i've been there with Tomas, and it was worth the visit. It's nice inside, a couple very attractive girls (and i've heard selection has improved) - i probably would have asked one about her hotel availability but it was late and *someone* wanted to get back to the zona prices could be high though, might not find a goer for under $60, maybe even $70. Hotel looks nice. The other La Mesa bars (La Cueva for one) are more Chavelas like, almost no gringos - I know Tomas has done very well in La Mesa. $10 cab ride.
