You can live very, very modestly in Thailand on 30K baht a month.

You can live quite nicely for 60K baht a month and anything over that is pure gravy.

So conisder this:

150K * 39 = 5,850,000

5.8 Million baht divided by 84 month (7 years) = 69,642 budget per month. But it all depends on what kind of lifestyle you need or expect. Could you do it and get by quite nicely? Absolutely.

I would avoid investing your money in a bar unless you want a Thai partner (wife), want to get ripped off, want a lot of headaches, or want to be there all the time.

You don't have to return to the US when your Visa expires. You just have to leave the country and re-enter. Most go over to Cambodia and then turn around and come right back and get another Visa.

I think they also offer a retirement Visa, but I don't know the specifics behind it.
