Most of the expats I've spoken with say rent, don't buy at least for the 1st year or two. Give yourself a chance to see if this is really what you want. I looked at a place for kicks last year called "Mansion one" in Pattaya. A furnished 1 br apt with utilities (phone, internet access included will run about 13,500 Baht a mo.)
