On the 2nd floor of NEP, there's a refuge from the pounding techno disco music. The place is called Woodstock. From the outside, it looks like a hole-in-the-wall dive. Inside, it has the look and atmosphere of a stateside sports bar, i.e., big screen tv showing ESPN, pool tables, dart boards, with good music playing in background. There's no go-go girls and no one hustling you to buy drinks. It's a good place to kickback and nurse a beer or soda and bullshit with your friends or meet the local expats. If you're hungry, they have an good selection of Western and Thai foods on their menu including their famous hamburgers. I've eaten their hamburger several times so I can personally give it a "thumbs up."

Woodstock opens at noon and closes at 2 a.m.

When i was in here in Jan of this year there was a sign up on the notice board (left hand of the door) that it was for sale, one of the waitresses said it was on the market for 1 million Baht. Good food and music, excellent atmosphere and a nice break from the hastle and bustle of the clubs will go there again on my next trip October of this year hopefully.

It's still up for sale-- way overpriced . It's a good spot for all you farang who miss Hamburgers and other farang food.

WOODSTOCK is history! This month the Rainbow Bar Group have bought it and will renovate it into Rainbow 4 go-go bar. I have been a regular at Woodstock for seven years and I know Peter the owner has wanted to sell it for a couple of years. Peter hopes to relocate a new Woodstock somewhere along Sukhumvit Road within the next 4-6 months. The owners are taking a long vacation.

WOODSTOCK - Over the last couple of years Woodstock declined into a shadow of the fine establishment that it once was. It used to be something of a "haven" amid the insanity of Nana Plaza, but the owners gradually spent less and less time there. I have known Peter the owner for seven years and often listen to his despair as he vented his frustration at the lack of business. Recently there was a fond farewell party which I did attend. Peter kindly offered drinks at only 50 baht and in an ironic turn of fate Woodstock was packed to the rafters. At the party on February 28th 2005 it was hard to comprehend that after 20 years Woodstock opened its doors for the very last time.

WOODSTOCK UPDATE - The doors are locked and building has started inside. I think it will be an exciting new addition to Nana Plaza. "King Ming" will open Rainbow 4 and it is going to be huge! It will be bigger than G-Spot. I will keep you guys posted on further developments as your man on the battlefield...

The space where Woodstock used to be on the second floor of Nana Plaza will be the location for Rainbow 4. The place is now gutted and it is HUGE! It will be considerably bigger than G-Spot and could be as big as Carousel. This is exciting for Nana Plaza and encouraging that top bar owners are confident that Nana Plaza has a great future. Hopefully Bahtman can get a good photo of it to show you guys how enormous this place is going to be.

Selection is probably best in NEP with varied looks. Did not like 3 to 1 men to ladies ratio. My friend got lucky picking a very nice hourglass, this is considered fat in here as she mentioned she might get fired because of lack of interest from japanese clients. Friend was happy with performance. Probably worth another visit.

I hear Rainbow 4 is doing great. Others have told me they have a bunch of stunners. I will for sure make this my second stop after Angel Witch.

Yes Jokerman, my guys here tell me Rainbow 4 has been packed from day one! Every night they are pulling in big crowds of guys to see a lot of go-go BG's. Two stages full of BG's has to be an attraction. Currently R-4 seems popular with both Western and Asian customers. R-2 is almost exclusively Japanese but they still have their stunners. R-3 is currently being renovated and R-1 are doing excellently. Ann and her BG's now put on some Shows, the Showgirls are covered but it's great to see R-1 appealing to Western tastes. Word in Nana Plaza is stick to the main bars on floor one and two, and don't even waste your time visiting floor three! The Rainbow Bars are packed to the rafters most nights, and R-4 seems Very popular.

RAINBOW FOUR is definately doing the best trade in Nana Plaza currently. Guys are saying there are TOO many BG's if you can believe that! What they are saying is that it's so packed you can barely get in the door some nights. STICKMAN has covered the Rainbow Group's success in this weeks column 26-6-05. RAINBOW 4 is doing fantastic business but guys are saying that they have too many BG's, as you can hardly get in the door. As a result R-2 has lost a lot of quality and a lot of BG's are joining R-4. Although R-4 is on its honeymoon period it's remarkable the amount of quality BG's they have crammed into one bar. Bars like G-Spot are definately suffering as a result.

During RB-4's Grand Opening Party...

Blumpy's buddy Buckeye and I hit this place last night about eight, after sending Blumpy off to the airport. Honestly, we were both underwhelmed by the lineup. It looked like a lot of girls were still drifting in to work, but what was there was not exciting. I was also expecting a lot more pooying. There was one ultra-spinner that I was interested in, but I could not get her to acknowledge my existence, and she was shortly called down by a Japanese guy. We moved on. I'll try again another night next week for comparison purposes.

Yes Murasaki, Khun Mor is right you hit the place too early to judge the line-up. Some BG's are still in the shower at home at 8pm! Even in Angelwitch the Superstar Showgirls don't have to be on deck until as late as 9.30pm. Check out Rainbow 4 between 9pm and 10pm one night and see the difference.

Yes Murasaki, please do give us your imput. IMO no bar in Soi Cowboy will even come within light years of the standards in Rainbow 1+2+4. The Rainbow line-ups are generally a good quantity of quality.

No bar in Cowboy has as many good looking girls as the bars you mentioned (though at this point I might leave Rainbow II out of that list and replace it with Pretty Lady and/or Angelwitch at showtime). That being said, you can, indeed, find extremely attractive women in Cowboy. They're just not there in the same numbers that you find in the Plaza. Like you point out, though, you may well be swimming in great looking women in Rainbow I.

After being delayed by a night by Nam at Angel Witch, I made it back to RB 4 on Thanksgiving Eve, arriving at about 9:30. The lineup was better, but I still think RB I is tops. However, there was more than enough to occupy my eyes, and I did wind up jumping on the "Japanese treadmill" these girls have going.

There was yet another uber-spinner on the stage with a tiny waist and hips and quite light-skinned that I took a liking too, and finally waved her down. Apun is her name, but she goes by Apple. She had been working there for 10 days. 20 years old, and from Bangkok, she had never slept with a farang before. All of her customers had been Japanese, and boy is she popular with them. She said she had been getting barfined 3 to 4 times a night. I wound up being number 2 for that evening.

Guys can say what they want about Rainbow 4 but with 200+ BG's there is bound to be a higher percentage of babes. Even if you like a particular type and prefer only 25% that's still 50+ BG's to choose from. I popped into RB-4 last night and it was like a Hollywood Carousel reunion. I immediately saw a string of former Carousel hotties who either came over to say hello, or who gave me a "wai" if still dancing. Former Carousel Dancers included WAN, DA, MAI, ELL, ICE, and LEK. Lek was waitress in Carousel but is now Dancer #163 and she has one of the biggest natural racks in BKK! Almost a home-coming or home-cuming!

Also what I like about Rainbow 4 is the mixture of different BG's. There are all shapes and sizes, plus character types and they have derived from many different places. It's quite a go-go melting pot! You do have to be mobile and circulate around the place to see all of the BG's. I find this a kind of diverse version of hide and seek, and I can certainly think of a lot worse things to be doing on bitter cold nights in the West.

Having said that, a Thai male friend of mine who often manages a short-time hotel in Nana told me that there were a ton of hot women from Rainbow IV taking customers to his family's "hotel". Fortunately the mamasan there is an old friend of mine and was bringing the hot lookers ( more importantly the hot performers ) to me as I sat in my corner seat and viewed the goods up close and personal. Three of us South America types were recently in BKK, and Rainbow 4 got our unanimous vote for best spot in town (not just NEP). The design of the place is terrible, but there were more cuties in R4 than the next two best spots combined.

Rainbow Four have around 250 Dancers to choose from and simply the widest choice in any go-go bar in Thailand. Some nights 200-250 Dancers do show up for work too. This is an enormous selection, all available in four walls.

Huge selection. So many hard bodies in this joint it's crazy. Try to get a seat in the middle, along the bar, straight ahead when you push through the curtain upon entering. Prepare for some neck pain the next morning due to your head being on a swivel the entire night. The girls are all over, it's crawling with them.

Last night didn't have too many customers but had several girls. Had a good mix of customers. Most of the girls were very friendly. I had a good time.

Walkingdude, I totally agree. RB-4 is awesome! Gets a bit of a bad press being a Rainbow bar but who can complain about the number of BG's? Still operating with 200+ Dancers. Popped in here with Walkingdude and his buddies, and it was packed with BG's. Three large changes of Dancers even though a load had been barfined. More attractive talent in this one bar than the whole of Soi Cowboy. If you look at other bars that struggle it is because RB-4 is such big competition. Many bars just can't compete.

This place is still out of control. I was there twice in the past week. There are so many hot women there you will not be able to make a choice.

Once again on the prowl and once again Rainbow 4 amazes me. So many girls, so many hard bodies. I really had to search to find a girl that was even a little bit 'pompoi' or fat. So a quite a few stunners and numerous hotties. The hardest part here is making a choice.

I would have to agree one would have trouble finding so many hotties under one roof at any go go bar in Thailand and perhaps worldwide. I have been to a few good thermae's in Brazil that came close. An fkk club in Germany with quite a few drop dead gorgeous girls but not the numbers I found at Rainbow 4.

There have been complaints about rainbow 4 but they still have many, many girls. It has taken a hit talent. the quality isn't quite as good as last year but there are still so many girls here. I still easily find many girls with a fabulous bodies here.

Sat down for 2 drinks last night and quality def isn't what I recall, but as others have said, lots of girls and ample supply of decent looking girls. That said and always often times my gripe here, personalities here seemed a bit distant and I'm not a fan of the trendy look here with the gals - lighter hair with long curls. On the flip side, had 2 gals with VERY nice racks per my preferences (firm, mini bolt ons with puffy nipples).
