Anyone ever been in Thailand during New Years?

Is it a good time to go? I was wondering; thinking maybe a lot of the girls may go home for the holidays? I don't know though; maybe it's the best time of year to be there? All the airline prices are tripled. I found a flaw in one of the online ticket with one of the airlines though; i think. I found tickets for $685 + taxes rt from LAX-BKK departing on Dec 28-ariving the morning of the 30th.Or 735 + taxes departing on the 27th. The flight plan kind of sucks but the price is unreal. I think the computer must be messed up.
