Rio is fairly upscale, depending on the neighborhood of course. The time really does fly when you're on the ground there. Just remember, Rio has some of the finest beaches in the world, the food and drink is top notch, and there are plenty of things to do when you're not fucking.
Also, keep in mind, in termas, I would say the average run for me, per visit, is about 4 hours. So, if you hit a terma every day, plus a few leisurely meals, some quality beach/pool time, general walking around, and then hitting a club for night action, there is not a lot of down time. You won't be bored from the time you land until you finish crying on your drive back to the airport.
