I've wondered about this. Sounds good to me. At the same time, I've wondered about tuning newbies into the flavor of the board. New members could be notified of the following things (making it better for them; and maybe less fun for us): 1) There's occasional bantering and bickering at this site. Although these "flame wars" may look like heated battles, sometimes they simply reflect good natured ribbing. 2) A particular poster may exhibit a particular style or personna, which does not necessarily reflect the views or personality of the actual poster. 3) There are a lot of nuts out there. Be careful. 4) Don't sweat it if someone criticizes your post. Chances are that others are interested in what you have to say, or can help you with a question you have. 5) If you are still posting really dumb things after your first few months, then we declare open season on your sorry ass.
