I've heard that another place to really experience incredibly stunning scenery is to just stand on the platform at Siam station on a weekday morning between 7:30 and 9 am, and watch the office girls go to work. Truly a sight to behold I understand.
Mind you, I've never been able to blast myself out of bed at such an ungodly hour to go verify it, but based on what I've seen just riding the Skytrain during off-hours, I'm willing to believe what I've heard.
