And as far as your hypothetical chica working at the auto factories or maquinarias goes, who is it in this country that is always going balistic about the "corporate exploitation" along the border? Better the poor Mexicans go back to the farm and starve or else sneak across the border and overload our relief organizations. I totally agree with your points that these chicas are making decisions in their lives that may be somewhat flawed by our standards but probably not by their own. You just need to drop your own sophmoric blinders on political reality as others perhaps should drop their notions of what is morally correct for these people. Frankly, I suspect that the average chica working in the Zona doesn't give a hoot one way or another what any of us think and would laugh at all of our attempts to dissect her motivations. Just bring lots of money.
