Because it's farther away, much riskier, the customers are almost all Mexican, and the women are the older, short, stocky type that the Mexicans prefer. The homicide rate in La Mesa is several times greater than it is in La Zona. Also, you have to be very careful about the taxi's you find in front of the bars. Several Mexicans have warned me that it's not safe for gringos later at night when the hombres have been drinking. For me it's a very poor risk/reward bet and better left unmentioned. Regards, |
