Of course that creates problems, too, because they got attached very quickly. In Thailand the girls were more short-term money oriented, most don't want to leave Thailand, but they are more famous for playing games trying to reel you in and get you to send cash from abroad. Of course I would sit back in amazement every morning at the Orchid Inn pool in Angeles City, PI as guys 20 years older than me and 100 lbs. heavier (and I ain't even close to skinny) were having breakfast with TOTAL hotties I would have cut off my finger to bang! As Murasaki said, money talks, but I think there's more to it than that, many Asian girls really respond well when guys are nice to them and treat them well, and it goes way beyond looks. My personal advice would be to just jump on the plane ASAP (you can't lose with either place you're considering) and check it out for yourself and you would be AMAZED at what you will find. But to maximize your chances -- BRING LOTS OF MONEY and don't be cheap with the ladies' drinks -- SMILE A LOT and bullshit with the girls, don't sit there like a bump on a log -- SHOWER 20 TIMES A DAY (it's very hot there) and be as clean as possible, and, if all else fails, suck up to the mamasan. She can deliver you a girl when it's otherwise next to impossible to get her. If money is an issue for you re: choosing a destination, I don't think the Angeles City experience can be beat as far as value for the dollar is concerned, though Pattaya prices are quite reasonable too. If money isn't as important, the scene is much bigger and more comprehensive in Thailand. And if EVERYTHING else fails, from hearing all the reports, I can't imagine that you could possibly have a bad time at Eden Club in Bangkok. Bottom line: I really wouldn't worry about this too much. You WILL have a great time in either place.
