here is some commentary on bkk:

attire
most people are wearing half black, either a shirt or pants given the passing of HM the King.

nana
rainbow 1 (CH Link) changed the color of their seating from blue to orange. kind of lights up the place. i still like this bar the best in nana. no coyotes, no ladyboys. it has a reputation of catering to japanese but 90% of the girls will go with non asians.

upper erotica (CH Link) has had its ups and downs over the years but seems to have decent talent right now. i only saw one lady boy so that is good.

billboard (CH Link) gets alot of press via the bkk bloggers and it does have alot of girls. i don't like the layout of the place. you can't sit down and get a decent look at the girls (which is not a problem at rainbow or erotica). seems to me that the spinning stage packed with women is useless.

mercury (CH Link) has some decent looking coyotes but they don't go with customers all that often (if ever). a couple i know are just there to rip people off with their tales of woe. not a bad place to go btwn 8 and 9 while you wait for the girls to get going in other bars but that is about it.

cowboy
crazy house (CH Link) is still going strong. easily the best go go in bkk. but it gets crowded. they do a show not long after 9pm. the show is not good so you want to arrive after that, say 10pm. i have noticed alot more asians in crazy house and have noticed some girls skip me (and other non asians) when they go around trying to talk to guys. i don't remember seeing that a couple months ago. at least you know which girls will go with non-asians when that happens.

dollhouse (CH Link) is just about dead. i stop by to enjoy a happy hour beer or two but that is about it.

lighthouse (CH Link) and shark (CH Link) have common ownership and share dancers from time to time. worth a look but most of the attractive gals won't go with customers.

haven't bothered with baccara (CH Link) in a long time, when crazy house is around the corner why bother. i know baccara bought suzy wong (across from dollhouse). and the baccara girls often use the rooms upstairs of the restaurant 'spritz' (almost directly across from baccara).

the strip seems useless as does club electric blue.

king castle one (CH Link) has recvd some commentary from the local bloggers (lot of girls etc..). a girl i met last year went to work there in july of this year. they pay the girls 900thb for the night. but they have to get a lady drink from a customer (they can't buy one for themselves and net 700thb !!!) and show up on time (7pm) in order to qualify for that 'salary'. both of those are tough to get done on a regular basis. the girl i know 'qualifies' twice a week at best. not many farangs. the bar fine for the girl i know is 1800thb (i've never paid it).

pricing for all go go's.
i can't remember all pricing but happy hour beers are less than 100 and non happy hours are 140 (mercury) up to 180. i think i paid 180 at erotica. i know i paid 170 at crazy house (lady drinks at crazy house are also 170, which is on the low side of lady drink prices these days). bar fines are typically 700 and i think i even heard an 800. but can be to 1500-3000 if the girl is a coyote. then you add the short time fee which seems to be 3000 these days. i was in jungle jims (cowboy) and a guy paid 3000 bar fine and 3000 s/t for a gal. a real looker but a bit pricey for buick (and her lady drinks are 200thb). last year i saw a guy take two of these girls so he was out 12,000 not counting drinks.

air asia relocated there a few years ago and one terminal was remodeled in connection with their move. the remodel is ongoing but alot of stuff is complete now. there is a very large food court on the 4th floor landside (before you go through security). plus plenty of food choices airside (burger king, mcd's, subway, kfc, 7-11, some thai places, starbucks). they have 3 piers or concourses, the 30 and 40 gates are still pretty old but the 50 gates are new. downstairs are the 60-70 gates which are the bus gates. i usually hang out at the 50 gate pier and then walk to where my flight is taking off. it can be a long walk, i'm always early for my flights. security is always quick, never seen a line and i fly once or twice a month out of there (but i'm going domestic). i got a taxi on the arrivals level the other day and the taxi guy had to 'tip' the security guy 20 baht to pick up a customer there (me !!).

Thanks for the updates Buick. I too read about King's Castle getting a lot of girls with the 900 a day salary. It made me wonder what the bar fine would be. 1800 is absurd. It's one of the few bars in Patpong that I ever barfined out of. I took a girl out of King's Castle 2 back in 2012, and the barfine was 600.

Is 3000 truly the standard for ST these days out of gogo bars? If so, it made the jump from 2500 awfully fast. That also means my gogo days are pretty much over, and I'll stick to the teen massage places and freelancers going forward.

@ Murasaki .......... I was quoted 3000 ST and 5000 Lt with 800 BF at Happy - Baccara - Peppermint back in April .

the issue with teen massage is you cant take them back to your king size bed and walk-in marble shower. Freelancers are easy but you run a risk of not seeing their complete body as the gogo's. (Ass and stomach in particular)

many girls start with 3000 but i think they know it is a bit high. you won't be known as a cheap charlie if you hold strong to 2500.

at kings castle, they do have 'non coyote' girls with lower bar fines (who are not getting the 900 nightly show up and dance fee).

a longtime expat/bkk resident was giving me some lip over paying my girl(s) too much (current standard rates !!). he was still living in the really old days of 500 s/t. i always laughed and said he wasn't paying enough for the girls to survive. then two weeks ago, he caught his girl giving a guy a hand job at a bar on cowboy (toy bar). she claimed she had to do it as he wasn't paying her enough to survive. i'm still laughing at this one.

i sure hope crazy house has a chance to expand at some point in the future. that would be a nice positive change. one of the bkk bloggers mentioned barely legal gals being bussed in to crazy house on the weekends. i did see some girls that looked young (and lost !!) on a friday. didn't see them during the week. so that rumor may be true. barely legal in thailand means not legal in my mind so be careful in that place.

Thanks for the info guys. I'm headed back to Thailand in Feb for the first time in probably 5 years...Sounds like a lot has changed. I've only been to BKK previously. Enjoyed Darlings - Turkish bath - but I've read it's gone down hill. Do you guys recommend a different place? I'm actually going with my bi gf who loves to play. She's never been to Thailand and wants to see and do everything. I'm thinking BKK, Pattaya and Phuket. Any suggestions/ adivse would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Thai authorities announced that Loy Krathong holiday on Nov 14, 2016 could be celebrated and the restrictions on clubs, tourists spots, etc were lifted. Because the first 30-day mourning period had passed. But, the year-long remembrance period was still in effect. So, people can still wear black or white clothing in honor of the dead king.

Bangkok, Pattaya and the whole nightlife of thailand has changed so much; much for the worst.
still, you now has to tread more careful to maximize your fun and money.
will go there around july/august '17. so, in general and with the painful changes of times, i still get my fun i am looking for.
