Located in the lobby of Nana Hotel on Soi 4/Sukhumvit. I walked into this place at 11 p.m. on my first night and the place was packed. The place is not that big. One bar to the right as you walk in. A decent-sized dance floor to the left with an additional bar to your far left. Many chairs and tables make this place a little cramped so it might be wise to get here early to get a seat.
The best selection of beautiful women that I saw at any time in Bangkok. I was floored. Be real selective because a lot of these girls don't look quite as hot in the light. I took a couple different girls at different times out to the lobby to decide which one I wanted to take out. These girls are freelancers so that they do not require bar fines and usually will go for 1000 baht short time or 1500 baht long time ($22 and $33 respectively). One of the girls I selected was a real sweetie and I ended up going out with her when I returned to Bangkok and she visited me in Pattaya briefly...no charge. These girls will melt your heart...be careful.

I still think the best overall freelance pickup place in Bangkok is the Angels disco in the Nana Botel. Admittedly the women tend to be on the younger side but for the chance of picking up a stunner, I would choose this disco over Thermae or the Grace Hotel coffee shop which would be the second and third choice for late night action. If you are still interested in paying barfines, then the Soi Cowboy and Nana Plaza have a good cross section of choice but the barfines are now up to 600 baht in several establishments and many of the girls, especially the attractive ones, hold out for 1500 baht. In the freelance places, I have never paid more than 1000 baht and have been turned down only two or three times over several visits.

There is a new entry charge of 160Bt($4.00) that includes one drink or beer. This place gets jammed after midnite. It closes at 2AM. Very Inportant there is no charge to take a lady to your room.

I’ve read allot on various boards about the go go’s and beer bars and I hear the discos (Angels in Bangkok and Marine in Pattaya) mentioned, but with very little details about the goings on inside. I think this information would be useful to the first timer as I really enjoyed picking up free lancers there.

I also think it's a great way to approach the hobby for the younger traveler (20's and 30's). You avoid the bar fine and it feels more like a real pick up at a nightclub. Neither disco are all that differant then a western club and the approach is much the same except that the girls there are far more friendly and receptive to your advances.

Angels had about a 60/40 ratio of women to men, many very attractive. I would go in, buy a beer and then find a spot against the wall and just stand and observe. Don't feel like you have to jump at the first thing that comes along unless you see someone you just have to have. I learned that it pays to take your time and take in the total view. There were a very good number of attractive women so one shouldn’t feel like they will miss out if they don’t act fast.

If you feel like dancing, fine, go up to any unattached woman and depending on your look and approach you have at least 90% chance of being successful. I simply went out to the floor by myself whenever I saw a woman I was attracted to dancing alone or with another girl.

If you don't want to dance it takes very little time to find your date for the night. On several occasions, I went up to a woman, small talked for maybe 5 minutes and then said do you want to go to my room for short time? This is one advantage to staying at the Nana hotel (The disco is located there) since it’s so easy to stroll up to your room. Also there is a security guard at the elevator who takes all the girls ID’s before they go to your room. This is for your protection. Be glad they do it, especially with free lancers as it’s your only way of tracking them down should anything happen.

It’s hard to imagine just how forward you can be with the woman at first because it is just like a regular dance club. If you brought someone in and didn’t tell them it was a club full of hookers I don’t think you would ever know.

Only one girl turned me down, I think because I was too fast and she wanted it to appear more spontaneous. I just asked her straight up, as I did with the others, if she would come to my room for 1,000 baht. I say she was pretending to want to be spontaneous because 15 minutes later when I was talking to another woman she came up to me and started dancing right in front of me, by herself, smiling at me.

Each time they were very happy with $1,000 baht for short time. Perhaps I should have tried for less because they all seemed happy with this.

If you want to try a more “spontaneous” approach to the hobby, I highly recommend Angels. Lots of hot women, easy to approach, and no bar fine. Feels a little more like a hunt although we all know the odds are stacked in our favor.

I agree, better looking girls here than most of the soapy massage parlors. If you are a shy person, this place and other freelancer places are not for you. The massage placed have some winners but are way too sterile and quick.

I went here and was extremely impressed. Saw an old girlfriend and she was crying. I wanted to stay but she and her friends were yelling at me. There were better looking girls here than just about anywhere in BKK. Stunning girls without the attitude at a good price. This place rules. Most of the girls will not be into threesomes but you might find a few. Even if you pay em however ,they might not really be into it- just in for the cash. May not be a great time for your wife. Your best bet is still the Disneyland for adults-- Eden Club. The girls there are either truly bi or fantastic actresses. Go at 12:40 for view of all the girls and pick out the 1 or 2 you like to barfine for later-- after 10PM-- if you do not want to stay there. They will come to your hotel after 10.

Another update here.Went Friday night 9/3.Door fee up to 300 bht now with a drink.Place was about half full about 11;30,and in about 15 minutes it was packed.When I first went over to the dance floor this girl started grabbing my crotch.I'm don't that much so I moved on.It could have been an LB.Finally ended up with a girl who said she worked at a beauty salon.Very inexperienced.She was nice enough though but the sex was barely ok.At least she gave oral.I usually have good luck here but anywhere its a roll of the dice.On to next adventure.

I think Soi Nana area has way more to offer. Morning Night beer bar on Soi Nana has consistently hot girls, who by and large deliver great experiences.If you're into go gos just wander around Nana Plaza - believe me you will find something that floats your boat.

Explore724 That is just one place out of many in the Nana area. It's all right there in a very small area. Nana Plaza is about 20 feet from Maoring Night beer bar. You can check it all out easily and choose what is best for you. You gotta do the go gos also of course. Go see Dave and check out the Rainbow bars for sure.

I sit inside the lobby of Nana hotel and watch the girls go by as they head down the hall to Angels Disco. You get some regular freelancers and an interesting mix of office and company girls and girls from the village that are new in town. No need to show up til after 11:00. An Angel from Angels.

The Nana Hotel cocktail lounge is open until late (at least 3am) and there are BG's hanging out there too. Beers are 100 baht and you can get a late drink after Angel's Disco closes. Angel's Disco still have an entrance cover charge so be prepared for that. I think it still remains 300 baht but it does include your first drink. Too many "cheap charlies" were going inside and not ordering drinks. FYI - Angel's Disco closes around 1.45-2.00am.

AN UPDATE - "ANGELS" or Nana Disco was closing at 3am but the closing time is currently around 2am (due to Police politics). There is a 400 baht cover charge but this does include one drink of your choice. Still as popular as ever with wall-to-wall freelancers. There is now a lounge area at the back behind the bar. Fancy term "chill out lounge" - monger term "interview room".

10 bucks for a cover? That's an expensive first drink. Especially when the parking lot's FREE.

Yeah, Phoenix, I think you are missing one thing. 400 baht cover, plus one free drink equals 300 baht (or less) for the cover. And there's no barfine. And there are, often, a fair number of hotties at Angels. And, perhaps most importantly, the gogos have closed already. I agree that going to NaNa Disco when the gogos are open doesn't make alot of sense. If I want to drink with friends after my bar closes, I either go to another bar in my Plaza or hit the street bars on Sukhumvit. That being said, I'm generally not that interested in pulling a woman. If I was, I might well hit Angels. The pickings on the street are plentiful but, by and large, not what I consider attractive.

Hi Mano, yes the drink included in the 400 baht cover could be worth as much as 200 baht. It is a drink of YOUR choice. BKK doesn't suffer the "CCC" or Cheap Charlie Club like Pattaya, but why do some guys complain about a few bucks here and there? I just don't get that. As Phoenixguy says, charging a 10 dollar cover charge is similar to paying a barfine before getting to decide if you're even going to pick anyone or not. You can argue that it's 'only' a few bucks, or you can rationalize it that it's meal money for a day in LOS.

And Mano P, my limited experience in the Nana parking lot has often led to disappointment with the selection available there as well, but from what I remember, it's tough for the girls to get in and out of the disco inside Nana Hotel without going through the parking lot!

Over the last three years, Angels went from 0 to 400 baht. ST went from 1000 to 2000 baht. LT went from 1500-2000 to 2500-4000 baht. Barfines in gogos went from 300-400 to 600 baht. In beer bars, from 300 to 500.

Get out your calculator. Percentage-wise, those are huge increases, especially in such a short time. And it's not like the local economy has rabidly out of control inflation, because Thailand doesn't and hasn't.

Yeah, you could just hang in the parking lot, you're right, there. That being said, when I'm out late at night, I like to drink. So, I guess I come at it more from the perspective of "where can I find (potentially) hot women, while having a drink?". As you point out, though, if it's only open for an hour, you're under a bit of pressure to make a selection, whereas I prefer to hang out, get a feel for the girl's personality, and down a few leisurely cocktails before deciding whether or not I'm interested in going with a girl. Generally, I'm not a "point and shoot" kinda guy, when it comes to selecting a woman, hence, the whole parking lot scene has never appealed to me. As always, different people have different goals. I'm not what you'd call a big fan of NaNa Disco (or discos in general). But it is one venue that serves alcohol, is open afterhours and generally has a few girls that are very good looking. While you can get laid afterhours by just wandering up and down Sukhumvit, the selection there is often more than a bit frightening.

He decided that there was no other action he could take. The place is packed every night as it always has been a popular place. The guy is trying to make money so I see his point. Again, this does include a drink of your choice. In all due respect mongers don't always see, or don't want to see the owners side of things.

Personally, I think giving 2 drink credits w/ the cover would a better business decision. The fact is, owners have a margin they want to make and apparently he wasn't.

I went into Angels only once—on my first trip to BKK—and I think it was quite late (around if not after 1 AM). In short order, I found a stunner for LT with perhaps the best PSE I've ever had. I beat another guy over to her by a length, she was (I think) returning from a ST, and would not have lasted a minute more. So my "investment" paid off, she was much better than the "pickings" I've taken on several occasions from the parking lot.

Of course, I'm getting the reputation with one of my friends for being profligate, so I'm sure he won't be surprised that I blew the (I think it was) 350 baht to get in and get my diet Coke, or that I didn't even try to negotiate her 3,000 baht asking price (actually, that was because I was such a newbie).

However, somehow I didn't make it back during the subsequent 6 weeks or so spent in BKK since....Maybe that says something....

Nor should we particularly care about bar owners when trying to enjoy ourselves the best we can. If Angel's is offering a quality experience they should have no problem attracting customers, and I believe you, Dave, if you're saying the place is packed, so they must be doing something right. Personally, however, I think 400 baht is gouging, especially when they close early, and unless I have a generous benefactor (thanks AGAIN Merlin for paying the 300 baht cover the night we went there together back in '04!), I'd pass.

Nana Disco is not for everybody and in LOS you can walk into bars free of charge. Porker, I see your point. For those against the controversial "barfine" this is a cheaper alternative. 400 baht is less thann the 600+ baht demanded by many BKK bars and one drink is included. If you deducy a more expensive drink then your only paying around 200 baht.

Many times I'll sit outside Angel's in the lobby of Nana hotel or if I want a beer there is a small bar to the left of the entrance to the Disco. It’s a perfect place to watch the girls come and go and much easier to see what you’re getting and no cover. 1000 baht ST is what I paid for this Cheap Charley’s Angel.

Hi Bahtman, LOL! This is a great approach - wait, watch and then pounce on them! Some great mongers catch them on the way into the disco, close a deal and then leave together. Street smart!

It's interesting that mongers complain about high prices (whether it be cover charges, bar fines, ST/LT rates) etc. yet many of these bars/clubs/girls can command these higher prices. As a monger, not a bar owner or working girl, I'd much prefer to see prices lower of course, but you can hardly blame the seller if they are able to find buyers at the price they are asking. That's free enterprise. The only way to combat it is to try to be smart and not pay the higher prices, when you know you can do as well or better elsewhere. Unfortunately, there seems to be a plethora of buyers that don't know or don't care what they should be paying.
