I believe you are thinking of the Dia de Los Reyes Magos (Day of the Three Kings), when the Three Kings/Wise Men delivered gifts to the baby jesus, according to traditional christian mythology. In Mexico, instead of having Santa Claus bring gifts on christmas, the three kings bring gifts to the kids on January 4.
