I believe this destination can be economical depending upon your choices. Quality rooms can still be had for under $30/day. If you nursemaid the drinks, then you wont have to buy more. Make up your mind quick and dont pay for lady's drinks. Stay away from the more expensive places to eat. etc. As well, the peso is starting to weaken once more, almost up to 52. The way things are run there I have no doubt it will be up to 56 once more.

I was thinking of a way to curb costs and heard this budgeting method on the radio. Well, they were not talking about mongering though, but it still can apply here. Calculate how much money you are willing to spend before the trip. Next, get a bunch of envelopes with each one representing one seperate day of the trip. Divide your money into each envelope. When the money in an envelope runs out, thats it, its back to the hotel to watch some HBO.

You will always be conscious of your spending for fear of running out of cash in the envelope. You will probably never run out of cash if your more self-aware of what you have to spend for each day. All excess money is carried over to the next envelope.

Its not really a matter of how much money, it's a matter of value. AC is a destination that is only good if the costs are low as the talent is much lower than places like Thailand and Indonesia and even Manila. Not to mention that AC is a dirty shithole of a city with nothing to do. In places like Thailand, you can make an entire trip without mongering and it has the best food in the world. At that point, the only thing that favors AC is that the girls are pretty fun-loving and the bar owners are very accomodating to the customer.

As a guy who does not care much about costs, as of this moment I prefer AC to Thailand mostly because of the difference in the bar experience and the attitudes of the girls as you point out. The bars in Thailand except some of the beer bars have become merely a place to enter - pick out a piece of ass - and get the hell out. There are few if any go-gos that are conducive to having a good time within the bar. The bars in AC in general are still like the bars in LOS used to be. You can stay for quite a while and have a great time playing around with the service girls or any number of dancers. The drink pressure is nowhere near what it is in Thailand . The bar owners and mamasans - with a few exceptions - are not constantly pressuring you to barfine. As you know the trend in LOS is for ST encounters so the girls can pull multiple barfines for the benefit of the bar and herself. I was surprised to find out the ownewr of Classroom2 in AC actually forbids his dancers from coming back alone after they have been barfined. The girls and the mamasan told me he hates girls who run out on parfines and tries to protect his customers. Show me a bar in BKK that would do that. Runners still crop up in AC but nowhere near as frequently as in Thailand.

I agree the percentage of hotties is lower in AC but there are plenty of very good looking girls and I think the number of spinner types is way up in AC compared to even 2 years ago. The poercentage of girls who at least act like they are truly greateful to be with you is WAAY higher in AC right now. There has been a big decline in the attitude of the Thai bargirls. I had to search a lot harder my last trip in LOS to find a girl I really felt I could have fun with and connect with . It did not used to be such a search.

I've had more drinks bought for me in one night in AC than in 20 years in LOS so I totally agree that the bar owners are much more customer oriented. The Thailand bar owners for some reason have never grasped the idea that if you are buying Lady Drinks and suddenly get a free drink yourself- it is almost a certainty that you are going to buy another Lady Drink - or 4. :-)

Anyway I feel that AC more than holds it's own right now in comparison to BKK and even Pattaya. I firmly believe that's the reason that cheap flights from BKK to Clark have never appeared. Toxin and the Tourism Authority of Thailand say they do not welcome sex tourists but they are also truly afraid of losing them.

Bottom line -- It's ALL good and I'll be back in Thailand in October.

I regard AC as a fun "small town" stink hole which has a certain appeal, but there just is never enough doables in the town to make it worth the trip IMHO. I've always had a blast, but then again I'm ready to leave after 3-4 days. If one has a couple hombres to partying it up with in AC, it does have a lot to offer (cheaper booze, bars open longer).

well, your assuming the changes were in effect or apparent beyond that period... IMHO things have changed in LoS quite a bit RECENTLY at least from my barstool.

The writing was SCREAMING off the wall at me from my first trip to Thailand 3 years ago: Girls were overpriced and too into getting off and getting the hell back home to their BF's. But then again, I'm not as charming as you are!

Angeles is just..... easier. More relaxed. Cheaper.

Blazers, I don't understand how Angeles is more expensive than Pattaya - in the priciest AC go-gos, you can't pay more than P1300 ($26) all-in for LT. Walking Street go-gos charge THB 3-600 ($8-15) for barfine, and the girls expect 1500 ($40) ST and 2000 ($50) LT (okay, you can argue, but I'm not into it - makes it even more of a transaction and less an adventure.) Santos is cheaper than Soi 6 for equivalent services. Both towns have decent accomodations for 30 bucks a night.

If you long for a greater pulchritude index in RP, Cebu has more Spanish blood and offers prettier, taller, more buxom and more motivated ladies (fewer tourists) at about AC rates.

Blazers point is about value. Pattaya may be 20-30 dollars more per woman, but the women are much better looking. So although you pay a little bit more, you get a lot better looks. There is also nothing to do in the daytime in Angeles where you get a beach and some culture in Pattaya.

Its not a fact that the women in Thailand are better looking, its a subjective argument where most people agree that the women in Thailand have better looks. Some people may be more attracted to the Filipino varieties.

I do not agree that Manila has the better looking women. There are still many good looking women in Angeles, although, they are mostly hidden by some obviously unattractive types I compare to static on a radio station that obstructs you from hearing the songs clearly. The bars in Manila are not designed specifically for dedicated mongers like the ones in Angeles. They appear to be more geared for the traveling business types. So of course they are more expensive and recruit cleaner looking women.

Khunmor's point is about attitude. The attitude in Angeles City is friendlier and more welcome. You feel as if this location is a second home and your not actually visiting this place. On my last visit, I was able to walk into certain bars and sit down and talk with the ladies without any intention on barfining anyone.

When you do barfine the Angeles women, they make you feel like your a friend and not just another "John". They even give you their cellphone, yahoo id, etc. and want to have a connection with you even after the night is well past. The time in spent in bed feels more intimate because you have the perception that this person is more like a friend.

The main reason I would want to revisit Angeles on my next trip is because I feel like Im going back to visit friends. Its like "Norm" going into cheers. Now Im smarter then you think. I know these people may be patronizing me just to get a few extra pesos and they are not really my true friends. However, they make the effort to make me feel welcome instead of eagerly trying to rush out the door in interests of trying to get another paying customer under their belts. I can bet you anything that if you went to Angeles and spoke to the people at the Royal Amsterdam, gave them a description about me based upon what you have seen here on the board, they would know me and tell you my name. They would also tell you where I came from in America and my interests.

On my next trip, I will probably not go to the Philippines, but to Pattaya as I would like to diversify my experiences. Im still out on the Jakarta experience based upon the pictures I have seen here on the board. My opinion is that the Jakarta women do not look that attractive. I would like to hear more about the Jakarta experience such as just how good these women are in bed when compared to their other southeast asian counterparts.

If you just go to bed with a woman strictly based upon pictures and looks, then you are in for a rude awakening. As of this moment I will keep my opinion about AC over Thailand in terms of girls attitude and I speak Thai quite well - zero Tagalog.

I think some of the difference in attitude may be that many Filipinas are a bit more desperate to hook up with a poriner and get the hell out of the bar life and the country. I remember my first few trips to Angeles City. I too delighted in the "twinkling eyes" of these new and interesting creatures. Its shocking to see guys brag about not wearing condoms and cumming inside prostitutes. Since the 90s, I have been tested for HIV every 4 months (negative) and make every attempt to wear condoms although I will admit it sometimes does not happen on a rare occasion.

I just got back my results last week and they came back negative (again). Every monger that I've traveled with in SEA gets regular bloodwork done. Can't speak for all of the people visiting foreign countries to have sex with prostitutes, but then again that's not my job. You are using less then 1/3 of that town's potential. Why would you go to Thailand or any other destination in SEA when you haven't even explored a big chunk of THIS city?
