girl went to the bathroom an average to hot looking girl tried to approach me. I saw one other bule face in the crowd of about 2 thousand. Also there was some sort of deal where if you bought 5 cans of beer you got 2 free. This is actually pretty cheap as we got 7 beers for 100K. Two rounds of that on top of the earlier drinking and we were pretty hammered.
We left the disco around 3AM, she wanted to “Makan dulu” eat before. So we took two orders of Bubur Ayam from a street vendor. Bubur is a thick rice porridge (it’s fucking gruel) an into it the put shredded chicken, peanuts, soy sauce, chili, tofu, and other stuff. It was actually damn tasty and hit the spot after a night of hard drinking and dancing. Unfortunately it sits in your stomach and puts you to sleep. I discovered this as I came out of the shower to Seena’s loud snores! Not happy I went to sleep and got a lousy hang over session around 11 AM when we woke up. Nice fun girl, but the onsite session was better than the take out.
However, I would say that both Jaya Pub showed lots of potential. Also, my visit to Crown Disco has convinced me to start chasing FL’ers in the Kota discos at night.

when i first went to jkt, i asked alot of people of their recommendations. The disco most recommended by penjay chicks was crown disco and was at the top of my list to visit on my return visit, but unfortunately i fell back into a routine and crown disco completely slipped my mind until murasaki brought it up in his TR. Can't wait to hit up this local disco next month and see what happens.
as for jaya pub, i think i know where you're talking about. it's sort of on the way to block M, before central jkt. it's located on a street that runs parallel to the main street. many other bars exist in this area as well.
If this sounds familiar, i almost explored it once, but didn't.

Jaya Pub is almost right across the street from the Sari Pacific Hotel. I think the street you are describing is Jalan Jaksa, kind of a low market back-packer english teacher stretch of places. I haven't checked it, but our freind Chinggis has. He said it was fun but went too early to see what the ayam situation is. From what I understand it is latest bule oriented place and a last chance for those types of girls to pick-up. So it's known as a place to get reasonable LT prices. But who wants to wait until 5 or 6 AM to save 50-100K?

Ahhhh Crown, my old friend. Did you make it into the VIP lounge to see the house dancers? Or did you stay in the big disco?

I only made it to the Crown Disco. But I want to make a thorough check of all the enterntainment floors. Does the music lounge have a fish tank and ST rooms like the third floor of Stadium?
I would agree with Socrates that Crown seems like the "in" disco now.
I think these music lounges are quite the untapped and undiscovered evening funspots. I really like the lounge in 1001. It's very easy to get the karoake and stripper girls to drink with you when they are not booked in for karaoke duty. Plus they get off early and usually ready to continue the fun afterwork. Much easy to work the "sneakout' here than at the brothels.

MX Where is 1001 sound good to me. What would be the best night to go to the Crown?
By Mongerx on Friday, June 02, 2006 - 11:32 am: Edit |
1001 is in the building next to Stadium Disco. If you go down Hayum Wuruk at night you can't miss the building with "1001" light up 50' tall. To get into 100 you have to go into the entrance and find the elevator in the car park. Take the elevator to the fourth floor.
I am not sure what the best night to go to Crown disco is, probably Weds- Fri? Saturday night in an Indonesian Disco is always jam packed with local guys. You can still hook-up with the FLers as these guys are customers but it a lot of white noise.

FL = Freelancer. A girl who doesn't have a mamasan nor is an employee of an establishment.
