TSM was hacked recently. The invader got some reports and e-mail addresses and replicated these to a smut board. Sounds like no real damage was done.

Since we have a few newbies here and I am always looking for sinister ideas, I thought I would start a discussion on protecting your identity.

1. Create an e-mail identity for your enthusiast activities that effectively masks who you are. Don't mix this id with your real world activities.

2. I believe there is protection in posting through a large ISP, such as AOL or MSN. I believe this masks your IP. Anybody understand this better than I ?

3. Be a little careful about the specifics in your posts. Giving exact dates and times may identify you when you don't want to be. I am probably not as careful with this as I should be, but again I am not married or noviaized.

4. Other thoughts ?
