Erip, My first feeling was that the security guard had something to do with it. When my amiga came by at 3 AM he called and asked me to come down for her. I don't remember seeing if my car was in its parking spot even though I walked right by it. I thought that me amiga was at the front office, but when I couldn't find her and the guard shack was empty I went back to my room. The security guard and my very wet amiga were waiting for me. I gave him 10 pesos then he started ranting about having guests in the room - he asked if my reservation was for one and I said no. I told him that Luis (day clerk) had assured me that they charged me for two people - Luis had told me to always tell them that. The security guard left and then called back about five minutes later and told me that the night clerk said I had a room for one. I told the guard over the phone to talk to Luis in the morning and hung up on him. When I talked to the owner in the morning my initial concern was that the guard might me involved with the incident, but the owner caught me off guard by telling me how thorough he was and that even in the cold and rainy weather the owner noticed on the camera that he was spending a lot of time in the parking lot. I might send an E Mail back to the owner telling him that, but I also told my adjustor about my suspicions. The adjustor claims that State Farm has a division for car theft in Mexico. When I arrived Sunday at VZ I parked my car closest to the area going upstairs by where the messeras have their room. It turns out that that is a blind spot on their video cameras and had I been one parking spot west it would have been taped. Strange for me first of all that I never moved my car and also usually after checking in I park my car always near the front of the parking lot where it is in view of the office and usually the cop stands. I am thinking the cop has a buddy and maybe he told him about the car after not seeing it move for a day and a half. The cop possibly just looked the other way when the car was stolen.
