The dancers are very controlled my the management and dance "in step", they are not allowed to initiate conversations with customers, you must speak to them first. They all have EXACTLY the same outfit, the garder is EXACTLY mid-thigh on their right leg, etc. Happy hour at 7 pm.

Come on, you guys, give the dancers a break. This place is making an effort to have professional showgirls. It desperately needs a little gay choreographer from West Hollywood to teach them how to move together. These girls cannot dance as a team. Drink heavily and enjoy the Harley Davidson T-shirts by the door. My favorite says,

Yeah, many claim they have the hottest chicks here but IMO, this bar doesn't do it for me, the girls are not allowed to mingle with guests unless requested and that is both good and bad. Personally, I don't find the highly choregraphed in-step dance routines that entertaining. It's like watching carbon copies all dressed and doing the same thing, no uniqueness. They among the most professional looking dancers though in AC. If you love Sammy Hager mucic, you'll love this bar! That's about all they play here.

IMNSHO - This place is good for happy hour and thats it. Cheap drinks but not much else. It is a good safe bar (for those not familiar with the term a "safe bar" is a place you can take a girl you have barfined and not worry about a conflict of interest).

This place was the place I really liked. The girls were friendly and not pretentious, and the staff made sure the patrons were well looked after. There was one gal who was drop-dead gorgeous, and thinking to myself "I have no chance with her at all", I got a drink snd she (seeing I was looking at her I suppose) came over and I bought her a drink. I ended up paying the barfines and had her spend 3 days/nights with me, before I had to go back to Manila for business. The Road House was awesome, and so was she, and I wouldn't hesitate to return there on a moment's notice!

Finally, started one evening out here. Enjoyed the 2-for-1 happy hour drinks and the free finger food. Nice looking girls, but the aire of this place tells me the girls are, "All Show and No Go"! RW

After doing some research (and since I was already traveling there) I decided to go to Angeles City in the Philippines in Aug of 2002. On Fields Avenue there is a club called The Roadhouse. This area has many clubs of this type as it is a former US Army base. Even with the base not in use it is still THE spot to go in the Philippines. The Roadhouse is one of the better well known clubs and is run by some Australians I believe.

The overall feel of the place is fun and clean, does not seem as sleazy as many of the other clubs there. Basically I felt safe.

The women were very attractive and the prices were in line, although slightly higher, with those of other clubs in Angeles City. (In general Angeles city is cheaper than Manila). One night I was there they had some sort of "Christmas in August" party. Not sure why but I do know everyone, especially the girls, were enjoying themselves. Some other places I visted the girls did not seem as happy. Apparently speaking with some other customers The Roadhouse is always throwing some sort of party and they try to keep their girls happy. My basic sense was the girls liked being there (I can only imagine how bad some of these places are).

The Roadhouse is a classy joint all the way (right down to matching uniforms for all the girls). The second you step in you are reminded you are here to have fun, not watch your back for some scam artist the entire time (I am always very nervous the first night in a new city). It was almost like an Oasis in a chaotic city.

I stayed in a near by hotel that aloud "visiters". I have a local connection (friend of cousin) and was able to get the local rate, not the much inflated tourist rate, so I don't have any info for what it would cost you for a Hotel.

This is what I paid (averaged for three visits)
Bar Fine 900 Pesos (about $20)
Short Time 1500 Pesos (about $30)
All Night 2500 Pesos (about $50)

Are you sure you're talking about the Road House Bar? This place is owned by an American. This is obvious by the American flag that is drapped across the wall just as you enter the bar and all the Harley Davidson nick-nacks hanging all over the place. This bar is average in appearance compared to many other bars in town. I would rate it 6 on a scale of 1-10 for appearence. In the 10 plus times I've been in this place I've hardly ever seen the girls smile. Check your notes again... BTW - your prices confused me. Where did you pay a 900 pesos barfine? Surely not Road House. Do the ST costs equal 3 visits? I'm assuming the 2500 pesos LT was in Manila? Please explain...

Did Roadhouse change a lot in the past couple years? I swear the Roadhouse I remember from 2001 had a huge circular bar in the middle and was pretty big. It kind of looked the same on this trip, except that it was half the size with a wall running right through that platform bar.

I didn't notice any girls that stood out when I was here, didn't think much of the place.

Epi, BB and I took dates here one night and they had two damned dancers in the bar, just one when we entered. Supposedly all the rest had been barfined. Suuuure... Looking back I think we should have offered to pimp our girls for a 15 minute dance set.

Roadhouse ahhh yes. One of my favorite bars. I think it has changed some for the better in Oct-03. The girls are no longer on such strict orders to only talk with customers if they initiate the conversation. They are somewhat looser in this respect. Also the new uniforms are very good. Some are see thru and some are soo short you can easily see what they have to offer under those mini blouses.

The girls are fantastic and just a fun bunch to be with. Once you know one you know them all and they will treat you very well. One night had seven out with me going bar to bar and had a ball. Another night took five with me dancing at pick-up disco.

The bar is owned my an American Mark Smith. He runs a pretty tight ship here. Happy hour is great and the finger food delicious. Mark also runs the children’s center. If you feel sorry for the kids that bug you for money handouts, then contribute to the center and do not give it to them directly. These street kids may be using the money you give not for food but to buy glue to sniff. Just a suggestion for some who may feel they want to donate somehow.

Mark is very fair about returning a BF. You should not get a hard time here if you have a legit gripe, (non-performer/runner). But like any bar you need to make sure you have an understanding with the girl. If you just BF and hope for the best, it will more than likely be your fault you didn't get what you expected.

The girls do have dance routines to mostly rock and roll music. Not much of that other bar music that is often heard elsewhere. The routines are nice in that in many other bars the girls do a slide and shuffle with very little energy. The exception being if they like a particular song. Usually the slow ones that get them to dance that sexy style where they squat and spread their legs.

Uhmmm, back to Roadhouse! Probably more bell rings happen in this bar than any other. They have a very loyal customer base. These guys often use Roadhouse as the drinking bar and hunt for their potential BF in other bars. With the new style I spoke of before, this is slowly changing to a place guys BF more and more.

As you can see by the length of this post that I like Roadhouse but mileage may very with the next punter who walks in the place.

Great happy hour here that every local knows about. Very friendly girls and superb staff. I like the rock video concept as well. My only complaint is that they have had the same girls working here for a long time and they are getting rice bellies. A couple of new cherry girls in the mix but this place needs new blood.

This bar has the best CR (bathroom)in town. Has an attentant there with almost anything you could need to freshen up. I shaved here one day on my way to a date, the guy even provided me a hot towel.

Been in there 3 times now. All the old info is still spot on. Very well maintianed, awesome CR with an attendant, and girls very regulated. Good place to start off a night. Dancing tends towards the zombie shuffle though. Old comment up the thread about getting corregrapher a good idea. Places plays mostly 70s and 80s hardrock with videos. Seating is nice.

Went barhopping with a cousin of one of the dancers and stopped in twice. Girlie who was GOM last July on their rather nice website was barfined by a fellow board member I have been hanging with. Nice girl.

One place that screamed bad business to me was Roadhouse Bar. Being close to my favorite Angel Which bar, I tried all the bars and really liked Honey Pot and Brown Sugar. Played Billards with the Papasan of Honey Pot and enjoyed the waitress's time - anyway:

I walk in , sit and order my drink - and am immediately accosted by a Mamasan to choose one. "Which one you like?" "The ole waiving of the arm to the whole ensemble of ladies on stage are shown. Typical. No problem. But it seems their tactic here is to annoy you to death until you choose. The ladies on stage then waive at me relentlessly - and continue on and on. It was funny at first, then 3 mins later - it actually made me very uncomfortable. Now, an entire 22 days in AC have proven to be a BUYERS market as there are few customers in most bars most of the time.... but Jesus Christ! I keep telling myself that "she'll go away" - then I tell her I am just looking. Then they do the switch off - and now I am read the usual questions by a dancer wuz ger name, where ya from, where ya stay, why you so quiet? - okay - I want to be left alone for at least 90 seconds so I can adjust. Please do not pounce on me and agitate me to the point of being overly aggressive. I don't want to be jumped on from the ladies with NO TIME TO BE ALONE. After 5 mins of waiving at me and starring at me like I am from another planet - the vibe here went way south, and I asked blountly, "why are you still here, either you go back on stage, or I leave," She then said something about me being quiet and not smiling... Well , I was smiling before I walked into Roadhouse - after 7 mins of being an animal in a cage and being waived at like an animal - I left and I never went back. Maybe some guys give in and buy a LD with this tactic - who knows, I probably would have stayed, but not when all of my attention is being stolen away...

Now, since I am criticizing Roadhouse Bar - let me offer a suggestion by example:

When you walk in Brown Sugar - the ladies all in Unison say "Yeah!," you are asked to order a drink - then you are allowed to SIT WITHOUT IMMEDIATELY BEING ASKED TO BUY A LD - and I bought tons of LD's from many of the bars - believe me!
It is my recommendation that Roadhouse adjusts their tactics and let the customer have some breathing room when they first walk in. I don't want to be pounced and made to feel forced in buying a LD before I take a look around....

last night i happened to walked into Roadhouse and before that, i've only had good reviews of this joint. always good music, happy clientele and girls always trying to please without those silly "buy me drink" games. Guess last night was the exception, when i went in i got this door girl (Wensi) and just later on one of the dancers (Stacey), have to admit that the dancer was gorgeous but at the end she just ignore me when trying to barfine the bitch. what annoyed me the most is the almost P2,000 tap i've had to pay and left the club with just a raging hard on!!! Been there before and have to say now is plain bullshit, honestly i don't think i'll ever go to that bar again. after leaving, i hit a few more bars and ended up at Pony tails and it was rocking!!!
So bottom line, DON'T GO TO ROADHOUSE!!!! ONLY THING YOU ARE GOING TO GET IS TO THROW YOUR MONEY AND LEAVE WITH A HARD ON!!! what a bunch of lowlifes are the ones running that joint!!!
