Concur, avg talent in dec-jan, few doables. On my last visit a drink that I didnt order was charged to my key#. I suspect the culprit was a sneaky gdp. At the exit the unauthorized charge was removed. Always check your bill before you pay.

Dunno if this already was reported: for every 700 you spend here you qualify for a free entrance, but need to first register by biometric fingerprint scan at the reception.

It's every R$500, and as of November it was no longer open to newbies, at least that's what I was told when I tried to get a new guy I was there with signed up.

When I was there in November they wouldn't let me sign up either.

Fact:

1. solarium has the same owners as MC.
2. most termas pay commission to cab, therefore, in lieu of you paying the taxi, the house does.
3. MC is $500R spent for free entry.

A. Solarium would not pay commission to my taxi as i entered using the finger test.

MC always pays commission, even when i give them the finger.

Solarium always pads the bar bill, upon questioning, it is always removed.

Entry, 40 min in cabine and a few drinks always adds up to more money then it is worth it....

I went here on Saturday and Sunday (March 15/16) and thought I saw most of the lineup. I went back Monday and Tuesday (March 24/25) a week later, and a third of women on Monday were new to me and nearly half were new to me on Tuesday. That's a lot of women for a relatively smallish terma. Do they have some type of rotation system here?

It's proof of what all the Rio vets have been saying for a while now. you never really know how good the main termas are from day to day.. you just have to go and check it out.

For instance.. I was in L'uomo in August of 07 and walked out..sucked...Me and CFK hit L'uomo at 4pm in Oct. 07, only seconds after they opened and it was great a 1/2 dozen hotties among the 15 or so garotas and me and CFK, it was like our private club.. Not to mention a great buffet that day! Someone posted it sucked a few days later... so go figure.

I made two stops at Solarium last week. I was not that impressed by the lineup but I was very pleased with my selections and had a great time.

My first choice was Babel. I don’t usually believe everything a terma girl says but I do believe that Babel is a mere 19 years old and that it was only her second day on the job. I made a termas run to Solarium a few days ago (July 24th) and had a great time.

Barely sat down with my beer before I got pounced on (literally) by a nice little Bahiana (undoubtedly the same Horrana/Ohanna everyone here has been talking about...can't check Brazil pics on this thread to verify, due to being in Brazil, but based on all the previous descriptions, there is no doubt). Normally, I don't like to be pounced upon like this, but it worked out really well and I got to prolong the "interviewing" session long enough (and after some time and effort, FINALLY got to finish my beer). Plus, I'm a big Bahiana fan, which made it an even easier sell.

Used a 40 minute cabine, had a fun session that I got to prolong for about 10 minutes post-phone call for a little bit of vibrator-assisted DATY. Only downside was that she might be a little too loud for some (although I'm not complaining...haha).

Also, on a side note, didn't have the non-meter scam here as some others I know have had here given the location (Lagoa/Jardim Botanico), but I guess results will vary.

Yet another good break from living in 4x4 and L. I seriously wish I could have just rented an apartment/room next to or in (could be possible given the size of the place...haha) 4x4. Would have made this trip that much easier (haha).

You bring up a good question about the "dating Termas girls scheme". In the past, I have occasionally gotten phone numbers from Termas girls but have never followed up and made dates outside the Termas. How does that work out? I am assuming that if they give you their phone number (although they are not supposed to) that they are offering to make an off site visit. True? And if so, what do they charge for an off site session?

And when is it that these girls can come and visit? After closing? I'm also curious to know what kind of shifts these girls work these days. I know that the centro Termas are closed on weekends so I suppose the girls from 4x4, Cancun, etc are free on the weekends, but what about the girls at Solarium, LH, and MC? Do they work 7 days a week or is there some sort of rotating schedule?

I (like to think I...) finally learned my lesson after some recent experiences in Thailand with taking girls to the mall (haha). I can only hope to develop an allergic reaction to the deadly girl and mall combo.

In terms of dating outside of the termas, it can be a tricky nut to crack sometimes given the girls' schedules, home life (especially important for the 18 yr old to early-20's set), etc. I've found more success with the downtown girls just in the sense that they have more free time on the weekends (and most of them get off at a fairly reasonable midnight hour on work days...and that's after some of them come in at around 5 pm or so). That 2 pm to 12 am time frame on weekdays only is a pretty ideal set-up for having off-hours fun.

I remember the other Zona Sul places like MC and I think Solarium (not sure which nights offhand) can have more variable hours that last later on into the night, making post-work encounters a little more difficult. L'uomo might work for some girls given the 4 pm to midnight time frame that L is open, but it's a 7 day a week place, so it can make it difficult unless your girl takes some off time or isn't too worn out that day.

Haven't frequented these places enough at various times during the week to get too much of a sense as to whether rotations exist, but I would assume that there is some form in place. Anyone who's familar with this, please feel free to chime in.

I remember asking girls at Solarium this year and last year about what days they were working there and it seemed like a lot of them were saying Sunday is the day they are not usually there/take off, although I don't think this sampling is big enough to make too many assumptions there.

Getting the number from a girl has usually been a good sign that I can see them during their limited free time in past experiences, but the scheduling does become an issue. Also, one "dangerous" thing I've found about getting into out-of-termas phone and personal contact with some of the girls is that some will start to try and keep tabs on your whereabouts (given their ability to call you) or become needy for you to visit them during work hours (part of the reason why I've been securing suitable 4x4 alternatives...haha). Always nice to have a rental cell phone, huh?

I've got to read up on the subject matter more, but I'd really like to learn more about termas management practices. I'm curious about who gets what cuts of the programa money. Some places break it down by room fee and attendent/girl fee (so you can get some sense), but other places have set fees including both (a la 4x4). It would be interesting to see how much the girls are actually taking home and how it factors into their decisions for off-site contact.

Also, does anyone know if girls make base pay for coming into work (in addition to programa money) and/or if they have to pay some sorts of fees for facility usage (I've heard conflicting opinions on this matter)? I know this varies by location, but I'd be interested to get a better sense of how things are done in my favorite spots (i.e. 4x4, L, etc.). Hmm, I guess this part really SHOULD be moved into a termas policies section (if one does not already exist).

The thing I love about Brasil is the fact that sometimes these decisions for off-site contact aren't purely financial. Some of the GDPs have told me about their fellow termas co-workers/friends being real edgy and tense some days because they hadn't had a session/orgasm that day and not because they were losing out on business. It's always nice to know that girls are enjoying themselves at work. Great work for a nympho if they can get it.

Okay, no more sidetracking! In terms of pricing, I guess this can vary by how many times you've sessioned with her during work hours. In personal experiences, I've seen that you can be quoted fairly low prices (in some cases, in the sub-R$100 to "gratis" range, but this might be more variable for others if you are still pretty new to the girl...that kind of figure is for a couple of the girls I have seen quite regularly, so I don't want to get everyone's hopes up too high for freebies), even for an all-nighter.

However, this does take a little luck/timing/various factors working in your favor, making it an option that is not really all that doable for short-trips, unless you know your girl really well and possibly have the luxury of getting into contact with her ahead of your time in Brasil to check the feasibility. If you're a Brasil regular, these kind of inexpensive side deals feel more possible, but I will say that you run the risk of spoiling your fun (i.e. ability to effectively butterfly) in the termas and may be forced to become a bit of a rolling stone from place to place if you are staying for an extended period. Sometimes it's great to be unknown, no?

I mean this in the sense that there are definite costs and benefits to your off-site affairs. For example, I have a favorita at 4x4 who I can see outside of work for essentially "free" (only in terms of the deed itself and of course, there are no free lunches...I'm open to pay for meals, transportation [which luckily, I know the correct pricing for], etc.), but the trade-off is the GFE becoming a little bit too real (she loves to show me family photos and I'm being constantly reminded to refer to her mother as "sogra"...bad sign for male freedom...haha). So, while it IS a potential way to get some very quality action at great prices, you may end up sacrificing a little freedom when dodging the dreaded GarotaNet during your termas flings.

To CFK: Ooh, what's the name of the sister? I don't remember seeing another girl who looked much similar to the original, but I don't know if they look alike or not. I recall that before Luomo raised their prices on the Monday before Thanksgiving three years in a row, so maybe there's a few more weeks to go.

Interesting how they raised their prices right around the time that the real became weaker against the dollar. Those are bullshit prices. The girl better look like Alessandra D'Ambrosia and have sparks shooting out her ass when I fuck her for me to pay that amount.

I prefer the hour because I like to give the girl a boyfriend experience. However, an additional R$125 is a lot to pay unless you have seen a girl before. Therefore, I would suggest do like I did and get a phone number. Forty minutes is usually enough time to see if you have the kind of rapport for her to spend the night.

It's not so much the girl charge but the charge from the room there and the cover are what is outrageous.The rooms in Solarium are not worth what they charge and thats where they get you the average room.At least drinks are affordable unless they raised those also.

I had 2 good sessions in MC last week. 1 with Joyce. Every bit as good as described by a member previously, highly recommended. And Danielle, I think its her real name, I believe her club name is Simone. Big ass, long black hair. Other then that it was slim pickens.

Went to Solarium tonight at about 5 PM. By 6:20 there were about 25 girls (reception said there would be 32). Everytime I go to Solarium the day of a big show (Madonna, Rolling Stones, The Police) there is a good amount of absenteeism.

2 really good looking girls, 5 that would be considered types my friends might like and 20 with either a fucked up face or an ass the size of typical offensive lineman in the NFL.

Tested out Solarium today. Was jam packed with dudes at 6pm.. There were plenty of good looking morenas at Solarium and went with an old favorite. I'd say the talent level was a tad below Centaurus. I have always been a big fan of Centaurus - I'm most interested in trophies. However in the off season without many fresh faces perhaps one is better off going to the other termas - save a little money and avoid the hard sell. Will see how Centaurus is tomorrow on a bigger night - LB...

Is there still a coupon that can be printed out to waive the entrance fee? Any info would be appreciated.

the only 'Promocoes & eventos' Solarium has had over the past several months was basically 'themed' nights or drink specials, no discount on either entrance or cabine fees.

That's because they don't email it out unless you request it. The coupon is good for two weeks supposedly, but they collect it at entry. All you need to do is go to the website and request the coupon and it's emailed to you. You print it out and that's that.

Yes, the day before you leave for Rio, go to the "festa do internauta" link and type in your email address. Moments later you'll get the coupon via email. It's good for 15 days.

Better yet, do so using multiple email addresses and receive multiple coupons that you can use during your stay.

Make sure you "print" it. I have 2 separate occasions where I had the coupon/promotion on my iPhone. I showed the lady the promotion and see had a look of horror as how to handle that. Both times she suggested I actually go down the street and print it out -- which my response was that I would just talk to manager.

BTW, it is always good idea NOT to go to Solarium on their promo nights (especially if there are good discounts). I was there on their 30th anniversary night and the place was slammed with youngish Brasilieros playing grab-ass because entrance was 30R.

I have never had a termas pay my taxi fare.

If you mean negotiating the taxi fare in lieu of perhaps the driver receiving a commission, then that might work but that is between you and the driver not the termas desk. Most drivers won't do it if you are a single person (especially if you don't speak Port). I would say in my experience that less than 50% of taxi drivers even know where Solarium is let alone aware of what kind of commission they are going to receive.

I remember a time a fellow monger waved down 4 different taxis b/c he didn't want to pay the taxi fare for a termas visit. He then wasted a good 10-15 minutes inside together with the driver argueing with the receptionist as to what driver was going to receive. For what turned out to be 10R fare.....in his fixation in literally saving a couple of bucks upon entering the bar he had forgotten his apartment keys in the backseat of the taxi.
Another time, a different monger wanted to take the taxi downtown instead of the metro b/c it would "quicker" and it would allow him to get to 4x4 before 5pm so his entrance would be free. Of course, there was traffic so by the time we got there he only had 15 minutes to decide. Sure enough, he selected a sub-standard garota with a sub-standard attitude in his haste to beat the clock and save 40R.
And as I had mentioned, myself personally I went to Solarium for the "30R entrance" promotion. I could not even move in the place and ended up leaving without so much as a kiss on the cheek.

A lot of the promos/discounts at the termas in my opinion are much like the person who drives across town to save 5 cents on a gallon of gas....you might save a couple of bucks here and there but overall it can be a real waste of an equivalent amount in time, aggravation and/or disappointment. Hardly worth it considering what it takes to make the journey down there in the first place.

That's exactly what I meant. Anyone that has been to a terma should grasp the meaning of my rather concise statement. Thank you for clarifying it's meaning to the fullest. I totally agree with your analogy of the 'economics' involved. I posted this info for the 'few' thus possibly eliminating confrontation.

Gotta love the promotion: Visit your local termas after the protest march. Only in Brazil!!!

You should see the protests themselves: people drinking beer and smoking pot, giant sound truck blasting music. It resembles nothing so much as a Carnaval bloco in the middle of June (now July). It's ridiculous.

Now that is the kind of protest I can relate to - drinking beer and following sound trucks blasting music! I would have nothing to protest, but join anyway!

They are protesting everything. Corruption, poor health care, high taxes, high cost of public services, basically living in Brazil in general. I think the biggest part of it is over, but a small contingent keeps marching infrequently.
