Golden Time is a very upscale massage establishment in the Plaza Mirage shopping center in the El Dorado area of Panama. It is owned by M (name withheld by request) and her Chinese husband and has been open for about 4 years. There are always between 30-35 ladies present 99% of which are from Colombia and most are very beautiful. The Colombianas are granted one year visas by the Panamanian government so there is always a constant turnover and many new faces on a weekly basis. On my first night in Panama I visited the Golden Time to check out the program. I attempted to get information from the manager (owners sister C ) but she was very reluctant to divulge anything to a total stranger. On my third night there, I had a very cordial interview with the owner and discovered the following:

After passing through Security, you enter the lobby area. There is a floor mounted five foot tall painting blocking the view through the next set of doors of the establishment. Very important for discretion minded Panamanian men. You are immediately invited to a room of perhaps 10X25 with 8 towel draped recliner chairs, a bench seat and numerous small side stools. There is a TV with Spanish speaking DVD’s showing current run movies. After being offered your beverage of choice, the manager brings in the girls one at a time for your perusal. The girls each have a number (reminiscent of Thailand), enter, do a slight pose and exit. Unfortunately (and I mentioned this to M as a constructive criticism) they come and go all to fast to get a good look and catch their numbers at the same time. I actually wound up asking for a repeat performance along with another gentleman who had entered about the same time I did. They paraded through again and this time armed with pen and paper, I managed to write down three prospective candidates. My poor compadre was as lost as I was on the first round. I asked for a repeat of my top three and settled on a beautiful 21 year old blond from a small city just outside of Bogota. She came and sat on one of the stools next to my chair and we spent a little time getting to know one another. The main purpose of this room is not only selection, but it gives you an opportunity to get to know the lady before retiring for your session and to discuss your preferences. If you are not happy with your first selection, the management will allow you as many opportunities as you like to find a suitable alternative. I was also told if your experience is not to your liking, or the lady is not pleasing, you can ask for a different lady, refund of your money or credit on a future session. If you are rude or ugly to the ladies, you will be asked to leave, have your money refunded and be escorted out by security.

After a few minutes of idle chit chat, we went upstairs to our room. The room was well appointed with a thick mattressed massage table, private shower, robe, towels and lotion. The room was very clean, had dimmers for the lights, telephone and all the necessities for an enjoyable session. The lovely lady proceeded to provide an excellent massage and other services as requested. Afterwards, we took a very nice hot shower, toweled off and I exited Golden Time well satisfied.

Price is $90 if you arrive by Taxi, or $80 if you arrive by private car for a one hour time period. Fifty of the eighty goes to the girl and the house keeps the difference. On an average night, a girl will have 1-3 customers. Busiest nights are Fri. and Sat with Sun and Mon being the slowest.

As soon as the girl enters the room with you, she checks in with the front desk to confirm her room number and starting time. There are 10 separate rooms equally well appointed as well as a large Sauna which can be used before or after your session. You can have a massage only for $60 per hour and if you only wish to use the Sauna it is $10 per hour. If you wish to take out a lady for the night the cost is $350 with $200 to the lady and $150 to the house.

What truly separates Golden Time from other Panamanian establishments is how well it is managed. The ladies have health check ups once per week. If they do not pass the health exam, immigration is immediately notified and they are deported back to Colombia. They are not allowed to smoke or chew gum in the community areas and are provided mouthwash for after smoke breath fresheners. They are required to arrive on time (hours of operation are 7:30PM to 4:00AM) and absolutely no drugs are allowed (grounds for immediate deportation). The ladies are allowed to live in their desired area of choice within Panama and are encouraged to learn some English while present.

When I asked the owner (M) how she recruited her ladies, she informed me it was mostly by word of mouth. Other girls who had worked there had told them about Golden Time, made contact with (M), sent pictures and been granted an opportunity to work there.

As I was on assignment in Panama to report on places for single travelers to visit, I can honestly say Golden Time is the premier place in Panama to visit. No other establishment came close to the quality of the ladies, cleanliness of the establishment or value for services provided. If you are ever in Panama, you must make Golden Time a stop on your agenda. Good news for members of TSM, Hombre, WSA and WSG, (M) has graciously extended an offer of an additional 15 minutes to members of our clubs. Just mention one of the above organizations and “Sandman” and you will immediately be rewarded with a 25% bonus of time allotted with your lady of choice.

Golden Time was my most often visited establishment in Panama. The only place I could find with as many attactive ladies was the Le Palace Strip Club. But unlike Le Palace, one need not spend a great amount of money to remove the lady from the club nor wait until the next day for a private arrangement or cita.

Just back. Charges are now as follows,
1 hour in house, no taxi $84
1 hour if taxi brings you $94
1-1/2 hours at hotel, no taxi $130
1-1/2 hours at hotel, with taxi $150

Sandman's description is good. A couple of items, in July, 2003 there were about 25 women working there, and if you come at a bad hour, customers can outnumber available women. Monday at 1:00 AM was very busy, maybe 15 customers and 8-10 available women, while Thursday and Saturday around 3:00 AM had a good selection. So maybe the secret is to go early or late.

Take-out to your hotel is better than doing it in house in my opinion -- those little massage tables just don't do it for me. If you have a favorita, you can call them and they'll send her over to your hotel (or go by, select one and go back to your hotel).

Follow Vladimir's advice -- tell the cab driver to take you to the Burger King in front of Plaza California. If he's never heard of Plaza California, tell him it's next to Plaza Mirage. If Burger King is closed, tell him to drop you off anyway because you're going to meet someone who's going to pick you up in a car. (My traveling buddy came up with this one -- worked well.)

Unless you mention it, I think this place assumes you came by taxi.They accidently charged me 150 for take out sin Taxi.I thought it was too much at time but thought the prices might have went up. I explained the mistake on my second trip and they acknowledged the mistake but said there was no way to prove it.
No big deal,as I ended up with two winners and a freebee on a afternoon date. Also there are two Plaza Californias. Make sure you say the one in Tumba muerto.

If it's late and everything else is closed and you suspect your taxi driver is going to hassle you for trying to stiff him of his commission, you can have him drop you off at the 24hr 99 store across the street. You'll have to walk a little, but the taxi drivers can be a huge pain in the ass.

This place has the best selection of women in panama. It's best to have to taxi driver drop you off close to Golden Time because you will pay extra. The women are all colombian and beautiful. If you go to panama, you must visit this place.

The place is better than ever. Do not look anywhere else in Panama. You will not find better value for money!

Don't forget - request room #10 so you can get a real bed vs a massage table.
If it is busy, chill out with the girl you selected and have a beer or two while you wait for the room to open.

Iīm five days into my first mongering seven day trip. Golden Time had such Great reviews that I thought that Iīd save the best for last. After testing almost every other Massage Parlor(some twice, they were that good)in PC, I finally decide to go to GT. I carefully followed the advice posted regarding having the Taxi drop me off at Burger King. I walked into the front lobby and was sent to another waiting room. When I was walking to the second waiting room I saw the hottest babe that Iīve seen in Panama. I thought; Great! GT was going to be everything described by you guys. The Pimp then enters the room and gives me the prices. $84 per hour. A full $24 more per hour than any other MP in Panama, but I was prepaired for this by reading all of your posts regarding this establishment. I just figured that if GT is so much better than the other MPs that I had a GREAT time in , that it would be worth $24 extra. Now comes time to choose my lady. I already knew which lady I wanted from when I first walked in. I broke out my pen and paper like a good little Club Hombre Member and was prepared to write her number down. One after another three ladys walk in. None of them were my desired lady. I asked where she was. The Pimp stated that there were no others. I told him that I saw another when I firstb walked in. He said come look for yourself. I pointed to her sitting on the couch. He stated shes not available. I guess that shes too busy keeping the couch warm. So I picked a second choice(she had buck teeth, but was still the best remaining Lady). We go up to the room. It has no toilet in it, so I go back down the hall to use the toilet. Thereīs no bed in the room, just a massage table. She doesnīt speak one single word of english. Not one word. She proceeds to give me a half assed rub down with some hand lotion that smells like a pile of shit! When it comes time to get down to business. I request a BBBJ. No way she says. She puts on the condom and proceeds to give me a decent BJ for about 30 seconds or so ( just long enough to get me hard). Then she rides me cowboy style. This 22 YO has the sloppiest pussy in Panama. Plus she put that dog shit lotion on it. Every 30 seconds like clock work she wants a knew position. About 2 minutes into the deed, she begins to whine...Fineto. Fineto. Fineto. I donīt understand why people are giving this place such great reviews. I can only conclude that they are recieving some financial compensation from GT. The whole purpose of this club is to warn people to stay away from these rip off places! There are many MPs in Panama that are far superior. Donīt pay the extra $24 just get ripped off.

I have been to PC well over 30 times in the past 10 years and I believe I can attest to the fact that GT (IMHO)is the best place in town. That may only mean it is the best of a bad lot but still the best in terms of facilities, number and quality of girls and the professionalism of the management staff.

I did have one lousy experience there and complained to the management about her. I got a discount the next day when I returned. I did session with one girl three times that I quickly placed in my all time top ten list. Like most places, YMMV on any given night.

A couple of things surprise me though! Only 3 girls in the line-up? I have never seen less than about 15 and have seen as many as 35 (the reason for the pen and paper). You must have hit a really busy night or their ability to attract these Colombian girls is diminishing.

Lastly, as far as any compensation, I get exactly what every other member on this and other boards receive. An extra 15 minutes of cabine time by mentioning CH and Sandman.

Sorry you had a bad experience but I would not write this place off so quickly. Go back and give it another try with a different girl. Be more selective and spend more time in the wait room with her (if you can speak a little spanish). I have returned several that I did not click with after a few minutes. Were they ever surprised......and, the newly selected girls were very quick to make sure I was pleased. They did not want the shame or embarrassment of being thrown back into the pond!

I posted that message from an Internet Cafe right down the road from the GT. I was still pissed off about the whole experience when I wrote it. I needed to vent my frustrations.

Regarding the extra 15 minutes. I didnīt even get a full 15 minutes, and I paid for a whole hour.

What pissed me off the most, was the bait and switch scam they pulled on me. They had that incredibally hot babe in the first waiting room before and after my session. Then the pimp refused to talk about it. Oh well, live and learn.

This is my first mongering trip so I donīt have anything to compare it to except the USA, but as far as the other MPs being sub par. I think that they are far superior to any MP that I have paid three times the price for in the USA.

Panama is a very unusual chocie for a first hobbying trip, I assume you chose that country for other reasons.

I'd have to doublecheck my report to be for certain, but I don't believe I received any BBBJ's in Panama. Different countrys have different norms, BBBJ in Panama isn't one of them. I did have a fair amount of kissers in Panama, but I knew better than to expect even that.

The massage tables definitely a valid point, I'm not sure if that's been stressed enough that some of the rooms are small and sex on the massage table is uncomfortable. You can try to get the bedroom on the end or do take-out for an additional fee.

I have only been to Panama once, but made a number of visits to GT and was pleased each time. This was a while ago, so things may have changed, but I'd have a difficult time believing any other MP has caught up to the average quality/service level of GT in that time frame.

I visited GT for the first time a couple of months ago. I watched the reaction of each chica as she was introduced. Some had lovely jugs but had a disinterested look. Some got my motor racing but there was not even a smile on their part. These I ignored and choose a girl that was cute and smiling. I speak enough spanish to carry on a good conversation and showed a lot of interest in her. I got my bbbj without asking and she was educated charming and wanted me to hang around after and chat. My advice is don't let the little head choose the girl and you just might get more than you bargained for.

I've never been asked for extra money for anything at GT (although I have given a tip occasionally for extra special service). As tightly as that place is managed, I doubt they let the girls collect money for anything.....so, it wasn't and extra charge from GT. It was an extra charge by the girl (which I'll bet the management frowns upon as well).

Be careful of the SG's there (and you were very smart to check her purse) cause the cops are really keeping an eye on their activity these days.

This place has the absolute best women in Panama. The most recent price (yesterday) is $94 with a taxi arrival and $84 without.

The extra 15 minutes if you mention Club Hombre still works.

The main thing this place seems to have going for it is high quality women and a wide selection. I only did one lady there, but I was thoroughly disappointed with the session. No kissing, no BBBJ, no picture and no fingers inside. I felt like I was in TJ.

The chick was hot, super hot, but I left bummed out and decided not to return after that visit. I did manage to get there without having to pay the taxi surcharge, but I could not get the ClubHombre extra time deal. It would not have mattered though, the chick I was with continually rushed the session with pleas of "finish, finish."

The facilities are nice, but the beds are fairly uncomfortable massage tables that aren't very wide. For my money, you'd do much better to walk down the street to Club Miami instead. But perhaps I just chose badly as well.

However, I met a local there and he said his session was bad as well. I guess YMMV.

Golden Time still has the best talent IMO, lots of new, beauties from Colombia. Next day I got dropped off at McDs and no probl.

A suggestion was made in another thread was to be dropped off at Niko's around the corner. Its more believable that you would be going there than to take a taxi to Burger King.

Sandman, Golden Time is no longer honoring your extra 15 minute deal in Panama City. As a newbie to the boards and the hobby I read your posts (and Merlin's) about Colombians in Panama with excitement. I and a business partner of mine had to start going to Panama for business this past summer (7 times the past six months). IT was a great way to start the hobby. So thanks to the boards we didn't make complete fools of ourselves. However, we were sad to learn that GT no longer does the Sandman 15. We asked every trip from June - October. And while we did became "good customers" who did get nicer service and at first better attitudes even with the girls, we never got the famed 15 extra minutes. Looks like you need to go back and set them straight! Grin.

In my VERY LIMITED EXPERIENCE I would like to add to the body of Hombre lore:

Vary your destination a little. Don't stick to one city or worse yet bar/club night after night... trip after trip... it gets a little... umm. Messy? If you go to one or two places a lot and take out different girls, the girls become... ummm... interesting shall I say? I thought that they would just be cold or uncaring, its amazing how girls stay girls no matter what their jobs are.

Ah the drama, the gossip, the politics, the cat fighting, the scratching... and that was what they did to us... imagine at what happened to the poor girls they got mad at... GRIN

One time a "girlfriend" (yeah thats it) of mine that I visited EVERY trip from Miami Club, was at the local government clinic talking about me to her friend from GT. Side lesson: Nice Hotels don't like it when Gringos have two screaming blond haired colombians screaming at them. That said, GT is still one of the better options but as others have said YMMV. Yes, I agree with Merlin that the attitudes overall are worse today than when I started (not that it is very long ago). I went a number of times and had decent to good experiences, I think my friend now has stock in the company or they just gave him the keys. He has had, maybe 3 bad experiences, but the management did a decent job of making it up to him via extra time. The girls here are consistantly younger, fresher and very beautiful. Rarely does GT have an ugly girl.

Miami is in second place, and a lot more my style of sitting talking and drinking, but you have to put up with a more mixed group of hot/not hot. The place is really starting to hurt after getting busted and shut down earlier this summer due to immigration issues. The Oriental owner, has got quite a problem on his hands and may not make it. In June he had 70 girls (that is day and night girls total), now he has 17 (total). No really. Most of his girls are jumping ship as fast as his clients are, (well other than his asian clients who will remain with him). I recommend you stop in and check before you write it off because gringos are doing REALLY well for themselves right now... but be prepared to leave quickly if the selection is bad that night.

Le Place and Elite are next mostly due to pricing of drinks and girls. For a change of scenery (and to escape the drama we created for ourselves only going to the other two places so much) we go and have a couple of drinks at Le Palace and Elite and tend to hook up with the girls out of work, although you really have to be careful, Elite's, now American Management, has paid heavily to keep all Hotels on there side to inform Elite of their girls activities... All Colombians in the business in Panama carry a special card and are virtually owned by their night club bosses. The guy at Elite is probably the most vigilant. Don't go to Elite and pay as the girls are spolied from the fact that all the rich guys go there and literally dump $500 to $1000 for an all nighter. As dumb as I am, I never paid more than $220 for an all nighter (that included a very heavy bar exit fee). Yes, I know it is too much but I feel better when I think, hey I'm new to the hobby AND I'm not paying that kind of money! I am assured by many (girls, drivers, other mongers) that there are rich grinos, colombians, panamaians, and asians actually paying this kind of money. Having watched how many times they ordered $17 drinks, I am beginning to believe that money is no object to these guys...

Again, jsut get their number if you like them that much, All colombians get one day off per week, find out her day off or go elsewhere. We never had to ask, once they realized that we weren't going to buy a ton of drinks or take them home, but we told them that they were beautiful and we wished there was a way to see them under different circumstances they would volunter their numbers and in more than one occasion where to meet them at 5am, 8am, or when their day off was.

On another side note... Merlin you were right about the blonds in Miami Club. I love traditional brown colombians, but there really is something about Blond Colombians from Cali. Grin.

Your Panama advice was so on the mark I went to the motherland... I just got back from a three week Cali and MDE trip... Panama? What's Panama? Golden Time? Ummm... Never heard of it...

Was in Miami club recently, day time about 6-8 girls, mostly average and blonde. Was told it was 60 an hour and after a couple of beers I decided to go for it. Hand the bar man 60 and he say 80. Took the 60 back and left. The girl said it is 60 but 80 for gringos, but I may get lucky being asian and if I could speak chinese, which I don't. The prices DO vary depending on gringo or not. Do not give the money to the guy, talk only to the girls, get them to take the money straight to the owner, the owners wife, or the manager (sitting out of sight around the middle of the bar). If they aren't asian, they aren't the top 3 people there. ANyway the girl has every reason to try and get you the non gringo price. Miami girls are having to work fairly hard right now to stay alive the number of customers has been bad all fall...

The owner, Chun, is Korean, so the Chinese wouldn't help you anyway. Grin.

However, being Asian will help with him, as for the girls, about 75% of the girls love the asian clients the other 25% don't so if you detect attitude, switch girls!

Well I'll be... I can speak some korean, damn, I did not know that. Oh well, don't plan on going back to panama anytime soon, rather go back to Medellin if I'm going that far.

For various reasons, on my way back from Medellin the plane had to stop in Panama. They bussed us into town and put us up for the night. Unfortunately, it was a Sunday so options were limited. I went to Golden Time.

As always, the selection was wonderful and talent was off the charts. I had a hard time choosing as five to ten ladies were in the 8-9 range. However, the service in this place is pretty much on par with AB in TJ.

Covered BJ's were always the norm for me, ladies wanted extras for pictures or didn't want to take them at all, and it is not exactly cheap there as well. They wanted to charge me $94 US even after I insisted I hadn't come in a taxi. Then the lady called or radioed out front to verify it and I finally got charged $84 instead.

It is good for talent. But not so good in the service department.

And too bad GT charges so much for good-looking chicas who "sometimes" fuck poorly. Talent is so hard to predict when going by looks. But given the number of chicas at GT, I'm sure that there must be some within the lot that fuck okay.

Although I can afford it, I don't go to GT because I don't believe in paying gringo prices. I used to be a regular customer back when Club Miami was more of a MP rather than a bar...but now they've changed their profile and raised prices...I'm not a big fan any longer. Royal Elegance Center too has a chip on their shoulder as they often try to gouge gringos or reduce the session time to something less than 1-hour.

I accept a greater challenge to find diamonds in the ruff via other locations at cheaper (normal) prices of $20 at the door and $40 with the chica or picking one up in a club or casino...sometimes for free.

Best prices for okay chicas....5-7s can be had at Caribbean Center, Hawaii Center, River Club, Relax Oriental and Greta Azul. I haven't been to Oasis or Life Girls yet...guess I need to give them a try next-time.

Supply and demand is the bottom line in Panama, as it is in most other world mongering locations. As long as foreigners are willing to pay the price, the price will continue to climb until business drops off.

Maybe we should boycott GT...perhaps they will lower their prices and the starving chicas will learn to fuck more agressively to earn their keep?

Oasis is a good place. The selection can be light but the attitudes are great.

Also, if you see one you like and session a few times with her, the service gets much better.

Lastly, make a date with them outside work. I sometimes didn't need to ask for a girls number, she would just give it to me.

A small story of making a classic mistake - I was on my way to Medellin, unfortunately due to bad weather in Houston, got to PC without making the connecting trip to MDE. Thanks to Continental, got put up at Mariott for free.

I wasn't planning on PC for this trip so I haven't RTFF, but I quickly scanned CH for places to go and GT seemed like a can't miss location. I went to the front of the hotel and ask them to get a cab - they hail a cab that was parked across the street - it was an old Oldsmobile without the taxi light on top of the roof. Anyways, I take the taxi and ask to go to Goldentime - I ask him if it's safe to hail a cab from the street and he hesitates and says not always. He asks for $5 and offers to wait and take me back for another $10. I thought about it for a second, and not knowing the security situation in PC, I err on the side of safety(?) and said ok.

I session with a Colombiana (Allison) with big tits who got me in and out in 35 minutes - kept on saying "que Linda" in a very disingenious way... but she was pretty darn hot and I wasn't too dissatisfied - she way near the top of the tier judging from TJ's standards (probably above average per MDE standards). CBJ, CG, DG the MISH LFK butno BBBJ or DFK (despite multiple attempts).

So I walk out and the cabbie was waiting for me. After about 2 minutes on the road, we get pulled over by police. It turns out I didn't bring my passport with me, and it looks like they're threatening to take me back to the Police station for lack of documentation - using the cabbie as the go between, cabbie suggest that we pay $20-30 to avoid trip to the police station. Knowing I have to catch a flight in 7 hours, I agree - he says he's going to pay first and then I can pay him. He then takes $20 out of his wallet carefully and shows the money to me. We drive off. I pay him $20(police fine) + $10 (return cab fee).

I have a feeling that the police scam was a planned operation - now reading the CH, $15 for roudntrip cab ride to GT from Marriott (not to mention the $20 police bribe) was a ripoff. Wow. Sorry dude, but you were a victim of what is called "gotcha gringo". Okay, lesson learned. It could have been worse.

Some basic rules for Panama:

1). Always ask the cab driver driving an (out-of-ordinary) full-size American car if he is a tourist/luxury taxi...they always charge more. Most average taxis in PC are compact pieces of shit full of dents. Standard cab fare from the Marriott to El Dorado is $1.50 - $2.00.

2). Waiting-time for standard cabs in PC is $1 per 10-minutes. Unless it is rush hour when it is difficult to get a cab...or unless you are in a remote location...or unless you are only going to be a minute or two...why pay to have a cab wait? You can hail a cab in Panama within 3-minutes on all major thoroughfares when it is not rush hour.

3). Unless you don't have a clue where the MP is located, always have your cab drop you off at another business location near the MP. RE: MPs pay taxi drivers a commission to bring-in customers...this drives up your session costs by another $10-$20.

4). US driver's license is not adequate ID in Panama. If you do not have proper ID on you, the cops can detain you in jail for many hours and fine you a whopping $5. Good idea to photocopy your passport before departing the US...keep copies in your wallet, in your bags, etc. Upon arrival in Panama, after your passport has been stamped, get another photocopy of the stamped portion and also your Tourist Visa. I was stopped by cops in April. I handed them a photocopy of my passport. They asked me why the photocopy? I explained that I kept my passport in the hotel lock-box so it will not get stolen or lost. They agreed that this was a good idea. The cops let me go, but suggested that next-time I also photocopy the entrance stamp and also have a copy of my Tourist Visa...they didn't mess with me too much because I was respectful and nice.

5). The standard traffic stop bribe in Panama starts at $5 negotiated upward given how serious the offense. Never ask another Panamanian to negotiate your own bribes...they will naturally inflate it then take a cut. It could very well be that the cab driver talked to the cops while you were getting laid...I find it hard to believe the cops would randomly pull-over a cab just to check your ID...they were watching you or were tipped-off by your driver...nice guy, huh?

Again, when bribing the cops...start low $5. Though $10 is a deal considering you don't want to get hauled-off to jail...pretend like $10 is a lot of money to you. Do your best to make them think you will draw the line and accept either a ticket or getting detained rather than pay them more than $10. Remember, most cops don't want to write a ticket or haul you in if they can make a little pocket money. If they want more than $10 and seem willing to take you in...offer $12...in other words, break the $5 or $10 incremental increases. I was taken for a $20 only once and that is because I didn't have a $10...my lesson...I now make sure to carry small bills too in Panama.

In one of my former posts I tell the story of how when Bush was in town (November 05) the police were everywhere checking everything. Stupidly, I forgot my Passport on the way to Santiago from PC, got stopped by several guys with sub-machine guns, who actually were pretty nice and cool guys, but none the less, said I could not drive my rental car any further without a passport. My pal had to take a bus from Santiago and drive me back to PC, and considering I had a ton of business to do this day it was an extreme pain in the ass. I waited there telling old american jokes to the submachine gun panamanians for three hours, cracking them up until my friend arrived to take me back.

Be careful about the bribing thing in Panama, since at times they have this so called "clean up corruption" thing happening. You should only bribe a cop if he is more or less alone. Going back and forth between PC and Santiago, I have been pulled over at least 12 times for speeding, and actually once for going too slow! At all times those fuckers were alone and were easily paid off with $10. They give you a nice smile and send you on your merry way; it's almost like they spot the gringo and look for an excuse to pull him over. I have yet to meet a Panamanian cop who will not take $10 and let you go, however if you try to bribe them amongst a group of cops, or even when a buddy cop is around, you stand the chance of trouble and arrest for the bribe, so be discriminatory here. Use common sense and proper judgment of character. Chances are if they are becomming increasing friendly to you as you speak, they will take the cash.

In my case in November I knew I was shit out of luck since it seemed like there were a dozen of so standing around my car. Once the police captain committed to not letting me drive any further, the possibility of a bribe vanished. I guess I was his poster-boy for the day to prove he was actually doing his job.

Yeah, what SP says is true. I got stopped by 3 cops all on Huffy motorcycles. I could tell they all wanted a bribe. The ranking cop sent the other two on their way when he detected that I wasn't going to do any wheeling and dealing with 3 of them standing around. I got the evil eye from the two losers as they walked back to their bikes.

When I started taking money out of my wallet the lone cop motioned for me to step further behind my car so no passers-by would see him actually taking a bribe...I offered $5 to start, but he took me for $10 that day.

It is good to offer the $5 and act like you belive he should take that, cordially. You know, act like a Panamanian. Bull shit him for a moment or two, and then say okay, for you it's a $10. I don't believe the going bribe rate is $5 anymore. They just won't except that, so get used to paying $10. This will get you out of most trouble you may encounter with the cops in Panama. The whole "anti-corruption thing is BS and everyone knows it. Just means that for a while you have to duck behind something to offer money.

Actually if you just refuse, what happens? When I was in Russia in 2001, I just sat there until the guy got sick of me and let me go.

I later realized that I could have bribed him for $4 USD and my time was worth more than that. So I stuffed a $100 Ruble note ($4 at the time) into my passport. They would stop me, I hand them my passport and they handed it back empty saying everything was in order.

It happened everyday. The cops hung around the hooker places and followed you. It started to become funny and very predictable.

A matter of fact, one day I was heading out of Marty's Boarhouse in Moscow and I saw a cop. I walked up to him and gave him one hundred rubles and told him I just didn't want to take the time to be pulled over, can he just escort us to our hotel. He took it!

There was one-time I got pulled-over West of PC for speeding (112KM in a 100KM zone...what is that...like 8 MPH over the speed limit?). The motorcycle cop made me get out and walk back to his bike so I could see the radar gun for myself.

He started lecturing me about driving too fast. Then he told me that I would have to pay the fine before I departed Panama. When I asked him where I must go to pay the fine, he pulled-out a book with about a dozen addresses all in Spanish...I didn't have a clue where these places were located. So, I asked more questions.

I did my best to talk to him in Spanish, but I speak only survival Spanish. After 20-minutes of his lecturing and my attempts to answer his questions in Spanish...and since I never really got an opportunity to even hint towards a bribe...he told me he would let me go because I made a good attempt to communicate with him in Spanish. And I was just getting ready to reach for my wallet...go figure...I guess I got lucky?

I was once driving in the left lane about 35 KPH because I saw the fucker on his bike ahead of me. The bastard gets in the middle of the road and pulls me over anyway for going to fucking slow!

He too, had a some kind of notebook with several dozen or so names written on the back. He proceeded to write my name and address from my US drivers license on the same list, but did not write up a ticket. He too began to lecture me about what-the-fuck. About a minute into this I pulled out my wallet and he smiled. I handed him $5 and he looked at me puzzled. I then handed him another $5 and it was like someone pushed the happy button on this guys face. He told me he had no problem with me and thought I was a great guy (I was talking to him about Mariano Rivera of the NY Yankees), and adios.

I just consider that if I want to travel as fast as I want on the Panamerican HWY, bribe money must be figured in as they are going to pull you over no matter what. I keep trying to anticipate where they are going to be like I do on US highways, but I do not know the roads like I do at home. It is best to assume that you should slow down to speed limit when you approach those towns along the HWY; the ones the busses always stop at to pick up the locals. They really don't like you speeding through there. I have noticed they are in those towns waiting for you to speed or just outside them ove a hill, as you leave and speed up. Of course, like in the US, traveling next to a car that is going sligtly faster than you works well, and obviously next to a fast truck works best.

Actually they are looking for wanted people, checking to see that those driving vehicles have a drivers license...perhaps they are checking for insurance...but most of all...a great opportunity to shake someone down who doesn't have their shit in order.

The prices are still $84 an hour ($94 if you came in a taxi claiming commission). I thought the quality was good, mostly Colombianas with big fake tits. I went to Golden Time a little over a week ago. It was closed down with a lock and chain on the door.

Later that day I was near the Veneto and a taxi driver offered to take me there. When I told him it was closed he said that immigration probably got them.

I had a decent lay at Golden Time this trip. The quality of ladies is certainly down but my experience was better than Getmovinyou's.

I never heard of the drink combo El Toro mentions but the rest of the description is accurate, that might have been a temporary experimentation with their business model.

I stopped in on two different nights. The first night I was quoted $90, but I was disappointed with the selection and another guy chose the one I was considering, so I walked out.

On the second night the guy tried to quote me $120 but agreed to the $90 when I argued with him about it. The lineup was similar and I picked the curvy older lady I considered the first night. She was fun, but relative to my other ladies on the trip she was less attractive.
