In Latin culture women are in many ways still viewed as possessions of men. This 'culture' allows the clash of dominance that one can see on the streets of most any MX city. Though the woman may be the main bread winner, and the one to raise the kids, and handle most of the household responsibilities, it is still the man who is in the 'controlling' position. Most times Latin women view themselves as subservient in the final view. How many times do we hear about a chica who works her but off only to support a drug taking, beer swilling novio or husband? NO woman likes to be slapped around, and most WILL straighten up the first guy to try. Culture be damned. |
