A few facts for you Payton Manning fans to chew on:
Manning and his Colts are 3-5 in playoff games
In 4 of the 5 losses Manning played his single worst game of the entire season, based on the NFL`S QB rating system
In 1 of the losses, Manning played his single worst game of his carrer. In anther loss, Manning played his 3rd worst game of his carrer.
The Colts offense averaged 10 pts a game in the 5 losses.
Had the offense scored their season average they`d be 4-1 in those 5 losses.
Of coarse, you`d have to take into consideration that Manning played twice in foxboro in bad weather conditions which didn`t help, but all in all, not very impressive.

when will all u wake up and realize it ain't payton-- it's the PATS!
Payton is a GREAT QB-- period. However, the PATS are a GREAT TEAM. I same the same stuff every year-- is it sinking in yet? This year will be a challenge for the Pats-- lots of changes in the team chemistry and sidelines... going to be an interesting one..

Yeah! Finally we don't have to see the Pats pull off another miracle year.

The Vikes look like a shoe-in to go over 9 wins (-145)
By Khun_mor on Friday, July 15, 2005 - 09:18 pm: Edit |
They got 4 seemingly automatics with the Bears and Lions going into the season. A nice way to start. Now if they only had a coach !
The Vike's have recently always found a way to blow the "easy games". Could have been all Randy's fault- somehow I think it runs deeper.
By Don Marco on Friday, July 15, 2005 - 10:23 pm: Edit |
we'll see- I think this is their year (NFC wise).

Who was the most consistent QB last season ? Well, according to a formula for standard deviation, ( how much a QB plays above or below his average on a week to week basis.). Using the NFL`S QB rating system.
The most consistent QB last season - Marc Bulger
No. 2 - Tom Brady
Manning finished 5th
The most inconsistent QB last season - Micheal Vick
Consider this - Bulger`s worst game, 65.7 rating, his best game, 116.4
Vick had 4 games over 120 and 4 games under 50, his worst game, 13.9, the very next week he had his best game, 136.1
Something to think about if you like Atlanta to win the SB.
By Don Marco on Sunday, July 17, 2005 - 12:57 pm: Edit |
Vick while entertaining, ain't going to win a SB... ever.

RAIDERS WILL PREVAIL THIS SEASON.
With the aquisition of Randy Moss WR and Mr Martin from the Jets.....The long ball has returned to Raider Nation AKA Da Black Hole....

Alas
Another myopic Raider fan.
Unfortunately they need someone to throw the ball to them and an offensive line to protect that as yet unavailble individual.
Kerry Collins ?? Give me a break !! He'll be back in the bars cryin in his beer by mid season.

Oh by the way
Can you say
TUCK RULE ?? LOL
By Don Marco on Wednesday, July 27, 2005 - 08:22 am: Edit |
Da raiders... Although improved, they don't have the depth, chemistry, etc to make much more than piece together a hot streak.
This year, I'm eying the Vikes to make a run for it. It remains to be seen if they can gel together and have the the pieces fall in line...
Also, I'm very happy Ricky is back running! He's my favorite back-- I hope he has a great year although it is doubtful.
By Khun_mor on Wednesday, July 27, 2005 - 08:22 pm: Edit |
Ricky cannot last the season without da chronic sos he can overcome his social phobias ya know. He'll fail his next drug test and be gone for the season.
As a long suffering Bear's fan I wish I could say there was hope for the season but Chicagoan's do not seem to have the myopia that afflicts those in Oakland. Cept for the Cubbies of course- We think they're goin to win the series every year-- at least until June rolls around !

Hell-- any guy that walks away from a MAJOR pro sports contract to smoke dope and fuck in Asia (he first surfaced in Japan) is my hero
Report is that he lost 30 or so pounds as a vegetarian convert, so it remains to be seen what he's got left in the tank. Either way, he gets to avoid giving back 8 mill and if they cut him at some point, he's back in Asia with a few doobies and spinners (and then some).
Ricky kicked some serious football ass in his day. Not quite bo jackson-eske, but still very impressive.

Go Steelers! Ya gotta love a defence that gives you a 14 point lead before the offense even sets foot on the field!
By Athos on Saturday, September 03, 2005 - 08:50 pm: Edit |
Chargers cut wr Malcolm Floyd, that guy could be a num 3 on a dozen teams in the NFL.
Who is this qb from Purdue starting for Bears? their over/under is 6.5 in TJ. They play the AFC north and the NFC south. Is their defense for real?
I went with the redskins instead under 7.5, they play the AFC west and the NFC west. I just love Joe Gibbs look on the sideline, diminutive wr's, misplaced rb, they lost LB Pierce and CB Smooth on D.
By Porker on Saturday, September 03, 2005 - 09:17 pm: Edit |
3rd WR's are a dime a dozen in the NFL, and the Chargers have been at the bottom tier of talent at the position since the Ryan Leaf era began. Good thing with Marty-ball, it don't matter.
Kyle Orton is a true rookie, not just a guy that's never taken an NFL snap, and the odds are tremendous that the offense will suck this year. Of course they sucked LAST YEAR too, and probably can't be any worse at the QB position, with Benson and Muhammad added and D. Terrell and A-train subtracted. Bears schedule is average, and their own division doesn't have any powerhouses, though the Vikings sure can throw the ball.
The Redskins winning 8 games would probably indeed be an upset, but I don't think personnel changes on D will make any difference. They do get Arrington BACK this year. Now 3 SHITTY QB's, on the other hand... Luckily for them the Giants and Cowboys may have ugly offenses too.
By Fooledagain1 on Sunday, September 04, 2005 - 05:16 am: Edit |
Hey now, Redskins are 1 of my surprise teams of the year, possible division title, beware of them skins !!!
By Don Marco on Sunday, September 04, 2005 - 06:45 am: Edit |
redskins a title-- hehehe NOW thats funny.
Bear's D is for real... that should allow them to rack up the losses by a small loss margin... in the end who cares?
This year--
Winners:
afc
east- pats
north- ravens
south- colts
west- chargers
nfc
east- eagles
north- vikes
south- atlanta
west-- rams
AFC has the three best teams in order:
pats, colts, chargers

Uhh, you realize that they're in the Eagles' division, right? Exactly how few games do you think the Eagles are gonna win this year? They are by FAR the best team in the NFC.
Stick to your NBA playoffs 'units'.

500 yards would be awesome. He's missing the first 4 games and I'm sure it will take 3 or so games to dust off the cobwebs after 1.5 years off..
He's a winner either way as he does't have to cough up the bonus cash... dats a lot of dubes and ass!

Last season my surprise teams Jets and Vikes, produced the NFL`S leading rusher, Curtis Martin and the NFL`S passing yardage champ, Duante Culpeper.
If not for Manning`s incredible season eveyone would of been talking about Culpeper`s amazing year.
Consider this - Culpeper lead the league with 4717 yds passing - 5th best alltime
Culpeper threw 39 td`s - 5th best alltime
His 4717 yds passing combined with his 406 yds rushing = 5123 total yds, The most total yards in a regular season in NFL History.
His amazing season could only carry the Vikes to a 8-8 season, not good for Fooledagain1`s surprise team of the 2004 season.
Should have a good shot to get the NFL rushing champ again with Portis (+1000)of the Skins or Magahe (+1200) of the Bills. Could get the rookie of the year with J. J. Arrington (+850) of the Cards. The passing yardage champ with Carr (+2000) of the Texans or recieving yardage champ with Johnson (+1000) of the Texans.
Keep in mind, the playoffs are my speciality, they`re pretty much money in the bank. I can have my moments with preseason futures but it`s difficult to be consisent every year.
Ride my 4 surprise teams on the pointspreads all season long, play 1st half`s and game.
BRINGitON !!!!
By Porker on Monday, September 05, 2005 - 10:31 pm: Edit |
The only way those 4 teams are gonna break .500 is if they play EACH OTHER every damned week!
You're not alone, though. Peter King is picking Jacksonville to win the Colts' division. J'ville better have the best defense in the NFL then, because they play 7 of the top 10 offensive teams in football in their first 7 games. They may win a couple of them, who knows, but they're gonna have to put up 25+ points a week to do that, and they certainly weren't capable of that kind of firepower last year. Picking them to get anywhere near the Colts in the standings is just NUTS.
By Blazers on Monday, September 05, 2005 - 10:52 pm: Edit |
I think Jacksonville making it as a wild card team is a reasonable prediction though. The problem lies at the QB position where they havent been solid since Brunnell was in his hey day. Leftwich is at a crossroad now, either he is going to get it and its going to click or he will continue to struggle in his reads.

My Texans will finish ahead of Jax, they`re much overrated, let`s see how the so-called experts stack up with the master, fooledagain1.
Last season (2004) the experts were also picking Jax (5-11 record in 2003)as a surprise team, I posted in the preseason that I`d take the Jets (6-10 in 2003) to do better than Jax, alot of experts had the Jets to finish last in division. Well quess what, fooledagain1 did it again, outpicked the experts once again.

The only place Jacksonville is going is to the film room to see how pathetic they are for a NFL team.

I never quit on my teams and the season has 15 more games.
I will be equally happy when the Pats do not win the Super bowl this year.
BTW Yankees 2 games Red Sox 1 this weekend.
My niners supposedly the worst team in footbal is currently playing well that would be exciting to see them hold on and beat the heavily favored Rams.

"BTW Yankees 2 games Red Sox 1 this weekend. "
Whose in first and who is fighting for a WC birth? However, great series-- it doesn't get much better than for fans (well a 2-1 sox edge).
"My niners supposedly the worst team in footbal is currently playing well"
good to see... finally a good game. Rams-- hehehe. Fire Martz and they may have something.
"I will be equally happy when the Pats do not win the Super bowl this year."
anyone can sit back and say who will NOT win, how about stating for the record who WILL win. At the end of the year, we'll see who does what...

Sadly, I would have to cast my vote for Jacksonville to win the SuperBowl this year. They have been in the running for a couple of years with a lot of key Defensive players injured. They all seem to be healthy this year. If that holds True, Jacksonville will be tough to beat......Go Steelers!

I have to admit that the first week of the season is usually a big week for upsets, the 2nd week is the same, a little falloff, before things settle down for the 3rd week.
By Fooledagain1 on Monday, September 12, 2005 - 05:21 pm: Edit |
I wouldn`t get excited after 1 game, you think Jax played well ? They won the turnover battle 5 to 1 and only won the game by 12 pts., that`s not very impressive. Do you think they`ll win the turnover battle by 4 every week, probally won`t do it again all season.
The experts are already talking about improved defenses in KC and Indy, don`t count on it, KC gave up 390 yards but the Jets turned it over 8 times, you won`t score many pts if you turn it over 8 times, that`s a fluke. Indy gave up 400 yards to offensively challenged Baltimore but won the turnover battle 5 to 0. If they keep it up they`ll be last in the league, I wouldn`t call that improve. Consider no Super Bowl winner has given up over 345 yds and 85% of SB winners give up less than 315 yards, these 2 teams have a long way to go.
Other misleading final scores - 49ers over Rams, Rams dominated the game. Redskins turned it over 5 times and won, that`s impressive, rarely happens in NFL. Ride the Skins.
Biggest surprise - Miami dominated Denver.
By Valterreekian on Monday, September 12, 2005 - 06:34 pm: Edit |
Yeh, that Miami/Denver score WAS a big suprise. I would have bet Denver on that one.
