I pulled 3 girls outa RB1 last week, and had good sessions in each. Little more pro/higher pressure atmosphere and sessions, but good never-the-less.

Yes DM, at least RB-1 is more "farang-friendly" than the RB-2 & RB-3 bars. Pleased that you had a good time. RB-4 is well worth checking out too.

I disagree with you here, to a limited degree, Dave. Rainbow 3 is quite "farang friendly". And, for a relatively small bar, they have a good number of attractive ladies. They have sort of a Japanes atmosphere, in that ladies are often plucked off the stage by having a penlight pointed at them. But, from what I've seen, and I've been in there a fair number of times within the last couple of months, the best looking girls are more than happy to go home with whitey, which, as you pointed out, is not always the case at Rainbow II.

RE: RAINBOW THREE - I get very frustrated with the aggressive male door staff at RB-3. They bark at you like street dogs even though you are NEVER going in their direction, this is bad management and a sure sign of desperation. It's a tiny bar too, so few people bother to pay it a visit. I think you could well be right Mano that some of the BG's are both friendly and reasonably attractive. However, photographic evidence of any RB-3 babes by a keen monger would go a long way in proving your claims. Every guy I talk to says that it is nothing to write home about these days.

IMHO, they all all baht friendly, farang including. RB3 typically has a bunch of average looking girls mulling about (*yawn*), RB2 quality is WAY down from what it used to be, and RB4 is a high volume churn factory (little atmosphere).

RB1 at least has a somewhat cozy layout, a fair amount of diversity when it comes to girls attitudes and personalities, etc. However on the downside, FOBs (cute ones anyway) are FEW and FAR between.

Again what makes a bar "good" for me is largely comprised of three elements 1) some good looking talent 2) jovial/party like atmosphere and 3) comfy seating.

I agree that Rainbow II is way down in terms of the quality of the dancers. They used to have a handful of girls that were outstanding. Over the last, say, 4 months they've really lost alot of talent.

I know this puts me in the minority, but I dislike the new Rainbow IV. Yes, they have a ton of girls. Yes, it's extremely clean, as are all Rainbow bars. But like you said, the churn and burn atmosphere isn't for me. It's nigh unto impossible to go into this place, get a booth and have a couple of drinks while talking to a lady. The music's too loud and, in some ways, it strikes me as more of a brothel than a go-go. Also, annoyingly, there isn't a single seat in the bar that affords you a comfortable view of both stages. They could have learned something from the layout of Dave's old bars on the third floor.

As to Rainbow III, yeah, the door staff is a bit aggressive. The mamasan will often pester you about which girl you want, as well. But, she does it fairly pleasantly. In my mind, it has a good combination right now of not many customers and a fair number of very attractive women...sort of like a smaller, less fun Mercury.

Onto Rainbow I...what can you say? It does get a bit crowded. But, right now there's a strong argument that it has the best lineup in the Plaza.

What I find fascinating about the go-go bars in LOS is that there are almost as many varying opinions as guys have differing tastes. Human nature and social interaction are often extreme variables, especially in Nana Plaza. No two mongers, nor no two BG's are the same. Mano, you are a cool character, you are prepared to sit and observe for longer periods than most guys I know. Your astute observations reflect the amount of time you invest in the BKK bars. IMO if guys spend enough time, money and effort you can discover those diamonds in the rough. I find that some CH mongers appear as though they're on a whistle-stop tour of the bars. It's almost as though they feel they will miss something, or they are on a time limit in each bar. Spending a night in a few top class bars would be way better than visiting ten in a mad dash! I know guys who have relationships with a lot of great Rainbow BG's, because they have put the time and effort in. (You don't get anything for nothing). This is where the resident mongers have a distinct advantage, they have the time and opportunity to seek out those diamonds. It's only natural that most guys go to the larger bars that have a sufficient amount of attractive BG's. However a lot of guys say the same as DM that RB-4 is like a battlefield. RB-4 is extremely cramped and was very poorly designed. None of this helps a monger, so you just have to play hide and seek!

This place was packed with spinners last night. Oh my. Buckeye and I were spoiled for choice. There were easily 5 to 10 girls on the stage I could have barfined. I wound up pulling the trigger on a gumby body type from Udon Thani, with great legs and ass. Wanted to LT, but it turned out to be ST, albeit with two pops. So-so session; not bad, but nothing memorable. 1500 for ST, like I've been paying for all my ST's out of Nana.

So far, RB One has the best lineup I've seen on this trip. Will definitely be returning for some of those spinners.

Murasaki, a lot of guys agree with you that Rainbow 1 has a great line-up and is now on par with Rainbow 4. Some nights this tiny bar does 80+ BF's and that is excellent trade.

Jokerman, forget Fon wait until you see the line-ups in Rainbow 1 + 4 and Angelwitch. THe girls in these bars will blow your mind!

I agree with Murasaki. I think that Rainbow I currently has the best lineup in the Plaza. I think that this has been the case for a good three months or more. While Rainbow IV has its supporters, I am not among them. It just strikes me as too much of a factory. In Rainbow I, on the other hand, I rarely fail to have a good time.

Still fun, but girl borderline now. Still some hotties for the taking tho. Very much wrapped and ST orientated unless you happen to know the girl well.

Still a great bar with a superb line-up and every guy I speak to says the same. Most guys think RB-1 has the most attractive BG's in Nana Plaza. Depending on which DJ is playing the music can be either very good, or quite poor (DJ's work in shifts). Generally I have found the music to be much better than the other Rainbow bars by far. A bar that gets this packed with sometimes 80 BF's a night isn't doing much wrong. BTW Asian men are good at spotting attractive Asian women, hence why it is so packed with Asian men.

Dropped by R1 to check out these hotties. Wow - more 60kg spinners then I could count. Soon after arriving a woman that looked like she was born with a "Y" chromosome started dancing right in front of me. Checkbin baby!!

I spent some time in here a week or two ago and wasn't NEARLY this depressed by their lineup. Older, fatter, they are going the wrong way in my book.

I like the atmosphere in here. I would say it is the most farang friendly out of all the Rainbow bars. I saw a number of hot bodies dancing about and received many smiles and winks from the passing girls.

Rainbow III is equally farang friendly, although alot of guys on the board don't seem to like it. Rainbow I is fairly farang friendly and, in my opinion, has more per capita hotties than IV. That being said, if there are 250 dancers, there have to be a fair few lookers in Rainbow IV as well.

RB-1 still has a great line-up, they do a ton of barfines a night like 70-80 some nights. This is a very high ratio for the size of the barand RB-1 has around 150 Dancers on the books. RB-3 have stopped doing the shows but have reatained a few of the hotties that have recently started working there. However Manos, much bigger and better line-up overall in RB-1, RB-2 & RB-4.

Stopped by for a drink late night. Atmosphere was very good. Many smiles and dirty dancing on stage from the girls. Still a few hotties even at midnight. Saw a girl that use to work in Dave the Rave's old bar Hollywood. A great pull if one finds her.

I will head here earlier next visit. A good bar to hang.

I think that RBI currently has the best lineup in the plaza...and yes, I'm including Rainbow IV in that assessment. Sometimes gets too crowded, and it's popular with the Japanese set, but, for talent on the stage, I don't think you can do better in NaNa.

Hi Manos, I think that is a good assessment. IMO it looks pretty close between Rainbow 1 and Rainbow 4. Both of those top Rainbow bars get very crowded because they have so many hot babes. For eye candy they are the best two bars in Bangkok.

Rainbow 1 had a very good lineup when I was there in May. Was there about 10:30pm, less than avg crowd at the time. Nice eye candy for sure.

I was in Rainbow I last night, on a sadly infrequent sojourn to Nana. It was literally the only bar I visited that was packed with customers. Probably 40 percent of the punters were Japanese. Granted, they're helped out by the fact that the bar is small...meaning that the same number of customers in Rainbow IV or Hollywood Carousel would not yield a packed house. But, still, for sheer volume of talent on the stage, I think Rainbow I still holds the Nana crown.

Rainbow 1 was my first stop in BKK after an afternoon/evening flight in from Beijing. I was too tired to browse much of Nana last night, but will another night. I have to say I was pretty happy with what I saw and there were at least 4-5 girls I would have been happy to take back to the hotel. This was around midnight. I settled on one finally, a very cute little spinner named An. I was shown a card with take-out prices. 600 baht for the barfine, 2000 baht for short time, 4000 baht for long time.

Is this negotiable? I imagine like many things it is, but I also think it's really smart business for them to put it on a card like that. When you see something in writing, you tend to think it's fixed.

It's my first time in Thailand, and while I'm sure I will make some mistakes, I'm only here for five days and CH has already prevented me from making many.

It is totally negotiable (not the barfine, but the "tip" for the girl). Try to go with 1500 ST and 3000 LT in places like NEP and Soi Cowboy.

I've never been handed a card with "prices" before. That does not sound like a good development.

I was recently shown that card. These are the sucker prices. It's like everything, there is the asking price and the real price. The card shows the asking prices.

I told the girl that I wanted to bar fine that I don't pay that kind of money. She came down to 1500 baht for short time without any more discussion. I don't do LT unless I've been with a girl a few times, so I don't know the latest pricing. However, 4000B sounds way too high.

Yeah, they looked high to me, too, based on what I'd read here. Especially the 4000B LT, which I passed on.

I can negotiate, just don't like to do so, especially when Mr. Happy is smitten and the alcohol is buzzing. I prefer the fixed pricing about Rio termas, but the prices here even in BKK are lower. Next time I'll make it to Pattaya.

I am told they moved the original girls here to the renovated Rainbow 3 bar up the stairs on the second floor. This place had very few dancers the other night and not many hotties at all. This may be a reflection on the Japanese earthquakes and resulting lack of customers.
