My last trip to Thailand was a fun getaway. I was staying at Majestic Suites (CH Link) on Soi Sukhumvit near Nana Plaza. The taxi ride was 340 baht. I checked in, unpacked my stuff, and spent the afternoon checking out the city. When the evening rolled around my plan was to check out all the bars in Nana Plaza and take out the best looking girl. I decided to start off at Angel Witch (CH Link) because I heard some good stuff about the place and saw a picture of a girl I was interested in on this site. My next evening wasn't as successful. I spent most of the day doing regular touring and didn't get any adult prospecting until later in the evening. I made another pass through Nana Plaza around 10pm. The number of places just in Nana Plaza alone is a little overwhelming. This made an impression because there seemed to be a lot more than I remembered in past Bangkok visits.

Nana Liquid was a dissapointment. The hottest girl there was a ladyboy. The talent seemed much lower than I remembered. It didn't look like many people were hooking up. As it got later, there seemed to be more ladyboys than girls coming in. I decided to call it a night. It had been a long day, so I didn't mind striking out.

Hmm did this "liquid" replace Angels on the ground floor? Shame about all the lady boys. Nana parking lot used to be THE place to pull whilst trundling back across soi 4 after the Nana plaza closed.

Nana Parking lot is now about 50/50 girls and ladyboys. Nana Liquid did replace Angels. I like it better, but I rarely saw LBs in Angel Disco, and NLiquid seems to be welcoming them, so caveat emptor when shopping there.

Since I only had a limited amount of time in Thailand, I dedicated my days to regular tourism and my nights to adult tourism. My third night brought me to CP2 (CH Link). I had never been there before, but the directions posted on this site made it easy to find by taking the skytrain and walking a short distance.

CP2 a blast from the past! Word of caution on that place: they do have lady boys in the stable. I'm not into that but not against it. But I do think you should know what you're getting, ie a different color number badge or something.

I decided to head back to Rainbow 1 to find the girl that was smiling at me earlier. I sat with Chin (not her name, she had a prominent chin) and everything seemed to fall into place. I've read on either stickman or bangkok bob, I can't remember which, that there used to be an "off" system where the girl has to make so many barfines a month or her pay is cut accordingly. That's only good for the bars and in my opinion all the more reason not to go to them. This and the increase in ladyboys is what killed Patpong and if it's true that 50% of the parking lot FLs are now ladyboys, then I'd have to say Nana is well on it's way to being the next Patpong.

When I was there it seemed like most women were into short-time game and got picky about money/business matters. The GFE was a little absent from time to time. It wasnt a bad experience at all, but just different then Angeles City which had spoiled me with cheap long time and GFE.

ST fever has been the norm at Nana and Cowboy for at least 8 or 9 years now. That is nothing new. ST prices have held steady at 2000 baht during that time as well. i've been in CP2 in the afternoon a few times. nothing in the fishbowl looked real good. the sideline gals looked pretty good but once they were in the middle of eating so i took a pass. then another time i wasn't quick enough on the draw. two girls walked in, sat down, and were called away in less than a minute.

i'm not positive but i think shark bar at cowboy requires 12 bar fines and 50 drinks per month to qualify for the salary. 12 bar fines is 7,200thb and 50 drinks is about 8,000thb (160/drink). i think the salaries are about 12,000. but i think they get drink money every night, 2,500 for the month if they get 50 drinks. one gal at shark claims she has the ST record, 7 in one night. she works outside and has huge tits (but face not so good). so they definitely keep track of how many ST's they can do in one night. one is far from the desired number.

To clarify, my last few times in Thailand were in the mid 00's and I cut out Bangkok as it doesn't make sense with the new location of the airport. So it's definitely not a new phenomenon, I noticed it in 03-04.

I guess when I arrived for the first time in Thailand in 2001 I was lucky enough to be at the end of the LT trend for 1000-1500 no problem in Bangkok or Pattaya. Pattaya's only advantage was size and beer bars with 200 baht barfines. Go gos were 500 for the barfine and LT was normal in Bangkok or Pattaya.

It's good to hear Nana hasn't become a total tourist trap yet, I'm looking forward to your report.

The real reason ST is becoming the only option for most girls is because of a change in policy imposed by the mamasans.
At most bars now, if girls barfine before a certain time (say 10 or 11 pm, and sometimes the policy applies until closing), they are only released for 2 hours.
If they don't make it back within the allotted time frame, she has to pay a fine (part or all of the barfine) to the mamasan.
This is why girls are also quoting what seem to be unreasonably high rates for LT, on the rare occasions they offer it. It's not common knowledge. I am certain that this policy exists at Dollhouse, Shark and Lollipop to name a few. It does not exist at Tilac bar. But this policy is spreading fast, and it's not good for the girls or the customers.

They pull that shit cuz guys put up with it.

The mamasans pull that shit cause the girls are destitute and this is the only way for them to earn decent money. It's easy to dictate terms to them, especially when most of the bars are coordinating this policy as a group.
This is also why, I presume, there are fewer stunners working at gogo bars now compared to a few years back. The hot girls don't have to put up with such a restrictive policy. Once they get a reliable stable of customers, or learn to speak english well enough to troll for johns at the discos and late night pick-up spots, they 'graduate' from the gogos, which are becoming more oppressive--towards their staff and customers alike.

Trek, enjoy the bars by all means. Just make sure you know and agree to all terms before you leave. A lot of freelancers are ST only too.

Best bet for LTs is Pattaya. Bangkok used to be good for a night or two coming and going and half the reason was to see the city, temples, Muay Thai, shopping etc. In between though, Pattaya was always much better and more fun for mongering.

Good advice. I'm headed back next month and I'll put it to the test.

I went back to Rainbow 4 again, and this time, took note of who I was most interested in. She was #111 and in my opinion, the most attractive girl in the bar, but she didn't seem to get the attention I would expect. I took this to mean something, so I decided to try something new and got out of Nana Plaza.

My next stop was to the Ratchada(Ratchadapisek) area where I had a model quality girl at a place called Mirage in the past. Back then it was more of a hassle to get to this area, but with public transit improvements, it was easy. I took the subway to the Huei Kwang exit and walked the short distance to Mirage. My last day was an experimental day. I should have done it earlier, but I had been visiting a lot of regular tourist places and didn't muster the enthusiasm to experiment earlier.

I decided to try an one of the expensive, upscale places: Pegasus (CH Link). Pegasus is located on a sidestreet off Soi 23, there is more specific information in the Thailand section. Pegasus is a membership club with annual memberships costing 30k baht which includes two free barfines and a 50% discount on prices excluding barfines. Non-members can enter but are charged a 900 baht cover which includes 1 drink. Lady drink prices are 1800 baht for the first drink with a 45 minute time limit and 900 baht for drinks after that. Barfines are 3000 baht for shortime with "models" and 4000 baht for shortime with "stars". Long time is double the price. Some of the girls were only available for conversation, I didn't bother asking the price for that.

Unfortunately there were no stars available that night so I couldn't gauge their top talent. There were some attractive models, but none that I felt justified the price. I think I may eventually spluge with a star at this place someday, but this night I didn't feel any of the girls were worth the price.

Poseidon (CH Link) also had higher tier girls and was nearby, so I headed there next. I took the subway to the same exit next to Nataree and walked a few blocks to get there. It was past another place called VIP massage, but I didn't bother going in there.
