Capn,

Don't know about your stomach acid theory but I do know a medication that worked miracles for me. A couple of years ago I was about 900 miles down in Baja and got incredibly ill after eating at a fish taco stand. After 4 days and not getting any better a friend gave me 3 tablets of trimetoprima con sulfametoxazol, each tablet contained 80 mg and 400 mg respectively of each chemical. 1 tablet every 12 hours, in less than 2 days I was completely cured. I carry the cover of the box in my wallet now, just in case I need more.

Anybody out there that can explain to me what these medications are?
