Oh just fuckin great!!!!!

"My goal of moving SureBeam from an excellent idea to building a business foundation for its continued growth has been realized," said Larry Oberkfell. "I am excited by the success we've had -- going from ground zero to having over 5,000 retail supermarkets offering SureBeam processed ground beef in less than two years and trending upward. I leave knowing that a solid leadership team is in place that will take it to the next phase. SureBeam's future is far brighter today than when I joined the company and I am proud to have played a role in achieving that. This opportunity at Schwan's, one of the world's largest privately-owned food companies, is a natural progression for me."

CEO announces he is leaving a drowning ship.

I sell tomorrow and take my tax write off.

No Kendricks, I don't want to discuss tax write offs.

I SURE am excited about electricution, but thinking about an individual, not hamburger.

Boozing causing my gout to flare up, OUCH!!!!, ever had gout???

It's all fucking George Bush's fault.

Electrocute me please.

Today, another 24 de-monetizing hours.

How much is a garbage can full of empty beer cans worth at the re-cycling center?

I may throw another 10K at SURE today.

By Kendricks on Thursday, March 06, 2003 - 06:41 am:  Edit

On the bright side, IMCL sure is doing well! Did you follow my advice on that trade, Ben? I SURE hope so.

By Ldvee on Thursday, March 06, 2003 - 07:05 am:  Edit

Life's a compromise,

Just threw another $5K at SURE

By Ben on Thursday, March 06, 2003 - 07:26 am:  Edit

Fuck you Kendricks (again) and you to Ldvee.

Ldvee, regarding the empty beer cans, Milkman knows the answer to that question as he steals beer cans from homeless people.

Holy Shit,
SURE down over a dollar at the open this morning.
I paid $4.69 a share for a 1,000 shares on 2-06-03. Curently selling for $3.17. I think I could have more fun in TJ.

By Ldvee on Thursday, March 06, 2003 - 07:51 am:  Edit

well I'm in the hole too. I successfully traded from 2 to 4 and then decided to go long in a big (for me) way @ about 4.70 when the stream of retailers came on line. I've been losing paper money since.

It's a big gamble but you know the line, nothing ventured, nothing gained.

The anti-electrocuted meat folks Public Citizen, Nadar's group, is saying that McDonalds is close to offering electronic burgers, only place I've heard that and they're a bunch of liars.

Walmart has quietly started selling it in a small number of stores.

We'll seeeeeeeeee.

Maybe the ONLY reason the CEO left was because of better pay. His new compnay employees 25,000 people across the U. S. and Europe. Surebeam employees approximately 135 people.

Exactly, this guy is well connected in the food industry and no doubt he'll make a lot more money, with more security and fewer hours at an established company like Schwanns. Plus Schwanns is privately held which makes being an executive so much easier.

There could be other reasons that are bad for SURE but I haven't heard any and although I'm not an insider, it is a local company and I'm very knowledgeable about the process and know a few other "knowledgeable" people. No I don't work there.

The key to a POSSIBLE quick buck is the FDA approval of ready-to-eat meats. I'll try to find time to do some google research today and let you know if I find anything.

Feel better bunky??

By Ben on Thursday, March 06, 2003 - 08:54 am:  Edit

Feel better?

Uh No

I was just trying to make you feel better. I only own a 1,000 shares.

This guy looks like he sold most of his shares a year ago at around $5.75 per share.

It's now 450pm pacific. If I'm playing waith stocks today I'd buy a bundle. My gamble is it'll go up tomorrow.

What do you buy?

By Ldvee on Thursday, March 06, 2003 - 07:40 pm:  Edit

Well what can I say? Couldn't pass up buying after an irrational sell stampede. Then it went lower.

War real soon. Think I'll just forget about the market for a while.

Does that make sense??

I know, I know, the way I invest it makes ultimate sense.

Geeee!!

What a bargain.

SURE currently selling at $2.94.

And no Kendricks, writing options will not work on this stock today.

Ben in late at 7900 again!

Ldvee I'll go for 7800 for next friday

T_Bone Dow 7701

T_Bone has to be 7700

Looks like T_Bone is going to win todays Dow Lotto and Ldvee is going to come in second place(trying to say something nice to cheer up Ldvee).

Ben picks 7350 for next week

By Kendricks on Friday, March 07, 2003 - 01:42 pm:  Edit

7543 for Kendricks.

At least it now appears that SURE is declining at a slower rate than it has been lately (trying to say something nice to cheer up Ldvee).

By Dickjohnson on Friday, March 07, 2003 - 06:07 pm:  Edit

AM I RIGHT OR WHAT? You guys would be making money if you listened to me. People selling at the end of the day/beginning of next day then it keeps going up. I was playing with this thingy last year while I was travelling. I made some spare change(a coupla grand after fees) despite during those months stocks keep going down down down. When I got back I sold all my stocks cuz I don't believe in trading stocks(for some strange reasons). Had I kept it I would have made 20-30 grand as stocks I was playin with kept going up (after 9/11/02).

By Ldvee on Friday, March 07, 2003 - 06:48 pm:  Edit

Thanks for the effort Ben. I'm really not looking forward to doing my weekly tally tomorrow. The scuttlebutt is just what the PR said, the guy got a great job offer, told the board one day and the next day they told the world, just like they're supposed to do. Jittery market.

So I wait, the only way I'm selling for a loss is if the biz plan doesn't work and they head towards BK, otherwise I wait. Fuck.

Plus now I have to prepare for war. Zoloft, Prozac, beer, something. I'm a gentle soul and wars really bother me in a very subtle but real way. And fuck you guys who are going to give me shit for being that way!

Hey DICK, "You guys would be making money if you listened to me"

what did you say, DICK??? 8^)

I don't have a clue about next week, I'm checking the bet, besides I'll be in a beach front Waikiki hotel with a TJ fave.

hohoho, I'm feeling better already.

Best news of the day is for for Ldvee to be on Waikiki Beach with a TJ hottie.

Did I ever tell you guys about the two condos I bought in Waikiki along the Ala Wai canal twenty years ago. About three blocks from Waikiki Beach looking out on the golf course. Two other perverts and of course me (my accountant and my banker) and I bought these two places and held them for about three years. Lots of pussy and lost probably 15-20k for the experience.

My accountant must have visited Hawaii at least ten times during that three year period and never saw any part of Hawaii except the taxi ride from the Honolulu Airport to Waikiki Beach.

What is a wild thing to do?

Buying SURE or taking a TJ chica to Hawaii?

I assume this lady is able to cross into San Diego as well as go to Hawaii?

By Ldvee on Monday, March 10, 2003 - 08:33 am:  Edit

Buying SURE looks like a stupid thing to do, so now I'm stuck with it for awhile. But if the biz goes according to plan I'll recover.

Yeah, she's a seasoned pro, well travelled, very mellow. Totally savvy on passport, visas, and such. Fits well into any situation, so to speak.

That's one of my problems with the younger gals, they're essentially clueless.

BTW, I agree with you on the debate about Iraqi oil, however I'm hoping that if we go to fucking war there are some oil spoils in terms of favorable business arrangements.

I am sure the American companies will get allot of the business that is now going to the French. Particularly since the French have been so unsupportive of the U.S. It is my understanding that the U.S. had assured the French and the Russians that a new Iraq government would honor the current contracts both the French and Russians have with Saddam's government. I would guess all bets are now off on those guarantees, but of course I could be wrong.

The French have had a major interest in the oil business in Iraq for many years, but the U.S. had a big presence in both Iran and Iraq up until the over throw of their governments in the 70's.

A company that will definitely make allot of money is the little penny stock Boots and Coots (WEL). Now there is a speculative penny stock where you could lose all your money yada yada yada.

Here are some companies that could really do well in a post war Iraq: HAL, SBL(they may be in Iraq now as I think they are really owned by a French company), MDR, SII and other drilling and oil service companies.

"I'm too uninterested in mundane things such as money."

come on man, what are you rich already, or some kind of hippy? either way you must be young and not worried about how to pay for viagra after the prostate-ectomy.

Why should have you been a stockbroker? Is this a case of Ben envy?

You know it's been a good bet every day for the past year or more that the market will go up, it hasn't.

Buy low, sell lower, that's my motto.

After a day like today, if the buyers don't come out tomorrow, things are fucked up.

American Airlines

http://finance.yahoo.com/q?s=AMR&d=c&k=c1&a=v&p=s&t=2y&l=on&z=m&q=l

By Kendricks on Tuesday, March 11, 2003 - 07:23 am:  Edit

By its most recent quarterly balance sheeet, American Airlines has 30.2 million in tangible assets, and 28.99 million in liabilities. With over 155 million shares outstanding, this gives each share a tangible book value of about 78 hundredths of a cent.

At $2.19 per share, each share is selling at over 280 times its tangible book value. Since it also LOST $3.5 billion in 2002 (over $22.50 per share), AMR seems to be dramatically overvalued at current levels.

By Ben on Tuesday, March 11, 2003 - 10:23 am:  Edit

I know Ldvee didn't buy any AMR last year as I advised him(at no cost) to stay away from that company and the only airline stock I liked was Southwest Airlines.

I am SURE he followed that advice.

By Kendricks on Tuesday, March 11, 2003 - 11:36 am:  Edit

I SURE don't understand what motivates people to buy stock in companies with tons of debt that are losing money hand over fist. Why pay over $2 for a share of a company that is worth less than a penny? I wouldn't buy AMR with Ldvee's money.

Do you think someday Surebean will actually get one of these farmers or butchers to pay for the electrocution of their meat or produce?
