Day One (Saturday) - If it is to be done, let it be done quickly

I cleared customs and was in the arrival hall at 11:15am. Beautiful! Part of my deal with Omni gave me an airport pickup and I looked for the sign with my name. Nothing! Was I in the right place? Or more likely, did the driver figure I couldn't possibly be exiting 15 minutes after landing? Either way I wasn't going to waste time. I went upstairs, changed some money, went back downstairs and got a cab. Yes, I know, if you get the cab from the airport it's 600baht and if you walk down the street you can get a cab for only 200baht. I looked around first and let me tell you, it can be intimidating. I'm not going to walk around in the heat (it was about 90 and HUMID) not knowing where I'm going, to save $10. It's not worth it. The cab driver I got was nice, spoke good English and brought me right to the Omni in 30 minutes via the expressway. I was shocked by how close the Omni was to the Nana Entertainment Plaza - I didn't think it was within walking distance, but it was! Awesome! I just always imagined everything was more spread out. I checked into the Omni and let them know that the driver wasn't there and I would be taking my free transfer on my trip back to the airport. They were very courteous and apologetic, so things were looking up. I had reserved a one-bedroom superior (65m as opposed to standard 52m) for 2000baht a night, including breakfast and the phantom airport pickup). I did this on the internet via www.asiatours.net. You can also book the Omni Tower directly with their owner at www.the-ascott.com Contrary to a couple of posters' experiences on this board, I received prompt and accurate email responses and took hard copy of same in case of any misunderstandings (which there weren't) They gave me a room key to 3401. Love those high floors. (Omni Tower is 35 stories) I took the elevator upstairs and unlocked the door. Absolutely Perfect. Guys, let me tell you, the suite was huge. I saw a picture of an Omni suite on this board and it was much smaller than 3401. If you book at the Omni, ask for 3401 or a suite like it. You will not be disappointed. The kitchen was smallish but met all of my needs, the living room had a couch, loveseat, dining room table and one TV, the bathroom was great, and the master bedroom was huge, also with a couch, TV and walk-in closet with safe. Separate air conditioning for the living room and bedroom. I'm an air conditioning freak and I can tell you that I was very satisfied. The room was made up properly every day (wasn't sure about that since it was a serviced apartment, not a hotel) and the two times I used the laundry service it was fast and perfect. There's an Internet café (with two stations) downstairs open 'til 10pm, there's a nice pool on the 8th floor and a great view of the skyline. I was impressed and I don't impress easily.

I took a shower, the first of about 100 showers that I took while over there. When I got out of the bathroom, it was noticeably cooler in the bedroom & living room. Love that A/C!

Now I didn't know how to dress, but I figured shorts & casual for the daytime and pants and more dressy for the evening. I headed down to the lobby. It was 1:00pm and I was ready to discover Bangkok.

I walked on Soi 4 towards Sukhumvit which is the main strip in Bangkok. Basically Sukhumvit runs east/west and the "Sois" run north/south into and from Sukhumvit. I timed it and it was a seven-minute walk from the Omni Tower lobby to the entrance of Nana Plaza and the Nana Hotel. It was 6 city blocks long. [Note: Omni Tower started their own tuk-tuk (3-wheeled motorcycle) service from Omni to Nana Plaza and the SkyTrain entrance, so even if you don't want to walk, you can get to Nana Plaza without using a taxi. This service was to begin in mid-November.] I spent the next 2 hours getting my bearings, taking in the sights and trying to decide on which barbershop to go in. There are tons of these shops in the Soi 4 area and I wanted to get a shave, manicure, and pedicure. I stopped in one that didn't look too busy and sat down in the chair. The manicure & pedicure was good, but the shave was awful. My face was nicked all over and there were bloodstains on my shirt. Not a great start. That ended my touring as my torn-up face made me go back to the hotel. I swear I was still bleeding after my second shower of the afternoon. I changed shirts and got right back on the horse. Went up and down Sukhumvit looking at tailor shops; I went in a couple but wasn't impressed. Saw a Thai Massage place right off Sukhumvit and Soi 4 and went in. Got a very good traditional Thai Massage in a not so private area with massage areas separated only by curtains. Was not offered any additional services - this was a real straight place. Two hours cost 300 baht - only $7.00. I tipped the girl one hundred baht and got my first wai of the trip. Walked back to the Omni and made my game plans for the evening.

I wanted to hit Nana Plaza and hit it early. My plan was to go to a few of the go-go bars that were talked about on Club Hombre, get a girl to go long-time and see the sights of Bangkok with my "guide" before going back to the Omni. My thinking on going early was this: Choosing a girl in a go-go bar is like renting a car at Avis, with the exception that all of the cars are the same price. I mean, if you could rent a Cadillac or a compact car for the same price, wouldn't you go for the Cadillac? And wouldn't you think they'd run out of Caddies pretty early? I also approached going to Nana like I was trying to meet a woman in a bar after work. I dressed well, smelled fresh and looked good. I could have gone the Hawaiian shirt and unshaven "I'm on vacation" look, but I figured my experiences would be better if I approached this like a date. I entered the plaza and walked around on ground level before realizing I had passed the stairs to go up to where the go-go bars were. It was 7:30 and my first stop was G-Spot on the 2nd level in the back. I walked past hordes of girls standing outside their bars, getting made up or just chatting with their friends, many calling out, trying to get my attention. Land of Smiles? This is the Land of Self-Esteem. These girls know where their bread is buttered and they work it. Made my way to G-Spot, went inside and the place was empty. Made a quick U-turn and found Angel Witch, also on the second level. Went inside and hello ladies!!! Only about 3 or 4 customers and about 20 girls on stage. Music was good and loud and they had an NBA game on! I sat down, ordered a Heineken and checked out the talent. A quick survey showed 5 girls that were definitely doable. It was only 7:45 and I could see there were other girls coming in and every time I thought I had my mind made up I saw another one I had to have. They kept getting better and better. I started to become more selective - this one dances better than that one, I like the way this one smiles, look at how this one interacts with the other girls; hopefully all clues to finding a playful, happy playmate. Off go the first twenty girls and on come the next string. I see one standout, with major c-cups and she's basically fucking the pole, this is going to be the first bang in Bangkok. I call a waitress over and tell her which one I like, she lets her know and I'm immediately flashed a big smile. Waitress tells me she'll be over after the dance set and I'm happy to wait. 10 minutes later Nim comes over for the interview and a drink. Her English is very understandable and she seems like a lot of fun. I tell her I just got into town and would she like to go out with me tonight. She looks a little puzzled and asks short time or long time and I tell her long time. She says fine, I pay the bar fine of 500 baht and she goes to change. I order a second Heineken and realize this is going to be the best vacation I've ever had. Nim comes out 10 minutes later looking even hotter than before. She finishes her drink and asks me what I want to do. I tell her, you're the boss, I want to have a good time. She asks me if I like to play pool and I tell her if it's eight ball, I'm playing. Grabbed a taxi and went to Soi Cowboy to the beer bar plaza located right before the strip of go-go bars, which was high on my list to check out. We got out and were warmly greeted by her friends at the bar. Now I've read where some guys want to go straight to the hotel and get down to business. But I wanted to see Bangkok and their way of living and I figured to best way was to follow their lead. If it wasn't fun, then I could change my plan of action, but my first instinct was to go with the flow and that proved to be key on this trip. I shot about 12 games of pool, bought plenty of drinks for everyone and bought dinner for Nim and me at a noodle cart outside the bar. Just then it started to pour and we ate as we watched an incredible thunderstorm that lasted an hour. It was great because it broke the humidity and it didn't rain again the whole trip. It was around midnight and I started getting tired. I paid the bill, which was around 800 baht. An entire evening of pool and drinks for $20! Compared with the 3-4 $12 martinis I have every Friday night at Delmonico's and I'm thinking I could get used to this. 15 minutes later I was signing her in downstairs (a security requisite at Omni Tower) and we took the elevator up. Nim was very impressed with the Omni. In case you were wondering, except for the bar fine, money was never mentioned and this would be the case with every girl I went with except one. I went into the bathroom, and took my first ever dose of Viagra, 25m. We then watched a little TV and took separate showers. Between being tired and a little out of shape, the Viagra proved invaluable. 30 minutes after taking it, I became more fully erect than I can ever remember becoming. I've never had problems before, but this made me feel like I was in high school again. I mean, my Johnson just put its head down and charged, there was no stopping it. It was a force to be reckoned with. My first night in Bangkok was in the books, and it was a winner.

I love your writing style. You get right to the point but you very descriptive about what was going through your mind as a newbie. I have seen this girl before and can attest to the fact that she is much better looking in person. The camera flash has a tendency to make facial makeup glow in the dark. Great fuckin job.

Excellent start to this report. As a fellow who is also tempted to go to BKK, your newbie's perspective is welcome. Looking forward to the updates, and I can't wait to go myself. Nim loks beautiful!

Thanks Blazers, Superfly. The one thing I kept reading over & over was that Thai girls just did not photograph well. I can now attest to that myself. Throw in that I rarely take pictures and these were taken with a disposable camera and I'm surprised they look as good as they do. They are incredible in person. Superfly - make the reservation; it was the best vacation I ever took. And as you'll see in the report, it just kept getting better & better.
