Yes, however a law on the books is the one I must follow to get grant money. I thought of other creative ways to compensate las chicas (childcare, english lessons, grocery coupons, etc.). I have a year in Tijuana anyway.

I have a contact in Las Magdelenas, they meet every week. I'm going to be attending those meetings.

Agree on the public health data -- even some of the stuff from the US is unreliable. I do have an epidemiologist I'm working with, so I will try to be as accurate as possible.

I'm pretty good at Spanish, and I will have an assistant from the local area to help with the tuff stuff.

Anthropologists tend to rely on unofficial sources of info. Thats why they have to live where they research. It forces us to get know our neighbors.
