After spending a few hours at the new TJ Lord Black on the south end of Revolucion last Wednesday night, I didn't really feel up to hauling my ass over to the zona. Since I was staying at the Villa Zaragoza, I decided to check out current conditions at Mexico Lindo - first visit in a long time. For those who don't know the history, ML's glory days preceeded the 90's gringo makeover of the zona. ML catered to moneyed Mexicans and norteamericanos who wanted high quality, English speaking, well dressed chicas in a more sophisticated atmosphere than the raw and rowdy bars and dancehalls of the zona. But nowadays, with the availability of world class babes in the zona at popular prices, ML has been operating in deep obscurity. I entered well after midnight and found that it still retains a taste of its former glory - has the ambience of an intimate neighborhood pub and restaurant - low level jukebox music - quiet and sophisticated (that is compared to AB). About 15 chicas dominated the small landscape - all seated at the bar or at tables. Only a few customers for them to prey on. I sat at the bar and of course all the chicas were eyeing me and wanting my attention. They ran the whole range from skanks to plain, and all the way up to elegant attractive older mujeres (late 20's to mid 30's) wearing cocktail gowns - generally visions of latina retro glamour along with office girl types - think of Mexican accented Lauren Bacall in the Bogart movies, or Kim Cattrall on "Sex in the City" (style and presentation that is, not level of attractiveness). These chicas know how to hold and draw on a cigarette. However, the chica who caught my eye was outside of this norm...more of an AB type - a younger pretty face chica who was sitting and drinking with another customer (can't remember the name - started with an F and she's from Hermosillo and likes Heavy Metal). She was wearing a sheer black dress that revealed considerable curves along with a decent amount of extra flesh that would cause many to lose interest - but I prioritize face and attitude. She detected my interest and blew-off her other customer and came over to sit next to me. I bought her some drinks ($6) and we had a great time for 90 minutes or so....my Spanish was, as Marv Albert would say, ON FIRE, after chatting with the Lord Black girls all night. The talk eventually got very sexy with pornographic discussion of our sexual fantasies...verbal foreplay! Then she walked back to my VZ hotel room with me and we acted a few of them out for about an hour($80). She was a party girl looking for a toot and and a toke - in bed she was both affectionate and nasty - and definitely looking to enjoy herself as much as I was. Any chica worth doing at ML will ask for $100 for sex, but that will be an extended session - usually an hour. On slow nights, which most nights are, expect the price to be negotiable. They use the Motel Leon across Calle 7 from the bar and I believe that joint extorts something like $20-30 for the short term - but if its an hour session, that isn't much more than you'll pay for an hour at the zona hotels. Sorry not to have more precise details here - that is because I used my own overnight room at the VZ. BTW, in my experience ML is a slow build with midnight being about the prime hour to visit. Earlier than 10:00, you will find few if any chicas. They used to have live bands in the back room on weekends - don't know if that is still happening.
