Scooby,

Thanks for the Guide. It was very helpful and clear. I will definitely use it whenever I make my first trip to Rio.

Can I ask a stupid question? "put everything in there and change into a robe + slippers provided" I put "everything" in the locker? money also? also, how big is this robe? I'm more "Super Big Gulp" then "Spinner" bodytype.

By Catocony on Monday, September 19, 2005 - 08:36 pm:  Edit

Bluelight,

No money changes hands inside a terma. You pay when you leave. Everything - drinks, food, girls - is charged to your locker key. No tipping, no negotiations. Aside from lube/toys/condoms, cell phone, maybe a camera, that's all you need.

By bluelight on Monday, September 19, 2005 - 09:01 pm:  Edit

So I leave my money/visa in a locker? Is there a lock? What about underwear? And how big are these "robes" I remember the robes in Japan's bath houses, they didn't exactly fit. It was more comical then anything else. I still went, but they asked me not to come back without my own robe.

By Hunterman on Tuesday, September 20, 2005 - 12:19 am:  Edit

Yes, there's a lock, you have the key on an elastic band you wear (which you give to the garota when she goes to arrange the room, but she's not gong to go to your locker).

Underwear is optional. I don't wear it because I'm not shy, and it gets in the way of the fun you can have in the boite. Others prefer to keep their underwear on.

I'm not sure about the robe sizes, but I've seen large men in robes that seemed to work for them.

Let me add a few things about these Termas. First, the best thing for many guys is the girl cannot say no to a guy. When she works at a terma, she must have sex with any guy that want to have sex with her. Terma girls can fuck as many a ten guys a day if you include guys she does when not working. The normal range is 5+ a day. I always feel like prey in termas because I'm the one with no cloths on and the girl has cloths on (not much!) and the establishment behind her. This is good for newbies to Rio and horrible for good looking guys who speak some Port. Typical salaries in Rio are less than 2500 REALS. They are more like 1,000 REALS, with 80% of the population making around 500 REALS a month.

Termas are like sex shops. They are very impersonal, wham bam thank you Jhon and move on. Trying to have any sort of off hours thing with a Terma girl in my opinion is crazy.

She works as you say six days a week; has sex with all types of guys (black, Brazilian, huge member guys, and every type) maybe 50 guys a week! If shes worked a few years, you can be talkng about a girl that has had sex with over 5,000 guys!

Typical girls in Help and shades of grey have longer term stays with guys. typically they sleep with one guy a day, sometimes one guy a week and sometimes even less with yearly totals ranging less than 500 guys a year.

Terma girls are hard core, the hardest core yu can get in Rio outside of the Villa or the streets. Everyone thinks it's paradise, but only if you want a good fuck.

If you want anything more than sex, like company for dinner, a girl to dance with at any number of cool clubs in Rio, a gil to hang with at the beach, then terma girls are not the way to go.

About theft too, it is my experience these girls do not steal in general, with few exceptions.

I've never herd of anyone getting ripped off in a tema outside of Cent and the assholes that run the place. FUNNY THING is the girls arn't even that hot!

By Cortogringo on Tuesday, September 20, 2005 - 09:12 am:  Edit

Roblaw,
Damn, you make it sound like it is only the way you say. I have had a different experience. I have met girls in termas that were working for the first time and it was there first day; granted there are hardcore girls in every terma, but not every girl in a terma is hardcore. I believe that the ratio of hardcore girls is higher in Help than in the termas, but I am certainly no expert on Help. I really believe that both the girls in termas and the girls in Help are there to work and are not looking for love, but you must be different to have those Help girls fall in love with you. Oh, it has been my good fortune, I guess given what you say, to have had very good times with terma girls at dinner, the movies and hanging out at the beach.

Hey LAguy,

We have definitely found our new Turk555!

Roblaw,

You are so full of shit it is stunning. Absolutely mindboggling!

First, the best thing for many guys is the girl cannot say no to a guy. When she works at a terma, she must have sex with any guy that want to have sex with her.

Wrong, wrong, wrong. They can say no to guys they don't want to have sex with, and many do. The stars blow off guys they don't find attractive. Others avoid guys they find abusive. The manager of one termas told me he encourages the girls to be nice to guys who are not attractive, who are overweight, etc., but will not require them to go with any particular client and will not fine them for not having sex with a particular client.

Terma girls can fuck as many a ten guys a day if you include guys she does when not working. The normal range is 5+ a day.

Actually, most termas girls are happy if they have two clients in a day; many have only one, and there are days where they have none. The stars are heading to the cabines constantly, but even they aren't hitting the 10 mark. Think about it. Most work about an 8 hour shift (some more, some less). They could not possibly manage 8 45-minute sessions in that time, given that they have to spend time with the customers beforehand, shower before and after, do their hair, etc. I'm pretty good friends with one of the 4X4 stars. She tells me she has never done more than 5 programs in a day.

I always feel like prey in termas because I'm the one with no cloths on and the girl has cloths on (not much!)

So you're the guy everyone has been talking about, running around w/o clothes in the termas! You're supposed to wear a robe, dildo. And last I noticed, the robes cover more of one's body than the garotas' outfits (unless you're obscenely obese).

This is good for newbies to Rio and horrible for good looking guys who speak some Port.

Let me guess...you fall into the latter category.

Typical salaries in Rio are less than 2500 REALS. They are more like 1,000 REALS, with 80% of the population making around 500 REALS a month.

I haven't a clue what you're rambling on about here. I'm not going to bother correcting your misinformation about salaries in Rio, but I will note that the word is reais, not real, and IT IS NOT CAPITALIZED.

Termas are like sex shops. They are very impersonal, wham bam thank you Jhon and move on. Trying to have any sort of off hours thing with a Terma girl in my opinion is crazy.

Actually, termas are sex shops. So what? Impersonal? Most guys I know like termas precisely because you can spend lots of time getting to know the girls. You can drink and talk, party, watch them dance, dance with them, etc. As to spending time with termas garotas outside, it happens all the time. There are lots of CH guys who hook up with termas girls after-hours, on weekends, etc. I have had a regular from one termas who spent most weekends with me when I was living in Rio. I've taken trips to Buzios, Parati, and other places with termas girls. So maybe it's not quite as rare a thing as you say.

She works as you say six days a week; has sex with all types of guys (black, Brazilian, huge member guys, and every type) maybe 50 guys a week!

Oh, no! They've had sex with black guys!? Well, I guess I'll never have sex with a termas girl again! Heavens!

If shes worked a few years, you can be talkng about a girl that has had sex with over 5,000 guys!

You really seem to be hung up with the numbers thing. Dude, they are all garotas de programa. They fuck guys for a living. What's the difference between 500 and 5000 (besides 4500)?

Terma girls are hard core, the hardest core yu can get in Rio outside of the Villa or the streets. Everyone thinks it's paradise, but only if you want a good fuck.

You truly are clueless. But you are correct in noting that termas are a good place to go if you want a good fuck. That's mainly what I'm looking for when I go to one. And-remember-it's termas with an "s."

If you want anything more than sex, like company for dinner, a girl to dance with at any number of cool clubs in Rio, a gil to hang with at the beach, then terma girls are not the way to go.

Well, to each his own, but I've found termas girls to be, on average, better educated than the girls I've known from Help. I've had dinner with quite a few termas girls who were university students. At Help I run into more garotas who've dropped out after completing the primeiro grau at age 14. But I've found intelligent, likable garotas who are fun to spend time with in Help, at the termas, and everywhere in-between. I just don't understand why you feel compelled to make categorical statements about everything. You're either a troll or you're dull. Which is it? Talvez os dois?

About theft too, it is my experience these girls do not steal in general, with few exceptions.

Huh? Which girls? Some steal and some don't. But you're right, they don't steal in general; they steal in specific. Specifically, they steal money, cameras, cd players...

I've never herd of anyone getting ripped off in a tema outside of Cent and the assholes that run the place.

Can somebody parse this sentence for me? I'm beginning to wonder whether Roblaw speaks English. And it appears his meager Portuguese skills are declining within this very post: now the word "termas" has lost two letters!

Nossa!

Too funny bw! He only made is first trip last year. Possibly the only member on this board to say Centauras girls aren't even hot. Ok....leave them to me. I love Help but the ratio of hot girls vs Centauras.....are you blind? I always meet the termas girls on thier off time and it's a blast. Also nothing beats spending a evening shooting the breeze with other mongers in a termas. RB......how many 18 and 19 yr old girls are in termas?? I've found plenty and usually the problem is that they don't have enough experience vs the 20-25 yr olds but they are HOT! I love the termas and Help!! Don't listen to rb unless you want to miss the best concept on earth for a monger!!

By soccer on Tuesday, September 20, 2005 - 10:04 am:  Edit

As BD says, Roblaw's grammar and spelling needs plenty of work. He has done no primary research, and this board is primarily about doing one's research in the field. It appears, he has read some threads and reports, but this board much prefers original research -- not a rehashing of secondary sources. Indeed he should cite his sources and include a bibliography next time. I give this school boy's report a D+.

By Bluestraveller on Tuesday, September 20, 2005 - 10:11 am:  Edit

Roblaw,

You are so wrong about the termas. Let me count the ways.

1. The termas have standards. Termas fire girls all the time for fighting, doing drugs, lying to customers. Where do you think all these girls go once they no longer can work in the termas? They go to Help.

2. Who said the saying "I don't pay women to have sex with me, I pay them to leave." That's one thing that I like about termas is that when I am done, I just get up and leave. I may be different since I live in Rio (I am sure that my Portuguese is not up to RL's standards), but I honestly prefer that a bunch of girls don't know where I live.

3. Luxury. I have a very nice place in Rio, but it is made for living, not sex. I love the Sultan Suite in 4x4, and the big suite at Solarium is pretty nice also. I don't have a jaccuzzi in my apartment. Nor do I have room service.

4. But everyone is different, and I am sure that many guys have found some cool women at Help. And it is important to respect everyone's opinion. The problem with you is that your "jeito" is so "chato" that I find that it is close to impossible to respect your opinion.

I think I'm going to like these Termas.

By Bwana_dik on Tuesday, September 20, 2005 - 12:14 pm:  Edit

What's not to like! I'm beginning to think the Roblaw actually loves termas and says this nonsense in a feeble attempt to thin the crowds of mongers. It must be something like that, because no is as full of shit about termas as ghis post above would suggest.

By Gcl on Tuesday, September 20, 2005 - 04:57 pm:  Edit

I dont know much, but am in a talkative mood....

I have been told that 90% of Brazilians make under R$3,000 a month. Roblaw may be close to correct there. By those standards most average to good Terma girls are wealthy by Brazilian standards.

I know a lot of terma girls, and have known terma girls for years. Occasionally a superstar will do 10 guys in a night, but that is like the night they talk about the rest of their lives. I know two girls who did this, and they only had it happen once.

Bwana is of course, right on--many girls only do a few guys a week, others 1 or 2 a night. Normal stars in Termas do 3 or maybe 4 night. It is a sex shop nonetheless.

And it is sort of offensive that Roblaw would have a problem with Terma girls doing black guys. However, I hear that many girls in Termas do Hemp. Nothing could be more vile in my opinion.

My conclusion: Roblaw is in fact Turk555.

By Hemp on Tuesday, September 20, 2005 - 05:12 pm:  Edit

GCL - thank you very much for the compliment and yes I have did maybe 1 or 2 Garotas total in all the Termas??? Talk about vile, pulling your robe up and showing your bare ass in Luomo while you are bent over was the most vile thing I have ever seen in my life and I do have witnesses. - Your friend Hemp.

By Bwana_dik on Tuesday, September 20, 2005 - 05:40 pm:  Edit

Next thing you know, MitchC will weigh in with a thesis!

GCL is, of course, correct in that about 90% of Brasilians make under $3000/month. Brasil has the second most unequal income/wealth distribution in the world (behind only Sierra Leone). There are a handful of wealthy people in Brasil who are fantastically well off in comparison to the average Brasilian, and the average Brasilian is quite poor compared to the average American. The minimum salary is $300/month.

But what RL said is that 80% make under $500/month. Salaries are low in Brasil, but not that low. I get the sense that Turk-I mean Roblaw-overhears someone talking BS and takes it as fact. That's the generous interpretation. He may just be making up 80% of what he says.

I obviously agree that RL stepped in it on the "Black guy" thing. But what is troubling, as GCL notes, is that Hemp has been doing MANY termas girls. Why do you think I've never sessioned with Bia??? Now the first question I ask in my standard interview, even before the BBBJ question, is "have you ever sessioned with Hemp?"

And I am reaching the same conclusion: Roblaw is Turk555. I'd heard a rumor that his beloved Christiane was now seeing a 6'5" ex-Navy SEAL who travels with the hip-hop crowd (what's his name?), so I knew Turk555 would eventually rejoin our community.

By Catocony on Tuesday, September 20, 2005 - 05:46 pm:  Edit

Roblaw was the dude showing everyone his California driver's licence with his ZIP code in 90210. What a goofy fucker.

The only girls I try and avoid in termas are the ones who have fucked DonGringo. That's just good policy.

By Laguy on Tuesday, September 20, 2005 - 06:59 pm:  Edit

Since Turk555 is dead I strongly suspect Roblaw is not Turk555. Rather, it would appear he is Turk555's maniacal identical twin. Hopefully despite this shortcoming, he will soon bring some good bukakke material to the table for us to sample.

By Roblaw on Tuesday, September 20, 2005 - 07:17 pm:  Edit

Not sure why you guys like telling all the lies but you must have a reason.

1. Yes It is true that the minimum wage in Brazil is 280 a month, the employer has to pay taxes, typically a small amout for luch and transportatio and 80% of all Brazilians make less than 500. I can send you the site if you want.

2. So you guys want to continue to TELL YOUR LIES TO NEW GUYS!

3. If you believe anything a Terma girl or Help girl tells you you are a fool! --- Interview, interview and alomst every story breaks down!

4. Some girls have standards -- amazing right -- of course it is in a Terma because unless the guy is drunk off his ass, if she says no, she's fired. It has to do with the reputation of the Terma. Think - - - would a guy go back if she said no to him! . . . IDIOTS!

5. 3000 a month is a darn fortune in Rio! You need skills, education, speak a few languages and then you dont make 3000 a month!

6. Every girl said the same thing about the Terma. "why should I fuck five guys a night for 350, when I can fuck one for the same price?" Now you tell me a girl works in a Terma for the 100 reals she gets out of the 200 you pay the club. Sounds right to me!

7. I'm not proof reading me shit here. This is not a contest. And by the way I've been published a few times but don't have the time and learned anyone who corrects spelling and gramer is a dumb bitch . . . get balls and grow up! Stop acting like a bitch you're fucking Soccur!

Now I'm more motivated thenever!

P.S.

It's you so called Pros living in Rio, making money off the tourists, that have turned Rio. I'm sure of it now!

Instead of adding you think the girls in the Terma are amatures, there's a reason the price doesn't change from girl to girl, and you can walk out with a 700+ bill for two girls, one hour in a suite.

If you guys tell the truth . . . like you don;t need an escort to a stupid terma the whole sceen will get better.

Don't you know that by telling all these lies, it is you that have ruined the place you live!

Thanks Bwana and BL for calling RL on this crap. RL spent several paragraphs trying to justify his overpaying GDPs in a separate thread. I noted politely that in my experience I have paid substantially less than he has for top-quality, and he berates me and others with his vast knowledge of Rio. Now I've only been there 8 times, so I'm not the "expert" he is, but that doesn't invalidate my experience.

I think Roblaw is a fictional character created to agitate the board.

What's more, I think it's one of the so called "veterans," and I suspect he thinks this is great sport and extremely hilarious.

Could be wrong.

Right now, if Roblaw said that the sky was blue he'd get attacked for it.

But fictional or not, I have to agree with him on one point. Focusing on typos and minor grammatical errors is extremely lame.

The guy says plenty to set himself up for attack.
Why in all fuck do any of you care about a transposition error, a missing letter, etc.

Pointing out the missing "s" in termas has merit. But obvious typos??? I don't see any of the veterans getting hammered for their typos.

Badseed, one of the best writers on the board who has gone mysteriously silent lately, is notorious for multiple typos and nobody has a problem with it.

But if it's a guy you don't like, one transposition error brings down hellfire. Stupid.

The point of this board is content....information.

If his information is incorrect, say so.
If he's being too catagorical and making sweeping generalizations, go ahead and hammer him.

But if the best you can do is try to discredit him by pointing out a typo.....YOU'RE FUCKING LAME!!!!

By Ejack1 on Wednesday, September 21, 2005 - 07:12 am:  Edit

In case there's any confusion, the previous post was not aimed at Bwana.

More than anyone else it was aimed at one specific, extreme status seeking member who seems to be in non-stop attack mode. I'm way past being sick of it.

It seems some people never outgrow their tendencies to try to build themselves up by tearing other people down.

I'll continue to bite my tongue and hold back his name for now, but I've about chewed through.
My tolerance has about reached it's end.

By Bwana_dik on Wednesday, September 21, 2005 - 07:14 am:  Edit

Looking back over some of RL's old posts I noticed that he was posting precisely the same BS in March (after which he was roundly ragged on, and eventually offered an apology).

But I also noticed how prescient our Laguy was: on March 26th Laguy had this to say-

"If Turk5555 could be real (and he was) there is always a chance Roblaw is too. Maybe GCL finally had his bukkake with Christianne (or whatever her name was), Turk5555 found out and became so unsettled he gave up his monogamy vow, and in his unsettled insane state reappeared as Roblaw. Stranger things have happened."

Thank you Bwana dik for noticing. But there is not only that. Now with its recent introduction by Gillette, I feel I am really on a roll. I don't know how I do it, but I am very grateful to having been so blessed with this power of pre-cognition.

By Gcl on Thursday, September 22, 2005 - 04:58 am:  Edit

Well heck, I never HERD of such a thing! If the spelling errors are done on purpose and written to develop the character's personality...then I agree. We should not critique. However, if the writer is making errors while writing in character, then I think we should point it out. For example, if John Steinbeck novels were full of errors, would we be prohibited from making note of it? The only time he had 'errors' was when he was quoting dialogue.

BTW, I am getting nervous that I might misspell something.

Laguy and GCL,

I don't know, and likely never will, whether RL is serious or somebody's idea of humor. I'm not in the loop. But that's not really the issue.

What I do know is that the level of discourse on this site is dropping rapidly. And it's pissing me off.

Ridiculing spelling errors is the intellectual equivalent of name calling......it contributes nothing and only breeds hostility.

Hostility discourages posting.

Between the infighting, the territoriality and status seeking, the brutal attacks on newbies, and the chit-chat soap opera that is Jaguar, real info is getting squeezed out.

The value of this board is dropping.

I repeat.....it's pissing me off.

Am I being clear enough now?

I have to agree with Ejack1 to some extent!

Although I don't believe it's nothing wrong with a little humor on the board OR for a member to express his opinions on a topic....but everything has its limits!

And some of these topics are being pushed to the limit and its becoming a distraction for those who are either seeking info or trying to put out info.

I think we are forgetting the overall purpose of this board! Let's keep it real fellows!

This reminds me of a conversation I had with a fellow hombre...He mentioned and I agreed that, generally speaking, there isn't a whole lot to add to the Rio board that hasn't been written.

IMHO, there is alot of comaradarie between hombres that frequent Brazil. Combining the two factors, I think what ejack is observing is the evolution of this board.

For better of worse, you make the choice whether you think is cool and sign up for another year, or just say Tchau to CH.

I still enjoy the resourcefulness of CH.

I'd like to thank Bwana and fellow hombres for your proactiveness in revising the already awesome Guide. Newbies and guys that have gone to Rio, like myself, will definitely find the newer Guide very helpful and a great point of reference.

The comaraderie with my fellow mongers is part of the enjoyment I get when going to Rio. Obviously, my primary reasons for going are the women and the warm weather (I only go between Nov. and April), but there's a hell of a decent group of guys down there to hang out with while mongering.
