Brother Ritmo,

In the spirit of an interesting discussion not a flame, we have 3 major differences in our models of La Zona Norte and the world.

1. "I choose to do my buckin' of tha odds elsewhere, where I think my odds are slightly better than the zillion or so to 1 that I think prevails in the zona."

Based on my personal experience and that of 2 friends I would estimate the odds as being in the range of from 20 to 1 to 100 to 1.

2. "I know I am one FUCKED UP psychological case too--I'd say that's pretty generalizable to most mongers."

While that may be true for some guys, I've been surprised by some of the guys I've met in la zona. They seemed to have their lives together better than many "normal" guys I've worked with and are really enjoying thier adventures. In most cultures other than our puritan one it's quite normal and common for successful older guys to "dally" with sexy younger women. In fact many older wives expect it and are relieved that their husbands are pursuing sex elsewhere.

3. "The definition of fantasy is that it ain't real."
I think there's an important distinction between "illusion" and "fantasy" and your model throws out the baby with the bath water. I agree that living in an "illusion" of la zona norte is not very useful and can be dangerous to your money and emotions. However, I've found that "fantasy" is the first step of creativity.
First you fantasize something and if the fantasy motivates you enough, you set about making it real. For years I've had the fantasy of having a harem but thought it was impossible. Since I've discovered la zona, I'm enjoying immensely the process of making it come true. As one of my favorite maestros said after modeling some of the people who've changed our world, "When fantasy and reality blend into something more real than either..."

Regards,
RickFeliz
