My last two voyages to the PI were Pasay (Manila) and Cebu, both with my Syota (girlfriend) but it’s time to play and Angeles City is still one of the best options a guy can exercise IMO. Even though opinions vary and there’s a fair amount of discussion that AC has lost its luster, I doubt I will ever stop visiting this ever evolving shit hole.

It’s as hot as it gets this time of year so knowing that I decided to slide in before typhoon season which begins in mid May. Arrived on Cathay Pacific with a two hour layover in Hong Kong for a total travel time at eighteen hours not including an additional three hours with ground transportation from Manila to Angeles. Not much to share about the flight. Fares have risen ($975 USD RT) and CP’s new ergonomic seats are as firm as you’ll find and not at all to my liking. Since there are few flight/hotel packages for Angeles compared to Manila, Cebu, Borocay Island and more common destinations, the costs are even higher with comparable lodgings.

I usually stay at Wild Orchid (CH Link) however this trip I booked with Pacific Breeze (CH Link) reserving the Grand Jacuzzi Suite at $85.00 USD per night. I wasn’t inclined to go with the Pool View Grand Jacuzzi at the same price as I felt noise from late night pool activities could be disturbing when rest is needed. A few comments regarding PB though I’ve been here only a couple of days. Even though PB has been around only a few years, the facilities are in need of repair due to poor construction and lack of maintenance. The pool water is murky and highly chlorinated plus the small pebbles on the underwater pool seats are half gone. The ceiling in my suite is falling apart with numerous large cracks/panel separations, doors and closets are in pretty sad shape and it needs new curtains and bed spreads. Water pressure is lacking and one would think for these prices a coffee maker and hair dryer would be included but that’s not the case. Internet is provided but very slow. Something which is trivial but surprised me is they don’t even provide the small bottles of complimentary shampoo like every other hotel on the planet. Food is decent by AC standards with modest pricing. All of these may be minor concerns but they reflect a lack of value which is one of the smaller reasons Members at CH peruse TR’s. Overall disappointing and don’t see myself booking here in the future.

Arrived Thursday around 5:00 pm but I didn’t get a wink of sleep on the airplane so I was worn out. Did manage to unpack and walk to Kokomos for a bite to eat and hooked up with two unemployed dancers who had turned to freelancing. Even though one was slim and cute I deferred and her LT offer for $1,200 PHP. Just too tired after 48 hours without sleep. It would have been a great night for girl shopping as Fields was as empty as I can ever remember with one trip over the Christmas holidays being the only exception many years past.

Woke up early Friday and headed to SM Mall. My main reason was to find a pair of leather sandals but girl shopping as well. The Mall had just kicked off a 3 Day Sales event and it was packed. Even so, no sandals to be found but I did meet a clerk giving me the “come hither look” in a shoe store. About twenty-one and pretty hot so I bagged her number and will definitely follow up on that possibility as civvies are usually a good value.

On the walk back around 1:00 pm I checked out Ponytail’s (CH Link). About six on stage and six more sitting in booths around the room. None doable so I tried Cherry Bar (CH Link), formerly Jerry’s Cherry Bar. Wasn’t surprised it’s still for sale as it was ten years back when I discussed buying it with him. Back then he wanted $80,000 USD. Didn’t chat with him this time but I doubt the price is much higher now. He’s a crusty ole fart who berates his employees at the slightest of his perceived irregularities and most of his employees more than dislike him but with a high churn of FOB’s willing to accept $150 PHP a day, why would he care?

There were about fifteen dancers and as is my custom, I centered on a cutie with the Samar facial qualities. Many guys aren’t drawn to their looks, high cheek bones, sometimes dark skinned and many with pug noses but I’m not one of them. In a way I admire their primal features and qualities to a degree but some things are for sure with a Samar Girl. Samar has few even small cities. Hence these girls are truly provincial, very sweet, simple, kind and super respectful.

Etyhel arrived at Cherry Bar seven months back (her only travel outside of Samar) and will be going back to the province in a couple of weeks, she feels for good (time will tell) as she wants to attend college. She turned nineteen last January, stated she rarely bar fine’s (is there a bar girl that says different) and is on the shy side of the emotional spectrum.

After one drink she hesitantly agreed to come for LT after I mentioned swimming was on the agenda. If there’s one thing the girls here like as much as texting, it’s surely swimming in the pool! Paid the $1,500 PHP, took a trike to the Kokomo’s for refreshments and some additional bonding time before heading back to the hotel. She shed some of her shyness after awhile and is just as I expected, a real sweetheart. We went swimming then up to the room for the remainder of the evening. Now I shopped early and even though she isn’t the hottest girl in the circuit, she’s slim and cute and I’m confident she would have had a number of customers bidding for her attention later in the evening. Since I expect Koreans, Malasians, Brits and Aussies are coming in for the weekend, making an early pick will usually work in your favor! For nineteen she’s above average in the sack and will be bringing two of her dancers over on their day off tomorrow for an afternoon of pool time fun and frolics.

Even though most mongers say Pattaya is better, I find myself dreaming of returning to the dusty Fields Avenue! Looking forward to reading more about your trip.

I'm glad to know you flew Cathay Pacific. It was for me, the greatest airline I have ever flown on. It rates up there with Korean Airlines. American airline companies should be embarrassed or at least take lessons in customer service and satisfaction from SEA airlines.

Despite the jacuzzi additions, I still think paying $85 per night for a hotel room in AC is way too much, especially for a Third World country like the Philippines. They know how to gauge the tourists. America Hotel and Sunset Garden Inn, although somewhat average, are still nevertheless comfortable and decent.

Yes, your lady is skinny, maybe a little too skinny for my tastes. But believe it or not, there are some rather cute heavy-set women who work in some of the bars in the side streets just off of Fields Avenue. Just ask "I Am Sancho." They are more my cup of tea, so to speak.

I will be leaving for the Philippines in three days, but will not be anywhere near AC. I'm returning back to Southern Leyte and will spend time with only one (yes one) girl who will no doubt be watching my every move like a hawk. (It must be love!) But I will be thinking of AC throughout my time in the Philippines.

Did you by any chance happen to visit a bar called Crystal Palace? If there is one thing that sticks in my mind, it's the fact that I saw so many pretty girls in that one bar. Undoubtedly the most beautiful Filipino girls in there that I have ever set eyes on. I was with a date at the time, but watched how after the choreographed dancing, they they were all taken, or reserved ahead of time by the Koreans and Russians.

TF - I'm not really here to fuel the debate on Angeles vs Pattaya. I've spent a fair amount of time in both cities and they're unique in their own ways. Met two mongers while swimming at the Wild Orchid yesterday. One from Hong Kong, the other from Pattaya, both Americans. The guy from Pattaya has lived there over twenty years. He's been visiting AC for the past ten years. He stated even though in Pattaya he's surrounded by some of the most beautiful women in the world, he prefers the women in AC. His reasoning was the same as mine, the gals in Angeles love to have FUN and many are just as attractive. Haven't been to LOS in a couple of years but from what I've read here and on other boards, AC is still cheaper when it come to BF's. Regarding Freelancers in AC, I've been coming her since Christ was a Corporal. I can't remember a visit where Freelancers weren't available to some degree or another.

I did spend a few minutes at Crystal Palace (CH Link) last night. Talent level was great, lots of Binini's I would rate at 8's - 9's but regardless, I'm comfortable in the smaller venues and have never had a problem finding doable gals at half the price. One can make the exrta effort and spend a higher price for the rare 10's but I've found, in bed they're likely 3s - 5's.

Popcorn, thanks for the report and your take on the AC/Pattaya ongoing discussion. i live in Bangkok now and take a trip to Pattaya... well anytime i want to! i also make it out to AC at least 3 times a year. i prefer Thailand, but that's just me... maybe it's because i live here. i can learn more of the ins and outs of the place and get to know the girls in a different way. ahh. either way, the hunting is good at both places!

I love AC, but also love Pattaya. Just this year alone I have been to AC twice and to Pattaya once. AC continues to be shithole, but I would say - at least from my experience - the ratio of top notch sweet girlfriend types in AC way out number those in Pattaya. But then again, Pattaya is just a fun place to go to. Even without mongering I could hang out some time in Pattaya, but could not say the same about AC (What else is there to do other than mongering?)

While most of the girls in AC are not exactly brain surgeons, at least they do speak more English than Thai girls......

In general Thai girls are more beautiful than Filipina's, but I take quality GFE with a girl like the one in this post over a '10' Thai girl that is just going through the motions any day.

Prices are certainly much lower than in Pattaya, even so there are numerous exceptions to this as well (pulled a real cutie from Lucifer for 1000 Baht LT).

So, from an overall fun perspective Pattaya is the way to go....but even so I know I will get some criticism from some board members, I have flown in a girl from AC to Pattaya for several days on a previous trip (this girl also went to Singapore with me). What a sweetheart....she speaks excellent English and cost wise her travel costs versus the pricing system in Pattaya came out to be the same. Ok, she is DIA girl, so no bar fine costs :-)

What I love the best about AC is the EWR, i.e. fixed price per bar for each girl plus tip. When I was in Pattaya, many of the strip club girls would quote upwards to 3000 baht on top of the Bar Fine. You are looking at $100USD+.....In AC, $40 is more the average and the girls certainly are more GF.

So I like both - for differing reason's.

Let's not forget the other taboo point that can set off an entire chain of negative replies - Bareback in AC is still pretty much the norm. So if that is your thing (we are all adults that can make our OWN choices and decisions), AC's options related to this far outweigh Pattaya.

Now I have also discovered Subic Bay. I like the quiet town feeling and the girls are even sweeter - Tip to AC travelers that are curious to go to Subic, do not bring a girl from AC - find one in Subic!!!

I think my next trip will take have me split my time evenly in AC & Subic.

Couldn't agree more, Thai's for the most part come off with their typical procedural logic. Find Farang, Suck/Fuck, Take Money. They generally don't expand beyond that envelope nor do they care to do so. Some of it is the language barrier but much of it is there culture and how they roll. I would submit if you speak the language you would get deeper into the fun bag with a number of Thai BF's.

Again, not really looking to rekindle the AC vs Pattaya debate, that will go on forever! My suggestion, visit both a few times and decide for yourself. Who cares what others think? This TR is about Angeles which I'll expand on my next stop in Subic.
