Starting Over : Thailand?

I'd like advise on the starting over idea in Thailand. After a pending divorce a think I'll have about $150K, but at 55 I won't see SS income until 7 years (I think).
I met an Irish guy in Pattaya that bought a beer bar on Soi Diamond for $32K. How long could $150K last?
Do you have to come back to the US every 6 months?
