The damn thing is that anything is possible regarding the Kobe mess.

There’s at least 2 extreme, opposite issues colliding here—(1) There’s the fact that women fuck guys over all the time by simply implying that they were sexually harassed. For instance, a pretty reasonable guy I worked with a few years ago got all but fired thanks to the claims of a habitually paranoid woman, who he dated briefly. That chick perceived hostility whenever somebody sneezes. Everybody pretty much knew she was whacked, but once she made her claims, lots of people had to talk about her “vulnerability,” and they shunned the dude after that. This sort of thing happens thanks to the political and social clout of feminazis and people I call “victimized victimizers” (people who always think that they are the victim and use that claim as an excuse to fuck everybody else over). Unfortunately, the legal system seems to be biased in their favor, in an effort to protect the accuser (a.k.a. "victim"). Morevoer, most guys are too wimpy to call bullshit when they see bullshit around this issue in their own lives. The Kobe thing could easily be another case of this hypersensitive nonsense. Lunatic chicks are out there. I’m really hoping that this is the case, and that we get to see this documented.

The other extreme/opposite issue involves (2) the fact that we as a society minimize the impact of violence towards women. When women get attacked or raped or stalked, people have a tendency to blame the victim, or to justify the attacker’s motives. There’s plenty of misogyny out there. The fact is that there are lots of guys who are hateful and violent toward women, and it doesn’t necessarily show on the surface, in public. They are out there and sometimes they beat or rape or kill women. It happens all the time.

There’s lots of misogyny out there but the key point is that it is also here, at this website, usually in more subtle forms. If you keep your eyes open here, you'll notice that there are some guys here who are pretty angry at women. This hobby and sometimes this site are magnets for some truly sick fucks. When a well known working girl was murdered last year, the misogynists at this site came out in force. Although "Tmoney" finally got booted out of here for making threats, there were plenty of apologists here who supported him despite his constant (over a year), and apparently serious, endorsement of violence towards women.

Where is the middle ground between these two issues? Part of the problem is that our society is so extremely polarized that the old-fashioned notion of taking the middle path and finding the middle ground has begun to vanish.

It would be nice if our legal system could seek out the truth in a sensible way. Unfortunately, our legal system is remarkably adversarial, with both sides attempting to discredit the other at all costs. Rather than attempting to arrive at a sensible description of the event, the defense and prosecution will simply attempt to assassinate the character of the opposing side, painting them in the worst light possible. Alternatively, they'll plea bargain away any sense of truth or justice, in a way that everybody loses.

Although there’s no perfect solution regarding how to handle a case like this one, there are less extreme models of how to handle this sort of thing. Our own justice system has not always been as aggressively adversarial as it is today. And the Brits and Canadians seem to have less of this nonsense than we do.

Ah well, what can ya do?

1.The mother of the alleged victim convinced her daughter to file charges.

2. The mother of the alleged rape victim hired a civil attorney, even before the rape charges were filed.

3. The police chief is an acquintance of the mother of the rape victim.

4. The town is all white (90%)

5. The police chief immediatly filed an arrest warrant, not waiting for the District Attorney's office to do so. (A highly unusual circumstance)

6. Even with all the evidence, the DA's office took a full week to file.

7. The DA who is fairly new has only prosecuted TWO (2)
sexual assault cases.

8.The alleged rape victim had previously overreacted, when confronted with a traumatic event., ie, breakup w/boyfriend, with a probable suicide attempt.

9. The alleged rape victim had previously boasted of going to the rooms of several celebrities who stayed at the hotel where she worked, to "hang out and party with them"--(hearsay evidence from a friend.)

10. The defendant and victim were alone together for "almost two hours" according to Kobe's bodyguards who were in the next room.

11. Some pictures posted on the web of the alleged victim were fake or were of the wrong person. My personal favorite at webrat dawt com. show s the victim in a girls gone wild type of pose.

From these "facts" we came come to a, IMHO, likely scenario.

The defendent me the alleged victim at her place of employment, an upscale Resort Hotel. The victim had previously was invited and attended public and private functions with guests at the hotel, including going to their
rooms.

The alleged circumstances of rape took place over a period of two hours, with people in an attentive position in the next room. At no time were they summoned to the room by either party, or were they or MORE IMPORTANTLY, anybody in the Hotel, including Hotel Security summoned or notified of a rape or sexual assault. This is entrely atithecal to a common rape scenario, but more common for a consensual act.

After the victim returned home, she informed her mother of the rendevous. The mother convinced her that what Kobe did to her (not what she did WITH him) was WRONG.
and convices her she was "raped", because she really didn't wan't to have sex with him

Mother calls civil attorney who probably explains that the defendent has no real legal basis to ask for compensation for deflowering her daughter with his giant weaopn of mass destruction, unless there is a criminal complaint filed. Then her chances to get a great big fat multi-million dollar settlement from defendent are greatly enhanced, as are his 33%.

Mother calls her friend, the police chief. Police chief does field interview and on this basis only,without consultation with the DA's office or office interview with defendent, files arrest warrant, assumably to collect rape evidence and to keep the defendent from leaving the area.

Defendent is questioned and does not deny sexual relations, but denies rape. Defendent is then asked for
DNA evidence as required under law.

The allegeded victim is asked to come to a medical
office and submit to a rape kit a full 50 hours after the alleged rape took place.

Evidence verifies that sexual relations took place.

DUH.

Guys, this is a shakedown in all sense of the word.

There is even some evidence that the alleged rape victims family through a third party asked for "quite money" before charges were filed.

If the the charges eventually fall through or the case goes to trial it will get real nasty. In any case the colorado cutie will sell her story and make big bucks.
