Kendricks thanks for the warning.

Ldvee thanks for the link.

Picked up some XNVA this morning. Something about its weekly chart tells me it's going higher - I love the way volume has been building. Fundies look good, too.

By Kendricks on Thursday, October 23, 2003 - 09:38 am:  Edit

Did you guys see SUREE today? Down 26%! It's good you guys got out when you did.

By Ben on Thursday, October 23, 2003 - 10:15 am:  Edit

It is good that me and my liberal amigo got out when we did.

By the way that XNVA looks like an awful company.

I HATE BIOTECHS.

CYD coming back. It has been as high as $28.46 today and is currently up a $1.20 at $28.00. Can you imagine all those diesel engines being built in China and spewing out pollution all over their country while making Ben rich. It is just one of the bonus's of owning this company.

By Kendricks on Thursday, October 23, 2003 - 10:34 am:  Edit

I don't care if XNVA is an awful company, so long as its stock price goes up from my entry point. Time will tell, but it looks like a SUREE thing to me!

By Ben on Thursday, October 23, 2003 - 10:47 am:  Edit

I should have added that I was basing my opinion on the fundementals and not on the technicals.

I have been watching your PCIS waiting for an entry point below maybe 4.00? What do you think about buying back in at that price?

I made almost $600 in one day (bought on Friday sold on Monday) on PCIS.

By Kendricks on Thursday, October 23, 2003 - 11:19 am:  Edit

Cash, no debt, selling for nominally above book value, some nice drugs in the pipeline. I think XNVA looks nice, escpecially when I look at its weekly chart. We'll see.

I'm thinking about getting back into PCIS if it pulls back significantly, but haven't defined an entry point yet.

I have a confession you will get a laugh out of. Back in June I bought 1,000 shares of Taser International (TASR) at $10 and yes I forgot about it and entering it into Quicken to track. Did I have a shock today when I discovered the mistake thinking it was going to be worth 2 cents or something, only to discover it closed today at $56.20!

Woof!

By Kendricks on Thursday, October 23, 2003 - 10:20 pm:  Edit

God damn! You just pulled $46k out of your ass!!! Please teach me how to do that trick.

By Ben on Friday, October 24, 2003 - 06:58 am:  Edit

I bought one million shares of ACH in Sept 2002 for $9 a share and it is now worth $43 a share.

By Kendricks on Friday, October 24, 2003 - 07:40 am:  Edit

Holy shit Ben! You made $34,000,000 on that trade!

How come you guys don't post your trades at the same time you make them like I do?

By Ben on Friday, October 24, 2003 - 07:45 am:  Edit

Exactly!!!!

By Ldvee on Friday, October 24, 2003 - 08:25 am:  Edit

Hey I posted my SUREE trades when I made them 8^)

Some day I'll get an e-trade account and join the fun. Well, maybe not.

By Ben on Friday, October 24, 2003 - 09:20 am:  Edit

Yeah Ldvee,

Quit reminding me.

Hey check out CAAS.OB. Really wild.

These chinese stocks are very scary.

I put in an open order to buy 1000 shares of PCIS at $3.90, good for the day. It has not filled.

By Kendricks on Friday, October 24, 2003 - 09:46 am:  Edit

I entered a covered call trade on ZRAN this morning (sold the November 15 calls). I like trades like this, as it just took a big hit in price, and ZRAN generally has high call premiums for future out of the money calls. If these shares don't get assigned, I will continue to sell 15 call options until they do.

By Ben on Friday, October 24, 2003 - 11:27 am:  Edit

I was filled on my 1000 shares of PCIS at $3.90. Stock now back up tp $4.02.

I think I may try to day trade this stock which is not really something that I have ever really spent time doing. I guess I really need to buy more shares to make it worth while.

By Maximus743 on Saturday, October 25, 2003 - 12:40 am:  Edit

Ben,

I am sure you saw your ICOS jump today within minutes of the Kahuna on CNBC mentioning it.
Amazing.

By Ben on Saturday, October 25, 2003 - 08:15 am:  Edit

Max,

Yes, I was watching the show and really got a kick out of Joe aka Kahuna Kernan. He has mentioned Cialis on numerous occassions.

I bought the stock last summer for the third time in less than six months and have picked up over $4000 in option income, but I have backed off selling more options thinking that U.S. approval will make this stock really fly.

A lot of these seem to be near their highs already. Any chance that Pfizer could get a boost from Neosporin sales?

Or, maybe some insurance companies that are heavily into SoCal will take a dip and you can them cheap with profits later.

Kendricks,

That is sick.

I love the communist.

CYD at all time high today of $29.94!!!!!

By Kendricks on Monday, October 27, 2003 - 10:54 am:  Edit

Congrats again on CYD. What a pick. I entered a covered call trade on ROXI this morning. At the time I entered, it was paying a better premuim for the Nov 10's than it is now.

By Ben on Monday, October 27, 2003 - 06:52 pm:  Edit

I will marry a communist, will at least fuck one.

CYD closed at $31.21 today, up $3.64 (13.2%).

Lets see, $3.21 times 1400 shares.

The lord loves Republicans.

By Ben on Monday, October 27, 2003 - 07:03 pm:  Edit

After hours trading at $31.95, up $4.38 today!

OK OK I will shut up.

By Kendricks on Monday, October 27, 2003 - 09:19 pm:  Edit

Jesus fucking christ. Why didn't you tell me CYD was going to go THIS HIGH?????

SUREE hasn't been doing quite as well...

By Ben on Tuesday, October 28, 2003 - 06:35 am:  Edit

I am concerned about CYD. Opened at $32.50 this morning and it is going up way to fast.

Perhaps a bubble?

There almost has to be some profit taking coming up.

Putting in some stops at $29.50.

By Ben on Tuesday, October 28, 2003 - 06:52 am:  Edit

I sold my PCIS at a very small loss yesterday. I guess I got in a little to early.

Price
Date Description Price Per Share

10/24/2003 Bought 1000 PCIS $3,932.95 $3.93

10/27/2003 Sold 1000 Shares PCIS $3,918.86 $3.92

10/27/2003 Net Loss -$14.09 -$0.01

The week before I made a quick almost $600 trading this stock. I am still interested in buying it for a quick profit. Maybe it will go on down to the mid $3 range?

By Ben on Tuesday, October 28, 2003 - 08:38 am:  Edit

Damn!!!

I cancelled my stop loss on CYD and it is now down to $29.39 and has been as low as $29.10.

By Kendricks on Tuesday, October 28, 2003 - 08:39 am:  Edit

The good news for SUREE: it is back to SURE.

The bad news: This is due to delisting.

By Ben on Tuesday, October 28, 2003 - 09:05 am:  Edit

SURE.PK Now only traded on what they call the "pink sheets"

Now trading for .28!

I sold at $2.67 for a loss of $2028, but who is counting.

Does Ldvee have another motor home I can put on fire?

The greatest whore monger of them all.

Just saw on CNBC a tape of a birthday party for Dennis Kozlowski's (Ex CEO of TYCO being tried for fraud, etc.) beautiful blonde wife held a couple of years ago in Sardinia.

Jim Buffet was singing "brown eyed girl",lots of champage flowing and many beautiful young women with arms around old bald fat guys. It sorta reminded me of a Fiesta.

By Kendricks on Tuesday, October 28, 2003 - 01:20 pm:  Edit

I dumped IRSN for a small loss today, and have started trading GLGC. GLGC has been jumping betwen around 4.9 and 5.1, and I think will eventually move higher. I will entertain myself by selling above 5.05 and buying below 4.95 in the meantime. Maybe I'll get lucky and catch a big spike one of these days doing this.

By Kendricks on Wednesday, October 29, 2003 - 07:01 am:  Edit

I picked up some IMNY and AELA this morning. They both appear to be nice bottom feeding trades to me.

By Kendricks on Wednesday, October 29, 2003 - 07:29 am:  Edit

I made a nice profit (about 7.5%) this morning selling the NTIQ shares I picked up last week. Quick profits give me a very intense hardon. I'll probably buy it again if it dips back down near 11.

Great Financial News

GDP up over 7% for the quarter. You have to go back to another Republican President to see that kind of growth (17 years ago).

Business spending up 14%, which is really important as the consumer has been carrying this economy way to long.

Unemployment down slightly, but it will just keep getting better over the next 6-9 months. The Democrat Pres canidates have got to be crying today.

The market as usually saw this coming 7-8 months ago when we got the tax stimulus.

If anyone owns bonds they had better watch their ass as the bond market will be very volitile and bond prices will drop significantly as inflation starts kicking back into our economy.

So what are some of you gentlemans latest stock picks? I've been following this thread for a while and you guys seem to know whats going on. I am new to the game so I'm still learning the ropes, however i've been following the progress by a few of you guys and you seem to be on point. I'd be interested to know what stocks you guys are watching. Thanks

By Ben on Thursday, October 30, 2003 - 10:28 am:  Edit

I have been buying growth stocks lately as the market seems to be moving from small cap value to both small and large cap growth stocks. Some of the earnings growth this year will probably be spectacular.

I like CYD even at thes prices, but you could lose your ass on this stock as it is a Chinese stock, listed on the NYSE, and it has gone from $3 to $32 over the past year. I own some at $18.65 and bought some more at $23.

You might want to look at ICOS as it will probably get approval in the U.S. for a new ED drug within the month. Again risky as if the FDA turns them down they stock will probably drop dramatically.

I like LMT GE HD LUV NWL ACH MIK NYB (which has been spectacular for me) QCON SGDE and many more. The problem with many of these stocks is they have had big runs up over the past 9 months and they are not near the bargains they were when the market was cheap.

I personally own many of the above mentioned stocks. Any stock I discuss could lose money including all your principal as of course stocks are not guaranteed and have risk.

By Supakat on Thursday, October 30, 2003 - 11:28 am:  Edit

I appreciate the input Ben. I watched Cyd also...just didn't get in when i should have. I know there are risks, but you and Kendricks seem to have the Midas touch in the last few months, so I appreciate juss being able to pick your brains here for a bit. I look forward to this thread continuing...thanks..

With the economy picking up the transportation index will be one to watch. Fedex hit a 52 week high and is now at 73.92
This December will be a heavy shipping season and great biz for this company.

Sold my CYD at $29.57 a share.

I have a client who is a research scientist for a biotech company and was born and raised in mainland China until she was 40 years old. She has been in the US for about 10 years. She is very skeptical of the Chinese as she says most of the people are not doing well and the government is so corrupt she doesn't believe any of the financial data about their economy. Kinda reminds me of the U.S.

Anyway I am out at a very nice profit.

Sugar Pie and Barely Legal Pie will be very excited to hear the news.

By Kendricks on Friday, October 31, 2003 - 07:41 am:  Edit

Thanks for the comments Supakat. I know I have learned a lot from Ben here. Right now, about two thirds of my capital is in covered call trades (buying stock and selling call options against it) - I think ROXI is a great covered call trade now. I also have covered call trades open in AMCC, USG, ZRAN, ASIA, and BCGI. Timing is critical in theses, you need to buy good stocks that have near-future call options available that pay a good premium. Also, they have to be stocks solid enough that, if they dip, you can continue selling more options at the same strike price until the stock comes back. This is my approach, anyway.

The rest of my money is in more speculative trades. I like to look for low priced stocks with little to no debt, a good cash position, selling for close to tangible value, that I think have a good chance to turn around. Of course, I violate my own rules sometimes...

Right now, I like AELA, IMNY, XNVA, FTUS, and TFS (some of these I am only in looking for a bounce). If you really want to get speculative, take a look at USXP.

Of course, do you own DD - IMO, you should never buy a stock based on anyone's recommendation, unless the trade makes sense to you. Good luck, and I hope to see more comments from you in the future.

I am trying to buy CTEL at $7.70.

Very good growth in revenues and earnings, yet trading at 11 times current earnings.

Looks good to me.

By Kendricks on Friday, October 31, 2003 - 09:53 am:  Edit

I just picked up 1,000 shares of CTEL at 7.77. Looks like a nice stock in a good market with great financials, at a great entry point. Thanks Ben.

You are welcome.

By Ben on Friday, October 31, 2003 - 10:49 am:  Edit

Kendricks,

Why not sell and split the profit with me? It doesn't seem fair that you get to buy it cheaper than me!

I have moved up my order to $7.80 and still can't get a fill on CTEL.

Last trade was at $7.98

Why do I do this to myself?
