Thursday (Blink and Spinner)
My first task of the day was to check out Las Torres. My Holiday Inn reservation was only for 1 night, so I had to change hotels or extend my stay. Las Torres was just around the corner so I walked in to check it out. I passed the courtyard into the reception area where a young lady was browsing on a computer. She called to another lady in a back room while I looked over a price sheet. The least expensive room was $30 US per night included all taxes (much less than my $80 at Holiday Inn), but I did notice a guest fee of $20 listed on the sheet. I asked to see the room and was shown one that was relatively nice. They didn't have in-room safes and I didn't see any public computer access. I said I'd have to think about it and would return.
La Reforma was close by so I walked there where I saw Suites Reforma nearby. I had never heard of this place, but I figured I may as well check it out since it was right here. An armed security guard nodded as I walked past him and through the revolving doors. Another doorway was at the end of this short hall to the left, and past this the reception desk.
I got a quote of $57US after taxes and had one them show me one of the rooms. We walked past a business center where they had two computers, then headed up into the elevator. The rooms here looked nice, but they also didn't have safes. We returned to the front desk where I asked a few more questions. I found there was a charge to use the business center and noticed that they seemed to have limited hours for access to the safety deposit boxes, including no access on Sundays. I did like the layout and decor, though, so I grabbed a brochure and mentioned that I might return.
Check-out time was rapidly approaching, so I had to make a decision. I decided to spend one more night at Holiday Inn so I wouldn't have to rush my decision of where I would spend the rest of my nights.
Since my days in Guatemala were limited, I decided to do as much mapping of the city as possible this first day. I figured that this would make it easier for me to develop a plan for visiting the long list of places I had in hand. I started off just walking around the block. On the south end of my block near Calle 12, I stopped in a bookstore to see if they had a better map than the one I had, but they didn't. Outside the bookstore there was a sign of a music artist named Charly Garcia. I found it amusing and snapped a photo of it because I thought he looked like Weird Al Yankovic.

Weird Al's Twin? | Cozy w/ good food |
I continued north where I found a nice restaurant to eat at named Siriocos. I recogized the name as a recommended top-end restaurant from my Lonely Planet guide, so I stopped in and ordered a nice Ravioli dish which came out to about $13US. The ambiance was pleasant and the food was excellent. It's a good place to check out and only a block north of the Holiday Inn at #12-16 Avenida 1 on the west side of the street just past the Raddison Hotel. I was the only customer when I walked in, but a few businessmen came in while I was finishing up.
Just north of Siriocos I found a small mall with some fast food restaurants, a Western Union, and a couple ATMs. Three heavily armed security guards were at the Western union, one outside and two inside. I stopped inside to change some more money and ended up spending at least 20 minutes there. They had an unusually large amount of paperwork to complete for a simple exchange, and I had to first wait in line at a service desk, then at a cashier's window. I decided I wouldn't be changing money here anymore.
Queens was nearby to the north, so I walked by and snapped a photo. Nothing else was in Zone 10 that I could see from my notes except for Elite at the south end, but I decided to check that out another day. I headed back south towards 13th, then crossed over La Reforma back into Zone 9, where most of the clubs were located.
I walked the familiar path back to Caprichos, stopping at Club El Oasis to snap a photo, but I didn't get one at Caprichos because some people were standing right outside the door. Instead I walked around the corner to the south to look for Garotas. I found the club on a small side street named Avenida 5 "A" between Avenida 5 and Avenida 6.
I continued north to look for a place called "Jardin", but instead found a club named Paradise in it's place. I walked around the building and double checked my notes and it appeared to be the correct place. I snapped that photo and headed west on Calle 12 where a small group of bars were located. I turned right on Avenida 2 to find Casablanca and Club Venus on the west side of the street. Casablanca was in a white, unmarked building, but I could identify it because I had the address. Club Venus was easy to identify because of the neon sign outside. According to my notes, both were supposedly open. I saw a pair of eyes looking through a small window at the Casablanca entrance, so I knocked. I was given a brief tour of the place which was nice due to a recent remodal, but the gentlemen said that no ladies were currently available but to try again later in the day or evening. I assumed Venus had a similar situation, so I walked past it east down Calle 11.
I found Molino Rojo on the south side of Calle 11. Like Caprichos and Casablanca, this club was unmarked and only identifiable from the address. I turned left and walked north up Avenida 3. Men's Club was in an unmarked gray building on the east side of the street. A couple decent looking young ladies walked out while I was standing near the corner. I stopped to go over my notes and map for the rest of my club tour.
The next set of clubs were located directly north, but according to my map the Parque Centroamerica was in the way. I walked to its south end on Calle 8, but it didn't look like I could pass through, so I headed west and up Avenida 5, passing a club named Samba which I didn't have notes on. I headed back west once I reached Calle 5 to find Platinum on the north end. I continued up Avenida 2 which was lined with buses before back east on Calle 3. Cats was on the north side of this street just before Avenida 5. Extasis was nearby around the corner to the right while Caribe was one block north. Caribe appeared to be open, but the area bad and the reputation according to my notes was worse. I caught a glimpse of an older lady past a man standing at the door and decided against going in.
With the Zone 9 portion of my tour completed, I headed west on Calle 2 until I reached the Torre del Reformador on Avenida 7. This structure is a smaller replica of the Eiffel Tower and built to scale. I headed north from here and past Calle 1 into Zone 4.
I stopped in a store where I purchased a Ladatel phone card and a Prensa Libre. Prensa Libre is a local publication with that has some escort listings in the classifieds section, I thought they might come in handy later. On the other side Avenida 7 I spotted the International Flamingo.
The Ramada Conquistador was a few blocks to the north. I got a rate quote of $61 US with all taxes included. I didn't bother checking out the rooms, but the lobby was very nice and large and opened up into a large restaurant area. I walked around outside and found Le Club nearby. The street layout here was a bit confusing because the street were laid out in a criss-cross pattern at a 45 degree angle to the north-south Avenidas. After this long walk I was getting hungry, so I stopped in a Taco Bell on Avenida 7.
The sun had set while I was eating my dinner. I headed back towards Le Club and saw the sign for Borders down a small side street. I continued past Le Club and onto Avenida 6 where I found Oro Solido. My notes described the area as not being the safest, and that seemed apparent on this street. Some lights were on at Oro Solido, so I headed up some stairs and into the club. A few ladies were seating watching a dancer on stage. They were all dressed for work, but I was obviously early and the only customer in the place. I ordered some water from the water when he came by.
As I was checking out the club from my seat, one of the seated ladies approached and sat next to me. She was an attractive Honduran and seemed somewhat friendly. She asked me to buy her a drink, a request I would normally agree to, but instead I asked her how much the drinks were. I was glad I asked when she replied 150Q. At $19US, I thought this was a pretty outrageous price for a drink so I declined. She tried to tell me that it wasn't very expensive and gave me an inaccurate conversion of $14US, but I still refused. She continued to describe lower priced drinks at 100Q and 70Q, but at this point I just wanted to leave. She left soon after since I wasn't going to buy her a drink, and I got up shortly after that.
I walked over to Le Club which had a very nice setup with a large runway protruding from the stage. I walked in and sat on the right side of the club. A large number of ladies were spread throughout, but they many were difficult to get a good look at because of the size of the place and moderately dim lighting. Fortunately, the dancers were very easy to see and they often danced in sets of two or three. I sat for a few drinks admiring the club and the dancers before one of the waiters offered to help me find a lady.
I finally decided on an attractive lady from El Salvador after I saw her dance. The waiter had recommended someone else, but said that my choice was friendly as well. He brought her over after her sat and we spoke for a while before we arranged a short-time date.

We walked up the stairs to the rooms which were small, without bathrooms, and not very impressive. Unfortunately, my date was even more disappointing. She was friendly, but provided no foreplay and was very boring during the sex. My track record thus far was not very impressive, I picked up some nice looking ladies but was three for three on lack of blowjobs and only had one responsive to sex. I lost my erection during the sex because she was so uninterested. She made an effort to get me hard again, but it was without passion so it wasn't successful. At least she figured I wasn't too happy and didn't ask for a tip afterwards.
I decided it would be best to get cleaned up and drop off my paper before heading back out, so I caught a cab back to the Holiday Inn for about 35Q. I took a shower and changed clothes and was soon walking back into Zone 9.
First stop was Moulin Rouge. This club was smaller with fewer ladies, but I liked it a lot. The lighting was better than most clubs so I could clear the ladies clearly, and although they were fewer in number, I easily spot several that I was interested in. One flirtatious lady was busy with a customer, but she caught me admiring her and made sure to brush aside me as she walked by. She certainly made herself one of the most appealing, but unfortunately looked as though she'd be busy for awhile, as were the other two I was most attracted to. I finished my beer and decided to return another day.
Casablanca and Club Venus where right around the corner, but Men's Club was supposed to be one of the better places so I decided to go there instead. When I arrived, the guards seemed really surprised to see me knocking at the door. This place was packed with locals and had much more of a party ambiance to it. A lot more ladies were working here than at Moulin Rouge, but I only saw a couple that I found attractive, and both of them were busy. I decided to stay and pick one up anyways.
The first lady that approached me was somewhat large but had a pretty face. I didn't want to have sex with her, but I got very tempted when she was describing how well she would give me a BJ. This was even more so tempting given my three prior strikes, but I decided to find a lady that I was more attracted to. The best looking lady noticed that I had been looking at her, but she was busy with her customer. She tore herself away when I walked around the corner and asked me to wait for her.
Another couple ladies approached while I was waiting, but I decided to wait for the Honduran.
After a long wait, the Honduran was finally available. She came over and dragged me to a corner where I bought her a drink and we sat and talked for awhile. She was aggressive like my lady from Queens, but in a much more sensual way. Soon we found ourselves heading to the short time rooms.
The room was somewhat nice for being a locals' club, definitely better than the room I had been in earlier at Le Club. The room also had a connected bathroom which is also convenient.
I finally received a BJ and it was a good one, but unfortunately covered and short. Still, it was nice to finally have a complete session with full services and more than moderate passion. I also didn't have to pay as much as some of the other clubs, although I was still asked for a tip.

I hung out for a short while longer in the club checking out some of the other ladies before heading back out. I took note of one attractive lady named Alejandra. She wasn't as attractive as some of the others, but she had a sensual quality about her that doesn't translate well into written words. She would be a strong consideration if I returned.
I could have backtracked to hit a few nearby, but decided to head north instead to visit Platinum as it supposedly had a better reputation. The walk around the park didn't seem to be the safest thing to do, but it didn't bother me. In 10 minutes or so I was in front of the brightly lit Platinum where many cars and cabs were parked.
Platinum was very nice, more like an upscale strip club along the lines of Le Club in Zone 4. One of the attendants out front mentioned that they were open very late until about 5am...good news. I walked in where I immediately saw a good number of attractive ladies scattered throughtout the club. A strip show was taking place on the stage in front of me. A couple of attractive ladies to my right invited me to sit with them, so I joined them but only bought a beer for the lady closest. Her drink was more expensive at about 100Q ($13), so I figured I wouldn't be buying many more lady drinks here.
After a short time, another lady sat down at a table to my right. She soon asked me to buy her a drink but I declined. While the talent here was very good, I got the sense that the ladies were a little more money hungry than I liked. I soon excused myself before the one to my left finished her drink.
I walked to the restroom then around the club again where I took a seat near the back. A lovely tall lady saw me looking at her and approached. She reminded me much of the Colombianas in Costa Rica, but it turned out she was from Honduras. We talked for a bit and she suggested coming to my hotel for the evening, but I was hesitant despite her looks because I only picked up a moderate vibe. When I asked, she quoted me some ridiculous price, I don't recall exactly what it was, but I think it was over $300US after the conversion. At that point, I decided it was time for me to leave. I told her I couldn't because my money was at the hotel, but I might be back later since they were open late.
I had some time to visit another club before closing, but decided to call it a night. I didn't want to stay up too late anyways since I was changing hotels the next day. I caught a cab in front of Platinum back to the Holiday Inn. The computer area was dark, but I asked and was allowed to use one of the computers. I checked my email and did a little bit of reading before heading off to bed.
Which of the above girls is Blink? Which is Spinner? Where are the photos?
