I will feel much better after I buy CRIO and PHCC tomorrow. Look for FONR to appreciate, too (I bought some today at 1.22).
Why do I say these things?
CRIO has been moving sideways for weeks after a huge up move, and volume is building. CRIO also has no debt, is selling for a reasonable price, and is losing money at a much slower rate than it was in the past.
PHCC dropped to the bottom of its trading range today, but has excellent fundamentals. There is a high probability it will retrace at least part of today's down move tomorrow. If it is slightly down more on the open, I will be all over it.
FONR's fundamentals don't look good at first glance, but its revenues are growing, and will continue to grow with sales of its Stand-Up(TM) MRI - which, unlike electrocuted meat, is something that people will actually benefit from! FONR's volume has been building, too. This should be a good one to buy and hold on to for a while.

Thanks for the ideas. I really do enjoy and appreciate your ideas.
You know I was kidding about "I don't care how you feel" and just trying to be a jerk.
Hey do me a favor and check out the ICOS thread. There is a guy over there named cocast1 that is really getting on my nerves. I need a hit man(you are the numero uno) to put him in his place.
By Kendricks on Thursday, June 12, 2003 - 07:08 am: Edit |
I got into CRIO this mroning at $1.50. PHCC is dropping like a stone! I hope it goes all the way to 5.50 like REGN did. I wouldn't dream of buying this stock until it shows clear signs of firming up; there is no telling how far it will drop.
I added a few comments on the ICOS board, too.
Cheers!
By Kendricks on Thursday, June 12, 2003 - 07:13 am: Edit |
I only took half of the position I intend in CRIO, since it is at the top of its range, but looks like it may blast off. If it pulls back near 1, or shoots up and then pulls back near current levels, I will add the other half.
I knew you were kidding, btw. I laughed when I read that!
By Kendricks on Thursday, June 12, 2003 - 07:29 am: Edit |
PHCC is roaring back now. I think I'll pass on this one, at least until it settles down. Too fast for me.
By Ben on Thursday, June 12, 2003 - 07:31 am: Edit |
CRIO has been having unusually high volume the past few days while moving up.
This move up is probably reflected by the over all market, but large volume and upward movement is a good sign.

This has ben a long road and it appeared a couple of weeks ago that the trip was about over. Now all the news on Freddie Mac comes out.
The good news is this client might make a small profit after almost two years. Also if the client had just purchased this stock as a buy and hold they would be losing approx. $4000 at its current price.

Ldvee is looking good and in fact won this weeks "Dow Theory".
Ben thinks it will pull back to 9010 next week.
Incidently has anyone noticed my last two stock picks: Michaels Stores and ICOS Corporation
Bought Michaels Stores MIK May 21 at $32.63 and current price is $37.91. Bought ICOS Corporation ICOS at $36.22 on June 5 and the current price is $43.12
It is amazing how smart I am when the market goes up.

Here's an interesting stock
Eastman Kodak (EK)
$13 billion annual revenue
5.8% dividend yield
and it's about at its 5 year low
it appears that the risk/reward ratio on this one is pretty damn small
new addition to the ldvee mutual fund
9060 next week
By Kendricks on Saturday, June 14, 2003 - 07:42 am: Edit |
This probably is a good long-term entry point for EK. It doesn't look like it is going anywhere quickly in the near term future, but it does appear that it is starting to work its way off of its lows, and that it has plenty of room to appreciate in coming years. It's not the kind of stock I look for, but it does seem to be relatively safe, and it obviously has upside potential as well as pay a dividend.
By Ben on Saturday, June 14, 2003 - 09:58 am: Edit |
I heard some investment guru on CNNBC talking about EK last week.
Was that you Ldvee?
I agree that it is a stock to make money on over the long term. I don't know much about photography, but it seems thay have embraced the digital camera. I would guess only old bastards like me still use film.
By Ldvee on Saturday, June 14, 2003 - 10:18 am: Edit |
I was analyzing my portfolio last night, in lieu of suckumbing (milkster's spelling) to temptation and scouting for another Ldvee ZN all-star, and it looks like since October much has been on the rise. Man, as of last week all my cash is gone, 100% equities.
Risky business.
But it's all in huge companies, many pay dividends, and you name a sector, I have a piece.
It will interesting to see if I beat the averages.
Oh, plus I have a 17K SURE capital loss on the books this year. Fookin piece of shit story stock that turned into a nightmare.

I like AKS at this level and entry point. Why? At 3.04, it is only .29 off of its recent lows, which are its lows going back for a long, long time. Possibly since before 1994, that is as far back as I could find data.
But it also appears that the falling knife has stopped falling - for the past seven weeks, it has been in a tight trading range near these recent lows, on high volume.
I am considering buying 1,000 shares on Monday (depending upon the opening), and putting a stop in at 2.73. Just over a 10% loss if it continues to fall, but incredible upside if it busts up higher, which I consider to be more likely. I wouldn't want to put any substantial part of my capital on this trade, but I think it is easily worth a $300 risked loss. I would be surprised if it gapped open substntially lower at this point.
Yes, this stock's fundamentals suck, but it does not appear to be going out of business (from what I have seen), so it appears that all of its bad news are already priced into its firesale price. It looks like a great risk/reward play to me.
By the way, I had a fucking killer day yesterday, and will be sure to write up a trip report as soon as I have time to do so. I have to go into the office right now and get some fucking work done, though.

It is looking good.
I think it is going to keep moving up.
Maybe I should buy some?
Thanks for the ICOS comment.
By Kendricks on Monday, June 16, 2003 - 10:10 am: Edit |
No, I took my profit on SGDE on that last spike. I think I got out at around 10.60, if I remember right.
I've been taking profits too quickly on these trades. I'm going to settle down now, and look for some stocks I think show some good potential to appreciate, instead of taking the quick 5 - 15 % profits.
Right now, other than the covered call trades, I am back in PQUE, and am also in FONR and CRIO.

Dow 9159
By Ldvee on Tuesday, June 17, 2003 - 05:07 am: Edit |
I'd like to file a motion with the rules committee to have T-Bone's pick declared invalid because of lateness of submission.
We live in a society based upon laws that have been deliberated and refined since the days of the ancient Greeks. To flagrantly violate these laws undermines the very foundation of law and order.
Besides, it's fuckin' cheatin' and I was all set to win again. What a creepo.
By Ben on Tuesday, June 17, 2003 - 07:22 am: Edit |
Ldvee,
I agree that T_Bone is using a "Sammy Sosa" type strategy in making his picks. I also think just knowing that all of T_Bone's records are tainted is enough satisfaction.
The way to resolve this is to have two awards each week when T_Bone is late with his forcast. The "pure and honest" winner and the "corrupt winner" award.
Just think of the pleasure you will derive when you are a double winner(against all odds), which of course will be impossible for T_Bone.
Dow Theory:

Imagine the satisfaction when you are a TRIPLE WINNER, and hit the DOW on the nose with a pick made before Monday's open.
Of course, I am the only one who has ever done that. The really amazing thing is that I did it THREE TIMES.
I am also great at picking stocks with huge upside potential, and then selling before that potential is realized. CHINA is the latest gutwrenching example...
By Kendricks on Tuesday, June 17, 2003 - 09:04 am: Edit |
Ben, the Sammy Sosa reference went over my head. What is Sosa's dirty strategy?

Didn't you use to own Frontier Airlines?
Nice move up today and for the past few months.
By Kendricks on Wednesday, June 18, 2003 - 09:01 am: Edit |
I did buy FRNT for a covered call trade a while back. I made almost 10% on the trade, and let it be assigned. I haven't owned it since, but I wish I did.
Right now, everything I see that I might be interested in buying is not at a reasonable entry point. I'm going to wait for all the stars to align before I try any more trades.
By Ben on Wednesday, June 18, 2003 - 11:01 am: Edit |
The market will probably fall back when the next quarter earnings come out.
By Kendricks on Wednesday, June 18, 2003 - 02:05 pm: Edit |
EK took a 10% hit today, citing decreased tourism due to SARS, a weak dollar, and the emerging popularity of digital photography. This could be a good entry point, if it holds today's lows.
By Ben on Wednesday, June 18, 2003 - 04:25 pm: Edit |
I saw the EK at the open and it was ugly.
I remenber someone on this board recommending EK aprox. a week ago, buy when I considered the source I declined to even consider the company.
I SURE am glad I stayed away.
By Ldvee on Wednesday, June 18, 2003 - 06:40 pm: Edit |

By Ben on Wednesday, June 18, 2003 - 07:55 pm: Edit |
EK was at over $70 five years ago and closed today at $28.77. Now that is what I call a long term investment.
Gee, after another five years you SURE ought to be really happy.
By Kendricks on Wednesday, June 18, 2003 - 08:54 pm: Edit |
Two days to expiration, and my covered call trades on USG, AEIS, NANX, and MCDT are all well in the money.
These trades all averaged between 5 and 9 percent over the past five weeks. That equates to a 52% to a 93% APR. Not bad!
By Ldvee on Wednesday, June 18, 2003 - 09:25 pm: Edit |
oh gimme a break will ya
I'm just learning what buy low sell high means
it's muy complicado

Glad to see you are changing from the "Buy High and Sell Low" strategy. HA.
Good luck on EK. I wonder when they will cut their dividend?
By Ldvee on Thursday, June 19, 2003 - 08:40 am: Edit |
I'll come up with another buy recommendation tonight and you guys can short it.
At last, a SURE winner stock market strategy. 8^)
By Ben on Thursday, June 19, 2003 - 09:54 am: Edit |
I will be busy this afternoon, but look forward to seeing your next recommendation.
By Kendricks on Thursday, June 19, 2003 - 09:57 am: Edit |
Take a look at FONR. At 1.20, it is a hell of a bargain. This company is run by the inventor of the MRI, and has a patent for a new stand up MRI.
This is one of the best risk/reward plays I have ever seen. I bought 3,000 shares last week, and another 1,000 this morning. If the price drops, I will probably buy more.
By Kendricks on Thursday, June 19, 2003 - 04:13 pm: Edit |
For a close look at FONR's new product, go to www.stocktonmri.com
It looks like their customers are using the standup MRI as a huge selling point. This stock has nowhere to go but UP!!!

By Ben on Friday, June 20, 2003 - 11:08 am: Edit |
That stock is a winner. I wish I had bought it when you suggested.
By Ben on Friday, June 20, 2003 - 12:17 pm: Edit |
Kendricks,
Really a nice call on SDGE. You first suggested this stock at under $10 about a month ago. It has traded as high as $11.90 today. Up over 20% since you mentioned it.
I liked the stock from day one, but just didn't pull the trigger.
Damn!
I am having all my June options called away which is just fine with me as I think the market is really over bought.
I guess I could buy some EK cheap (what an ugly weekly chart) but you know who recommended it. HA!!
By Ben on Friday, June 20, 2003 - 01:21 pm: Edit |
T_Bone gets the "corrupt winner" award which we all know is less important than the "pure and honest" award which goes to Ldvee.
Ben picks 9000 for next week.
The bear trap has been set and ready to grab all the newly arrived investors.
By Kendricks on Friday, June 20, 2003 - 01:28 pm: Edit |
It was a nice call, but I only made a very small profit. I should have held it, instead of selling on a spike. Oh well, at least I made something on the deal.
All of my stocks I wrote options on were assigned today, too, which is what I like to see.
