I agree with Xen. Talk to a bunch of bar owners before making the plunge on this one. I've heard that one of the biggest problems is that farang owners can never trust their staff with money. Consequently they always have to be at work and near the register. Otherwise they get stolen blind. In particular, and I can't remember where I heard this, one guy who has owned a bar in BKK for a long time said that he hasn't had a day off in years because of that very fact.
