Isn't it possible that a gringo would be treated differently than a native if found to be illegally driving without Mexican insurance? What about the long-standing fact/rumor that if you are in an accident and you have no insurance you will go to jail unless you can cover the cost of the damages out of pocket? And if there are serious injuries and you have no insurance, you will go to jail period? Diego implies that that is all a myth. Can anyone else confirm or deny this? Shy Guy
