Writings from the field

I had a really challenging past week, and learned so much that I am going to write an essay for each topic (slowly), rather than just give the high points. This post will (eventually) consist of three short essays on: 1) El Pueblito (the prison in Tijuana); 2) HIV/AIDS services in Tijuana; and 3) the official city run medical service available to sex workers and stuff about health cards. Each of these is weighing pretty heavily on me right now, so feel free to ask questions but try to be gentle with me because I'm feeling a little shattered and overwhelmed this week.
