much to my dismay (parking wise), the big development across from the outlet mall is well underway. Supposedly this new development is going to have hotels, restaurants, and surprise, more outlet mall shops. I've heard that the developer wants a second border crossing in that area, and supposedly the bridge will end up right where the Zona Norte is. Is that true? if the bridge ended up on Rev, no problema, but if it really does go to the Zona Norte, wow. Hard to believe the Zona is a tourist destination the city fathers want a family from Iowa to see, so they'd have to raze it. Is this the beginning of the end? Obviously the 2nd crossing will take several years, but Fox seems so intent on modernizing Mexico, opening up the border - an area like the Zona just seems out of place in such a vision.
